2012 Mazda 3 front lower ball joint replacement.

This is a long video since I ended up having a few videos to edit and then put them together. I don't want to spread them over several videos but at least you can see most of what it took for me to get this done.

quite an easy job tbh i didnt even remove the tie rod end. tied the knuckle and just pressed it in 30mins tbf though i had a hoist
thanks for the video. btw hoped you torqued the axle nut I have the same gun does about 150ftlbs axle nut is 175 - 202 ftlbs

Thanks. Yes I did. I usually torque by hand not with the impact. You're right it looks like you may have more room from the bottom. I wanted to check the play on that tie rod.

Do you absolutely have to remove the CV axle to replace the ball joint?

Yes, you need the space under the axle to place the press.

Yesterday after watching this video I was able to press the drivers lower ball joint from a cx3 without removing the axle. I did loosen the nut for some wiggle room but I didn’t remove it.
