Mr. J, My loving wife passed three years ago. We were together 35 years. Ever since I found you and subscribed, so many songs bring back memories, most songs I cry thinking about her. You have an amazing sweet spirit. Thank you for this channel. This song was in the 50's, I'd love to see your reaction on "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Co.B" Andrews Sisters.
Me too. We had great music, during that time, when we met and fell in love. Damn, I miss him so much. I know y’all miss your honey also. Gonna go listen to Cool Change and ZZ Top.
As a singer, it blows my MIND that John Farnham still has the essence and soul of this vocal and performance capability today, event at 70. Man is damn LEGEND.
The lead singer in this video is John Farnham, perhaps the greatest Australian vocalist ever. He sang for the band from 1982-1987. Before and after that the lead singer was Glenn Shorrock, who was also tremendous. I prefer the band with Shorrock, but you gotta give props to Farnham.
YAY, we're finally visiting the LRB rabbit hole! Reminiscing is my top favorite from this band. Other favorites of mine are - Cool change, Lady, Take it easy on me, Lonesome loser, The Other Guy, Help is on it's way, The Night Owls, & Happy anniversary. I think it's safe to say that you've heard their music before, especially at your work site. :-)
So many great hits from LRB. Despite how great John Farnham is, I would have recommended going for the original vocalist Glenn Shorrock. Other songs to consider... Cool Change Lonesome Loser The Night Owls Playing to Win The Other Guy Help Is On the Way Lady Home on a Monday
Agreed. This guy was more like 👍 modern r and b singers. All over the map. showcasing himself a bit too much. If Shorrock was the original, he could sing it so that the SONG was showcased
You guys are nicer than I am, when it comes to good or bad. This version gave me bitter beer face. He murdered the song, and NOT in a good way. Having to prove himself, I get it, but the vocal gymnastics are annoying - just sing the song. I only somewhat recognized this song, it's sounds so different. I guess I'm a purist. When you hear it the way it's supposed to sound, this really falls short. Oh well. I'm happy Jamal heard it. Perhaps, he'll look up the original studio cut now. Take care everyone!
I just discovered your channel this morning and I've spent my entire Sunday watching you. As I was watching, I kept thinking I wish Jamal would do a reaction to Little River Band's Reminiscing. Lo and behold, you just did it. Wishes do come true. Love what you are doing here. Love your channel.
John , an iconic solo artist in Australia , joined the Little River Band for a short while when they were in there last years before breaking up . The bass player cunningly maintained the rights to the name Little River Band and so pretty well put an end to any on going performances in their own name. The original members came from different backgrounds. Glenn Shorrock , lead sing was from Adelaide band The Twilights. Been Birtles and Graham Goble came from a smaller group Mississippi. Glenn had fronted another band Axiom which played at my High School formal. Eventually they teamed up and hit it big in the US with Its a Long Way There during the .70,s. They went on to record some memorable albums. Beautiful harmonies and extremely talented musicians.
Other Little River Band songs to give a listen to: Lonesome Loser, Cool Change, Man on Your Mind, Take it Easy on Me, Lady, Help is on it's Way, and The Other Guy.
Loved this song since it came out, and never thought I'd ever see it in a different light. But thanks to this little "mistake", I got to see this version, which blew me away! Thank you Jamal!
You should check out Todd Rundgren. He has some great songs from the 70s. " Hello it's me" and "I saw the light" are both fantastic songs you'd probably enjoy. Great job on all the videos
I love that you're an old soul. Little River Band has been a favorite for a long time. John Farnham, the lead singer is very good, but you need to liston to some older songs with Glenn Shorrack as the lead singer. That is the true LRB! Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, Lady are some of the best.
This is what the world needs more than anything my friends! Right here right now, all of us with so many ethnicities, races, gender, sexuality, and religious beliefs. Putting all of that aside, it does not matter, it has no place here because we all appreciate, and respect each others common love of great music and of course it wouldn't be possible without our so gracious host Jamel A.K.A. Jamal ! Much love to you all, every time we leave here why don't we try and keep it going and if possible and safe do something nice for a stranger, even as small as a wave when someone lets you in front of them in traffic or try opening the door for someone, helping the elderly with something. Its amazing how far that one good deed can have a ripple effect across a community like a rock dropped into a lake. IDK worth a shot right? I figure it can't hurt with how chaotic things seem right now. Thanks Jamel

Always liked them, never bought any cds of theirs, but this live performance surprised me at how good it is. Super tight band and the lead singer is excellent. His riffing is sweet without ruining the melody.
Yeah, they're one of those bands where you can't remember song titles, and say "I don't remember them" and your dad says "yes, you do..." then plays this and you're like...."oh yeah, NOW I remember who they were"...✌😂

When you get some time, try and throw some Atlanta Rhythm Section into the mix- Imaginary Lover, Spooky, So Into You, Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight... Fun fact- In the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta, there is a back dining area called The Atlanta Rhythm Section in honor of the band.
The singer is John Farnham is he sings songs like ‘you’re the voice’, ‘That’s freedom’ and ‘Two strong hearts’ you should do reactions John Farnham was always with Little river band btw

John is John Farnham, who is singing lead in this video. The studio version, the version most people are familiar with, was sung by Glenn Shorrock. Glenn left the band shortly after this song was recorded and went solo, and John Farnham replaced him for a few years. Glenn eventually came back, but by then their time in the limelight was pretty much over. Both John Farnham and Glenn Shorrock are excellent singers and I honestly love them both in LRB. You should check out the official video so you can see and hear Glenn's version.

For more Yacht Rock greats Starbuck, “Moonlight Feels Right” Firefall- too many hits to mention America- same as above Louisiana Larue “Heat of the Night” Just the tip of the proverbial iceberg
John Farnham was the replacement lead singer for the band, from 1982-1987, at which point he left. He was replaced by the original lead singer, Glenn Shorrock. John was a polarizing figure, and much of the band's fandom in America wanted Glenn back in the band instead of John. Obviously, not everyone agreed with this. The man you're watching is John Farnham. The man who originally sang this song was Glenn Shorrock. If you compare the versions, this one was raised to a different key in order to meet John's natural vocal range, which changed the feel of the song. While John was very skilled and quite capable, he came on when the band was starting to change direction. The newer music wasn't as well received, and people had a love for the older stuff they'd sung before. Many felt that this change was in part due to John, even though most of it was due to the new direction of guitarist Graeham Goble. The band's name changed to LRB, officially, which also stung a bit. Certain band members started leaving during this period, which didn't help. John Farnham was a good singer, and a decent amount of people felt he could've done well if it weren't for those other issues. Even so, those that reminisced about Glenn's vocals ended up winning out, getting him back when John left.
John Farnham is probably Australia’s greatest singer ever. He joined The Little River Band for a short time before he went onto to have an amazing solo career. He is so adored here in Australia. I would love you to react to his version of the Beatles - HELP. I have seen John Farnham many many times live, he is amazing 💕💕 Another wonderful song is John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes (another Aussie legend) singing - when something is wrong with my baby💕
I had to come back and watch this again, great version. Jamal I can tell by your reactions on this song you TRULY enjoy it. More so than any other of your other videos.
Hey Jamel, hoping you're having a relaxing Sunday. Since you've been on a 70's kick, I'd like to suggest "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship. Preferably the long version as opposed to the radio version. I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it.
I was going to say the same thing. The original” smooth delivery” on the studio album version is the best. The live version is too muddled for this song
LOL, that was one of my mama's favorite idle threats when I was misbehaving as a little guy, that she was going to teach me bald-headed. The other one was, "I'll rip your arm off and beat you with the bloody end." 😆
Fabulous, Jamal! Diggin' you as always and the joy we have together. If you like these jazzy grooves with flawless vocals, you MUST play Smoke From a Distant Fire, Sanford and Townsend Band.
Wow! I was only just listening to this great song earlier today in the shower! Although I much prefer the original lead singer Glenn Shorrock. When you’re talking Little River Band though I just love “It’s a Long Way There”, that song totally rocks...
I wish there where a huge thumbs up button for The Little River Band, one of my personal favorites. Love them, love this song. Thank you. How far back do you go with your reactions Jamel? I would love to see you react to a duo that I listened to growing up, The Everly Brothers. Their harmonies are so tight. Such a crush I had.
Glenn Shorrock was the voice that we fell in love with in the 80’s. Jamel? You must listen to the Greatest Hits Album from 1982. Incredible! Just do it on you own time. You won’t be disappointed. Glenn has great videos, singing LRB songs. This guy is good, but not the sound we fell for. There’s still a LRB , but no original members. 🙄
John Farnham spent some time with the Little River Band as the lead singer when their original lead Glenn Shorrock left the band. It didn't quite work out but John got a taste of the fame and went on to just become a sensation again in Australia as a solo artist with his song You're The Voice, which you've reacted to. John can sing all styles, huge range, loves the audience and always acknowledges the musicians he performs with. This was live of course. That's when John is at his best. Took me down memory land with this one. The guitarist was brilliant.
Mah man, I've been waiting forever for you to peep this song by this band! So glad you did. But check out the recorded version, it's slightly slower but it makes it more chill. Keep up the positive videos!
Love the original singer on the recorded version. I think you should've listened to the original recording first. With John singing they had a song called "We Two". You would appreciate it and actually his voice is more powerful.
You are correct. John replaced Glenn. I remember seeing this concert on HBO when I was a kid. John had one hit with LRB in the US that I know of: "We Two".
I live in Australia - where the band was from. In fact I live close to Little River... That was the first time I'd heard John Farnham on vocals for this track and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. He is well known in our country for his frequent farewell tours. Maybe the bring back John was a little humour? His solo album Whispering Jack is one of the greatest Australian albums of the 1980s
Released in 1986... "We have the chance to turn the pages over We can write what we want to write We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older We're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make a noise and make it clear Oh, whoa We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear Oh, whoa..." Oh whoa indeed!
The John they are referring to is John Farnham who is the singer in the video. He wasn't the lead singer through out the whole career of this band but he was with them for a while and went off to become one of the biggest Australian singers of all time (Little River Band is Australian.) You should DEFINITELY react to "You're the voice" (an absolute classic and also pretty relevant to the times still,) and "A touch of paradise" by John Farnham.
Jamal you are driving the darkness away from the this quarantined 58 year old. Need my 70's fix!!
Elmer, I’m 57 and hear you!
I get your sentiment... this version was a letdown though. Give me the real 70's version any day of the week! This one, not so much.
he is the greatest!!
Wow! I never knew John beyond the “You’re the Voice” tune! Damn that boy can sing. Nice job,
Australia!
Shit yeah he can! . He can still kill it today at 70 too ! Absolute Aussie icon
Thank you, you're welcome, from another Aussie singer! :)

John is actually John Farnham an Aussie legend. You should look up some of his music my brother
Adore John Farnham!!!
Indeed, “You’re the Voice” is legendary. “Unofficial anthem” of Australia, some have said.
I guess it's kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Ulises River i watch on flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Nickolas Connor Yea, have been watching on Flixzone for months myself :D
That’s why we call him “the voice”
Woah. Little River Band! You’re in a seriously deep 70s groove now.

Unbelievable pitch, style and delivery! Effortless!🎼🎶🎵🎤
WOW AMAZING! Don't know this man and that was my era! My first time a GREAT BAND AND VOCALS Thank you
“Take it easy on me” and “Lady” are worth listening to by LRB.
Long way there. Long version.
The best song by far is "It's a Long way there"
Lady for sure. Good tune!
And "night owls" too!
They are probably referencing the original lead singer. He was much better than this guy.
You got to check out John Farnham singing “Help” live with MSO. Best live vocal performance of all time. Help is a Beatles song

Glen Shorrock was the lead singer until 1982 when he departed,
John Farnham was the lead singer of LRB from 1982 until 1986.

I probably would have gone to my grave without ever seeing or hearing this. Just amazing. Another reason why I love watching your vids.
I need to see you react to Blackfoot-Train Train. Awesome song. Also On My Own with Patti Labelle and your FAVORITE Michael McDonald!!!! Lol
Best channel on UA-cam! So much joy here!!!
Atlanta Rhythm Section is groovy. Great players and singers. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🔥 🔥🔥
Yes, got my vote, ARS
The singer is John Farnham is he sings songs like ‘you’re the voice’, ‘That’s freedom’ and ‘Two strong hearts’ you should do reactions John Farnham was always with Little river band btw
You need to watch the original version of this song. Glenn Shorrock was the original lead singer. He does a much better job than John.
You are correct!🎶🎧
This is definitely a Glenn kinda song.
PLEASE watch the original version!! Two different worlds. No disrespect, but there is no comparison when it comes to Shorrock.
I was sooo excited to see then saw it wasn’t the original. Ugggggg lol

You should check out the official video so you can see and hear Glenn's version.
hey Jamel , i don't think i've ever requested from u though i've been watching a long time. Could i ask for the group Three Dog Night and the song " Easy to be Hard" please.......audio or studio version prefered and ty
He works for it, doesn't he! Kudos to him for a great performance of a wonderful song!
For more Yacht Rock greats Starbuck, “Moonlight Feels Right”
Firefall- too many hits to mention
America- same as above
Louisiana Larue “Heat of the Night”
Just the tip of the proverbial iceberg
Oh yes! Please! All of the above!
Love "New Orleans Ladies" by Louisiana Leroux!
May I suggest Atlanta Rythm Section (ARS).
Jerry Taylor oh yes, “So into you”, “Imaginary Lover”, “Champagne Jam” and “Doraville”
Sally Phillips you’re right, how could I forget that one?
Glad you got around to this. Farnham is fab here! Beautiful voice and lots of fun! The whole band is really talented.
This is John Farnham...you know, the guy with the pipes who sang “The Voice”.
What a truly sweet song! And Jamal you ARE a positive force!
Hey bro i love LRB! Do Help Is on His Way, It's a Longt Way There and Happy Anniversary!! Nice songs!
I love It's a Long Way There. Great guitar work
I had to come back and watch this again, great version.
Oh I’m so excited for this! LOVE Little River Band!!! Pleeeease, let’s stick with them a bit- I do think you’ll recognize some- here we go!! 💛🤘🏼
He's good, but I prefer the SMOOTH, SMOOTH delivery of the original recording.
I was going to say the same thing. The original” smooth delivery” on the studio album version is the best. The live version is too muddled for this song
Little river band's singer is JOHN FARNHAM . listen to john singing HELP LIVE .say no more. OUI.OUI.OUI
Jamel, you have to check out a song by little river band called, It's a long way there. It is a real rocking song. I think you would really like it.
Yes, great guitar work
Yes, fantastic song.
I've never heard this version but makes you really appreciate what a soulful singer John Farnham is!
Love this version, but the studio recording snatches me bald!
John did a great rendition of this song. He make it his own!
As always
John left the group and had a hugely successful solo career, he is amazing! 👏👊
You won’t be
disappointed. Glenn has great videos, singing LRB songs.
This guy is good, but not the sound we fell for.
There’s still a LRB , but no original members.
🙄
Sorry Mona, John Farnham is the Voice for a reason. John can sing and does have carisma.
Rene Farnham was lead singer after Shorrock left. To each his own🤷🏻♀️
John Farnham spent some time with the Little River Band as the lead singer when their original lead Glenn Shorrock left the band.
Maybe "Night Owls" in there too?
Mah man, I've been waiting forever for you to peep this song by this band! So glad you did. But check out the recorded version, it's slightly slower but it makes it more chill. Keep up the positive videos!
Hello Jamel, might be a good time check out" Every Kinda People" by Robert Palmer. The "baseline" version is probably the best one to watch.
YES, what a timely song. And "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley" is good anytime.
One of my all time favs
Great choice! Wake Up Everybody is another great song in that vein.
Perfect harmony, fantastic group
John Farnham, legendary Aussie singer thats him singing, jamal.
That’s not Farnham
@@unmalo2768 yes it is
@@unmalo2768 100% it is
Johnny Farnham, Australia's one and onley living legend, now you're going to have to hear
Your the voice - John Farnham 🙏🙏
John is probably John Farnham, who was their lead singer at the time of this video
thought the lead singer was Glenn Shorrock? brilliant song
Love the original singer on the recorded version. I think you should've listened to the original recording first. With John singing they had a song called "We Two". You would appreciate it and actually his voice is more powerful.
@@caerphillykid6644
He was replaced.
You are correct. John replaced Glenn. I remember seeing this concert on HBO when I was a kid. John had one hit with LRB in the US that I know of: "We Two".
This song is from their album "Sleeper Catcher" which came out in 1978. John Farnham was their lead singer from 1982 to 1985.
John Farnham "You're the Voice" the lyrics take on a whole new meaning if you think about what is going on these days.
Sandy Oh my, you are so right on this.
Released in 1986...
"We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oh, whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear
Oh, whoa..."
Oh whoa indeed!
YES!!! I second this suggestion!!!
Yes!
The original, with Glenn Shorrock, was SO much better!
Indeed
Ken Williams the original is one if my favourite songs of all time, but as a live performance this Johnny Farnham fronted performance is peerless.
Ken Williams, the original is great to listen too,but to watch the masterful voice and entertaining of John Farnham is just as great.
I'm with you, Ken Williams. That was painful. Gave me bitter beer face.
Glenn is good, but no way can he sing like John
LRB my favourite Australian Band. Loved them in Holland, now living in Australia (30 yrs) home of LRB.
