Brush Fire Damages Garage and Vehicles

On Monday, June 24th at 2:42pm Corona Fire units were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire at the 600 block of Corona Ave. Upon arrival units found a wind-driven fire that began while a resident was cutting dry grass with a tractor.
The fire quickly moved uphill, damaging 3 vehicles and 1 detached garage on the property. The fast-moving fire continued, jumping Mandevilla Way and threatening homes on Via Blairo. Multiple homes were threatened but fortunately firefighters were able to successfully protect the homes.
The fire was held to 11.54 acres and there were no reports of injuries.
Responding units included Corona Fire, Riverside City Fire, CAL FIRE, Murrieta, March AFB, Orange County Fire Authority, and CPD responded.
