The most relaxing time I've ever had since retiring,,the enjoyment I get out of making my miniatures is unbelievable. Its whatever you have completed is just a great joy to see.Absolutely love your room in a box,so for those if you who always say to yourself wish I could do that well do it make a start.I promise you there will be no regrets,,I've been doing it now for 3 months.
The planning, the design, the tools, the cutting, the gluing. The precision. The background music. The PATIENCE! It's Everything! I'm impressed - and truly, so very moved. 😢... thank you. 💐
I have been a modeller for circa 60 years. Watching your youngs hands creating what you did gave me so much joy. You are an inspiration and also a very talented artist. That drawing!! You made the type of room with old furnishings and everything in it I would yearn to live in. Thank you!
Your attention to all the tiny details is almost magical. It must have taken hours and hours. You made it look easy. You have a real talent and more patience than most people only dream about. I look forward to whatever you do next. Just remarkable!!!!
Apple packaging is so well designed, I can't toss them and constantly trying new ideas to repurpose them. Perfect for crafting. Great idea and thanks for sharing.
@@katharinahandmade619 I didn’t notice your cuticles until you posted to not bully you about it. I am utterly captivated by your talent! Thank you for sharing (I love all things miniature!)!! 💜
I am so amazed at the work you do. You are a dreamer, a painter, an engineer and a draftsman. Many years ago, at least 50, I was a little girl living in Southern Michigan. I knew a family who had 3 boys. Each of those boys had your talent except for the youngest one. The youngest boy had talent too he could get you into so much trouble and he eventually stole my heart. I had three brothers too and so for several years we were friends, riding bikes, climbing trees, fishing and hiking. We would be friends for several more years and then my family moved out of state. Everytime I see someone who can visualize and creat things the way that you can I am reminded of my early life in Michigan and the magical summers of friendship and also puppy love that two kids can share. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.😊
Wow Katharina this is fabulous. Ive got lots of little boxes like these that i have collected with the intention of making something similar. Ive just begun my miniaturist journey and this has given me so much inspiration so thank you x
candles, roll it flat lay thread or cat gut - whatever your choice of wicks, I like using the inside metal wire from a twist tie, then roll with "wick" inside already so you don't have to try and thread a needle of a wick after candle is rolled. Leave extra long so you can trim to suit.. your woodwork is awesome
That is beautiful, in every detail and hard work is the work of an artist. It looks like the room of a sad poet, well maybe not sad, perse, but a deep thinker, we'll say. That is beautiful. Your hands and mind are an instrument of beauty.
😮 this is just what i need for inspiration. I'm busy with a book box. And the inside is a 3 story library. At times i also feel like losing my mind with making all the very small details. But its stl fun though. And your cuticles...i call them my crafter's cuticles😂 thank you for sharing your wonderful works of art. And by the way...your mini painting are amazing, and your self portrait ❤
Now I know why I kept my phone boxes..lol. I just love all the details in your work especially the quill pen. There's just 1 more thing that would make it petfect (only to me) and that would be something under the bed. Maybe an old suitcase or perhaps a pair of slippers. You have inspired me in my miniature world. Thank you.
Katharina, you are Amazing. I just went " Oh wow", and "no way" all the way through. Totally brilliant. I have never seen such tiny delicate work been done before my eyes. Every single carving, cut and bend was spectacular. Love your work. 🥰
Amazing work and I feel your pain with the books! Made a "fantasy library" book nook for a friend for last Christmas and basically turned it into an assembly line where I similarly glued printouts onto strips of scrap plywood and then ran those through a scroll saw and cleaned up the cuts. When you have to make over 200 books, you naturally end up with an assembly line project. Glued those books onto sized strips of thick paper and then glued those blocks onto the shelves.
Oh nein, wie knuffig! Dieser winzige Briefumschlag... und das aufgeschlagene Buch: ganz, ganz toll! (also, alles andere ist auch prima, aber diese Papierfitzelchen machen mich einfach fertig)😍
You keep inventing new ways to book and I'm amazed each time. Apple boxes are notoriously sturdy and this gives me great motivation to utilize mine. Great video, hope you're giving your hands a break between all that meticulous mini making :)
Simply gorgeous and I’m left feeling that I want to (and could) make something similar! At last, a craft that speaks to my love of making detailed things in miniature. As a textile worker adding stitches and fabric would be a joy too.
I started watching and then could not stop. Amazing work. And your humor made me laugh so hard. Your patience to create these tiny things “without losing your mind” is well above the average human.
Well done you. As a fellow miniaturist, I AM impressed This is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I spent hours creating in my shared bedroom as a youngster...so instead of dolls (ick) I was more interested in making furniture to scale and figuring out how to build a milk carton to the size of the fridge shelf and then lettuce that looked like it and ... etc. Put down you electronic addictions folks and get creative!
Found your channel this morning by accident.. wow your so talented . Book nook.. Weasley home.. your amazing.. I think u should talk a bit you have a beautiful voice. I joined your family. Keep up the great work
Absolutely adorable! I'm so glad to see you using many of the same techniques I used over 40 years ago when I started building dollhouses and dioramas. ❤
Excellent. The talent and time that you have put 'and the patience' into making this tiny room is lovely even down to the last little detail. I like the miniature envelope as well.
I made a cup of tea, sat down in a comfy chair, enlarged my screen, slowed down the speed…and I was in Heaven! Thank you so much for this incredible tutorial. xx P.s Olive oil rubbed in at bedtime is good for those cuticles.😊
The most amazing and best video I’ve seen in a while! Well done for making something so beautiful from using every day things, but most of all thank you for bringing me back to my childhood when I had little but made my own dolls house etc and had such fun! Lovely memories… thank you -Louise and Emily ❤
I love your background music, but I also like it when you talk. ❤ Your self-portrait is amazing, as well as your little paintings and the sculpted things on the desk. I like making little things, but I don't have the patience to make them as miniscule as you do. Kudos!!
Off the Charts, brilliance personified. You are truly blessed and gifted. Diligent hands make wealth, lazy hands make a man poor. Beautiful decoration for a Tray Riser.❤
Excellent job !!! I too make miniatures and have now ventured into making match box dioramas. Very challenging, but extremely satisfying. Thinking outside the box for ideas is a lot of fun. Who would think that slicing a white or see-through straw very thinly would yield a lot of onion rings...haha.
Mesmerizing! The tiny detailed pieces of art, the minuscule desk accessories and the hodge-podge placement of the books on the shelf--so incredible and authentic. I started to say almost realistic , but this is realistic just in a very tiny world!
Years ago craft stores used to sell "cigar boxes." They were small cardboard boxes with hinged lids. One year for the Christmas bazaar at my children's school I made little rooms in some of these boxes, complete with a clothespin doll to inhabit each one. They sold very quickly!
If someone bullies you for any reason, that shows every insecurity about that person and nothing about you! You're an amazing artist! Thanks for putting your work on video!
Everything is magnificent and then....you paint artwork!!! Absolutely gorgeous. The artwork of the moon reflecting in the water could actually be a window. You could add little curtains to it. You are very talented 🌷
I love all the parts, but that painting of the moon over the water is so cool! I have so much trouble with patience nowadays that I would have to make myself go do something else in another room so I wouldn't keep messing with things. Like waiting for the glue to try on the table legs.
To say you are a talented person would be a huge understatement. You are an incredible artist of the miniature world. I am looking forward to watching your other videos - this is the first one I saw. Thank you for posting it; it was a joy to watch.
When I see these tiny darling spaces I just wish I could shrink down and live in them! Am I the only one? 😅
I want to live in that little room
In a few years this is what the government will give you to live in.
Nope.
no.
You are definitely not the only one! This looks like such a cozy place to live!
The tiny envelope with the seal
Blew my mind. The quill !! The candles, perfection
The coolest tiny “room” I ever saw, was a miniature doctor’s office inside of an old doctor’s bag.
The planning, the design, the tools, the cutting, the gluing. The precision. The background music. The PATIENCE! It's Everything! I'm impressed - and truly, so very moved. 😢... thank you. 💐
i cannot describe the joy I felt over those little details on the bedposts, making them all cute and pretty, you’re amazing
I have been a modeller for circa 60 years.
Watching your youngs hands creating what you did gave me so much joy.
You are an inspiration and also a very talented artist.
That drawing!!
You made the type of room with old furnishings and everything in it I would yearn to live in.
Thank you!
That there is skill and attention to detail I didn't think existed anymore in 2023. You are a true artist.
Your attention to all the tiny details is almost magical. It must have taken hours and hours. You made it look easy. You have a real talent and more patience than most people only dream about. I look forward to whatever you do next. Just remarkable!!!!
I suggest he shares his talent with forensic...miniature scenes to solve crimes.
Please don’t give up your will to live, however tiny the teacup! Your creations are amazing!
Wow, thats impressive. The patience and foresight that must have taken.
The only thing better than a room of one's own...is a tiny room of one's own. 💖
Your work is incredible.
Apple packaging is so well designed, I can't toss them and constantly trying new ideas to repurpose them. Perfect for crafting. Great idea and thanks for sharing.
"The Uniqueness and intricateness of each ingredient, is as 100 percent quality based. The layout of work is breathtaking"
Those books were astonishingly realistic...😳
That's delightful, Katharina. I am amazed you painted the paintings yourself. A lovely extra hand-made touch. Well done.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
@@katharinahandmade619 I didn’t notice your cuticles until you posted to not bully you about it. I am utterly captivated by your talent! Thank you for sharing (I love all things miniature!)!! 💜
You're amazing. Thank you for sharing your craft!
Especially the tiny portrait, I knew right then...a talented artist.
This is sooo amazing and cute, a very talented artist. Thank you for sharing this it really makes my day ❤ 💕 💜 ♥
The bed, bookcase, books and desk were enough of a feat but you moved further into miniature land with the rest... Impressed to say the least!
That’s a perfect little room! Well done, so clever. 👌🏼
Pam. ☺️
Your creativity and patience is amazing!
You're a true artist 😊! This was such a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.

This is so wonderful. Thank you for your kind, inspiring words!
Your welcome!
Watching you make the books and load the bookshelf is still one of my favorite parts. 😊
Who came to see the books😊
Uss
You do such amazing work and come up with such clever ways of making things. The wee paintings were fantastic!
Just fantastic.
So young but so talented!!👍😃 All the tiny details are so adorable!-- All from an old phone box. Well 👏done!!
🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
I loved watching these as a child😭 I'm still dreaming of getting the right equipment and rebuilding the old miniature things I've done😭
The detail is incredible!!! ❤ The trick with the blade when cutting out the books is genius.
Watching you work is an experience I could do over and over. It is just amazing what you do.
I hadn't even noticed your cuticles until you mentioned it. They are JUST FINE.
wonderful little scene .. re: cuticles .. my thought was .. "Oh .. the hands of a fellow artist .. " .... :)
I agree too besides, I was looking at your work !!
Thank you! And yes, haha, the cuticles give us away :D
You're amazing! I love miniatures and you've given me some great ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Own Beautiful Miniature artwork and Pictures
Now that's Taken to Draw Pictures That Small with that much Detail
Crafters' cuticles! LOL You are an awesome artist and funny too! I understand the losing of one's mind. I guess it just comes with the territory.
Wow Katharina this is fabulous. Ive got lots of little boxes like these that i have collected with the intention of making something similar. Ive just begun my miniaturist journey and this has given me so much inspiration so thank you x
I love that you actually tell a story. Such an interesting work!!

Einfach wunderschön ,die filigrane Arbeit ist bewundernswert .
Who’s looking at your cuticles???!!! I love the random placement of the books from the floor to the top of the bookcase!
That is beautiful, in every detail and hard work is the work of an artist.
It looks like the room of a sad poet, well maybe not sad, perse, but a deep thinker, we'll say.
That is beautiful.

Brilliant! Gave me inspiration to get on with my own little cottage that I've been procrastinating on... Thanks!
I really love your videos, they're inspiring and relaxing at the same time! I do hope we will see many more of them! Grüße aus Holland 😊
I did a mini kitchen in a mini bread loaf pan using just match sticks to make everything in it. Had made to sell but like it to much and kept it.

I am absolutely in love with your art!!!! I can't wait to see more! I'm transported to a new world! ❤

Bravo, such a lot of work, but it was worth it. I wish it was an Airbnb, I'd stay there for sure!
Awesome. Nice to see a pre-industrial dwelling. Beautifully crafted , appropriate music , and nice macro shots .

I’m amazed too. So impressive!. The paintings alone were soo good! Really enjoyed watching this. Think I said “wow”, 20 times. Well done.
