Hey Katharina, I've been waiting to see this. This photo book nook is setting comfortably with my antique cameras and books from the 19th-century. I can't thank you enough. You really are a rare talent. Much respect. To answer your question at the end of the video. It's taking pictures of old things with old 19th century cameras with the old wet plate process from 1842. Ambrotypes are my photo passion. Thank you again Katherina. We're truly honored to have your art in out home.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Working for you has been nothing but a delight. I‘m so proud that this piece has found its home with you. Take good care!
Dear Katharina, your talent just blows me away. The way you made the 4 legs for the miniature desk by hand using a knife, instead of using a 3D printer or a laser cutter, was awe-inspiring. You make everything in your work look real, so it feels like I could walk into one of your miniature rooms. The realism of your miniatures reminds me of the work of another artist in America, his name's Nick and he has a channel called 'Abandoned Miniatures." Like you, Nick takes his work to the next level. You should check out one of his videos. I've just subscribed to your channel and I look forward to seeing a lot more of your videos. Thank you for all the joy you bring us with your beautiful work. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia ❤
It 's amazing ! What a skill ! You, Katarina, must have millions of subscribers and millions of views. I am also fond of miniature (for doll): I do something with my own hands, I buy something. Of course, hand-made according to the "soul" embedded there cannot be compared with factory stamping, even the most expensive. You inspire me to be creative - I will definitely make such columns in my room box.
Great job! Thanks for the inspiration. One of my next projects is something similar, but for a dance studio on the top floor of an old building, so it's a great help to see how someone has solved a comparable diorama concept.
So so genial! 🤩 Irgendwann möchte ich genau so ein Zimmer für eine Freundin bauen, die mit solch alten Kameras Fotokunstwerke zaubert! Deine Werke sind immer wieder Inspiration und eine Freude anzuschauen!
You are so very talented, and pay such attention to every little detail, I hate thinking that unkind comments make you doubt yourself. (I also really appreciate that you show the messiness of making things, it helps demystify the process)
This build was so good to watch, all the tiny details, beautiful , the camera alone a masterpiece 😊, I learned some new things , pencil on black paint metallic, very cool ,my passion is creating my own design and radio controlled models , mostly boats , air boats , paddle steamers , paddle work boats tug boats , I love the making but always give them away for others to use , it's the build for me 😊, love watching your creations , your books are so cool ,thank you for sharing, you have inspired me to switch to acrylics instead of enamel paints 😊.
This is amazing! 😮❤ Don’t ever apologize for behind the window for instance 😊 it shows that things are unique and your viewers and fans love your work! You put so much time and effort into your videos that’s what many don’t see! You have a great perspective on the small detailing and your colors and the mood are always right! The music you provide while watching calms the soul and makes me want to watch even more! Can’t wait to see what’s coming up! Take care friend and keep up the awesome work 👍🏼☀️🫶🏼
Seeing you make that big window pane thing just gave me an idea for my stuff. I collect incense sticks after they’re burned in all sorts of colors. I’m going to try that multi window pane look as a background on a boxed animal flat scene. Thanks for the idea. This is why I love watching artists. They give me ideas to try for my projects. And something vintage suits you. You have that classy 19th early 20th century look in watching a previous video where you did that amazing little library and I saw you for the first time. You would look stunning in vintage clothes and fancy hat women used to wear.
I just found your videos & I truly want U to know this one room box has made me want to try making one....Your work is amazing & I will be watching more of your workings, but this one I'm going to rewatch after work today, I am in Awe of just how your work flows together. Thank U so much for making & sharing your videos with Us All! U are truly talented!! This Photo Room box is an Absolute, Wonderfully, Amazing, show of how Extremely Talented U are!!! Thank U so very much, U have a new fan!!!
Amazing! And to watch you level up with every new project and every video is a joy! Beautiful! I love how you do these subtle lighting in your rooms. So good!
Truly amazing Katharina, very well done! Watching you create each tiny piece of furniture is art in itself - such amazing attention to detail! The camera 'bellows' was a neat idea too. I immediately subscribed after seeing your iphone box creation - and I wasn't even looking for miniature models; it just came up on my UA-cam feed !
I love it!!! So beautiful! I know what you mean about the order of things. I always do things out of order, because I have to see it first to know what else needs to be done. I have a UA-cam channel where I show my Porcelain Doll Village in process. I'm never happier than when I'm making things!! ❤
This is so glorious. I’m watching all mesmerized and suddenly read: it will travel all the way to the US! And that made me laugh cuz idk where you are but. Like. Such an exotic land I live in! Maybe it will travel past one of those storied Walmarts I’ve heard tell of. Or those merchants of wild intoxicants know as Starbucks, called kafè, coffee or sometimes la-teh. We can only dream of such journeys.
I saw this when it came out and then waited, not patiently, for several hour to make sure I can watch it uninterrupted and with peace of mind. I am slightly embarrassed to admit how important this is to me. Yeah well, no I’m not. This is great to follow you and to see where it goes. Thank you.
What an amaizing mini studio...! Its very impress me. I have done some miniatures for my collection. Ill try to do this. Let me know the measurements. Thank you.
Again a very beautiful work (I could come up with more original phrases). And what a nice video to start the day with. This time I was wondering if you do drafts / sketches? Especially if you do commissioned work. If so, how detailed are they? And do you have catalogues or illustrated books for the historical models? Taking care of some birds and two squirrels in our backyard fills me with joy. So far this year we have had sparrow offspring at least twice, there are many titmice and sometimes a pair of robins (this year I saw a robin young for the first time!). The birds get food and a small "pool". And the squirrels always pick up walnuts - we will probably have a small walnut forest in the yard in the coming years :)
Thank you so much for your comment! When i do commissions, i sketch out my rough idea and send it to the customer, so i can get feedback from them before starting to build it. For inspiration and references, espacially regarding historical accuracy, i mostly use the internet to research. I also like to make moodboards on pinterest for every miniature. :) What you wrote about the birds sounds wonderful. My parents too have been caring more and more about the birds and insects in their garden and it makes them so happy. (My parents as well as the animals, haha)
Hello from an unusually sunny Wales in the UK. As always, an inspirational video. Just wanted to pick up on you getting nervous about questions on timeline etc. Just to reframe it; people want to make stunning creations like yours so asking questions isn't a criticism.. it's actually a massive compliment because it's them trying to copy you! Doesn't get much better than that 😁 Loving your channel. Keep posting! Curious if you are doing this as a hobby or now more a job?
I'm so glad I found your channel! Such amazing craftsmanship! Can I ask what type of wood you use for your furniture? I have read the comments of so many of your videos hoping to find the answer from someone else asking. lol I'm a very new miniaturist and love watching the real artists!! =)
Maybe apply a grey/tan wash to the books/shelves after assembly to tie things together and reduce the contrasts? The plain white ‘paper’ is a bit harsh, no? Obviously, this ‘criticism’ comes from pure adoration! 😊
Thank you! I think what you’re referring to is a scalpel, or an X-acto knife. I don’t get any specific brand, i just get them at the craftstore or the hardware store. Hope that helps! :)
You are a genius. This is beautiful and I know because I have started trying, this is NOT easy to do! Certainly not so beautifully. You should go on the TV show Best in MIniature.
I would like to see a job related miniature perhaps, please? A stage …. The dots are all yours. Pardon the intrusion, but I can highly recommend to combine hobby and profession to find ones way!

Couldn’t have said it better! 👍🏼
It's absolutely amazing how you transformed the materials! When we look at the finished product, we can imagine ourselves there, in that studio!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
