Are they diesel? Kind of sounds it in the video. I noticed the newer trucks seem to be gas.

B-33 is diesel if I recall. I was on it once back in late 90’s early 2000, surprised it is still going. It did/does spend the summer on island beach state park.

There's no time limit on how long you can keep a vehicle running if you have access to parts or the ability to manufacture parts like they do in Cuba. My brother drove a '70s Datsun pickup up until about 8 years ago. He got a new fire-engine red Toyota GT coupe. His son will inherit that car & a 1978 BMW 530i my brother bought new as a family car. I've never understood why people trade in cars so frequently. I drove a 2003 Toyota RAV4 until two, not one but two, lousy drivers smashed it. That car needed nothing but basics & was 100% until 2020 when it went for salvage. People drive much too fast & are distracted, fatigued, &/or impaired so often, I'll never worry for a job. I'm an ER & ICU nurse. I gave up firefighting a long time ago. Turns out nurses die of cancer just as often. Crap.

This fire is in the Pine Barrens just south of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. I remember this area well from Basic Training at Dix. Pine needle carpets make for great blazes, even in damp NJ. Eastern wildfires aren't as well known because they seldom grow as big as out west but they're common enough. Maine to Florida, all states have a few each year. Heck, I've seen video of FDNY fighting a wildfire in NYC. Badly too I might add. It isn't what they're trained & experienced in.
