The band Phantom from Mexico is badass
Definitely one of my new favorite thrash bands dare I say the best new thrash band of our generation. I think I recommended them to the Dawg in an order question but he never gave them a listen. Gotta be a PAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID question to suggest him stuff lol

Excellent album. My album of the year so far is the new Hemorrhoid. New Cardiac Arrest rules and so does the Churchacide ep. New Desolous is brutal too. New Crucifier, this year is already crazy.

My favorite 2024 album so far has been Vulture's Sentinels, which also has a Mercyful Fate vibe, but less overstated than Attic.
New Inquisition was badass as usual. Although I wish Hells was still putting out their stuff, agonia sucks
Do you like the mix on the new album? It’s a bit different, felt more “thin” to me compared to some of their other records of recent. Still a fantastic black metal record.

Morbid Saint - Swallowed By Hell. My pick for best thrash metal album of 2024.
I need to pick all these up, for my favorite Punk/Thrash/Black crossover the latest Bonehunter that came out on hells puts most others in a morgue. It will make you put the lotion next to the player and get that air guitar dusted off.

I think the best release this year would be the Deicide album!
Now that Banished by Sin has some time to be released on digital, what do you think of Deicide's recent release, or are you waiting for the physical copy to ship to give it an honest opinion? I think the two songs they put out were great, but the rest of album sounds largely unoriginal and filler. IMO Deicide has not put out a great album since 'In the Minds of Evil'. Happy to have new metal from these death titans, but considering I dropped $35 plus for this LP as a preorder, I feel like I expected more. Must be an entitled poser tho :P

I know in the true KA-VAULT metal community digital downloads seem to be frowned upon, but let me level with you, I was born in '89, I never got into vinyl, I was at the tail end of cassette tapes and had a few but my collection was all CDs. At the same time I equally love film as much as music and I've got a 3K+ physical media collection of blu-ray and 4K discs. I don't live in a mansion and just don't have space for CDs anymore so all I have are digital. BUT all the digital files I have are FLAC files converted to a lower bitrate in order to save space on the hard drive. To me this doesn't make me any less a fan, but if the DAWG thinks so well, that's just.. like his opinion, man.
J Dawg would you rather have less people at gigs with everyone that "fits the bill" or would you tolerate people that wear basketball ball jerseys and other apparel by you disapprove of. I say as long as people pay the door price and don't cause problems, I would rather have that. Plus that's more people to watch the bands, buy drinks at the bar and even buy merch
For years, I haven’t given a shit what the audience members are wearing. That was more of a concern for whatever stupid reason I made up in my mind. Back in my 20’s. As long as they’re fans of the bands playing. Who gives a shit.

I forgot they had put a new album out. Boy did it take forever.
It was alright. Better than I expected, but to me it lacked the viciousness that made those first two albums so great. Way better than the ‘06 release, but also a far cry from the highs of Chemical Exposure/Illusions and Swallowed In Black.
