Yes yes yes! Everyone wanted/wants him to be perfect or all Light, but the word was always “balance.” He is both on purpose and we finally see that in canon. It brings home the fact at just 14 she witnessed death & destruction all around her. She had no time to cope or come to reason. But this is what finally brought her peace. She was basically reborn again
RD’s acting is also amazing. Her entire demeanor changed after her encounter with Anakin. The muscles in her face, the twinkle in her eye.. she had a born-again moment with the force. Even the water imagery was like a baptism. 💯🔥❤️
Yea it seemed like up to this point she was just waiting to die and gave up on living a peaceful/purposeful life due to her legacy as Anakin’s apprentice. Anakin taught her that no matter what has happened before, she can choose to live now and give the best of herself.
Can we talk about how beautifully aggressive Anakin fighting was?? His hits were as HARD and quick as they're meant to be, fucking loved the choreography of the fights
Not only that, this is prime Anakin, he can control his emotions. He can slip into the dark side and come out of it just as easily now. So instead of revenge of the sith Anakin which was his form 5 but fuelled with rage and aggression. We’ve now got the master of form 5, editions are under control, every single blow is precise and he controls the entire fight. (I know he wasn’t trying to kill Ashoka)
Honestly, the main standout of the show for me is Kevin Kiner's score. He doesn't try to copy from John Willams' score or any other iconic theme from the past, he keeps creating his own thing while throwing some iconic themes briefly in there, and it just makes the show feel sooo cinematic. I'm honestly surprised by how little he's done outside of Star Wars cuz he's great.
@@Stop_Resisting101I would be quite shocked if he doesn't score Dave's movie. But I definitely think Kiner should be Williams' definitive successor going forward as he and his children have been able to recapture that Star Wars magic that no other composer has and have been doing it for almost 20 years now
I want more of his scores put onto vinyl. I buy all the Star Wars movie soundtracks, and I have a couple that they put out for the animated shows. They had a compilation release for the Clone Wars that covered tracks from seasons 1-6, and then there was a 7" single for Rebels that was just the Rebels theme & a remix. Would love to get more complete scores of his Star Wars work on wax, it's so good. ✌️😌
when Huyang says "they never listen" you can tell he's not just talking about Ahsoka and Sabine, he refers to all the Jedi that he has trained, and how they are all a stubborn bunch who ended up always meeting their doom. Its like he is tired of constantly losing his pupils.
Those two moments of Anakin walking away from Ahsoka during the Clone Wars flashback and him walking towards her and both times he shifted between being Anakin and Vader sent chills all over my body
@@TheMimiSardand that Vader is just a Dark Anakin..Its meant to show that everyone has a shadow of themselves but its up to us to decide or choose to let that shadow consume us or or to let it go thats Anakin's lesson to both Ahsoka and us..Vader is Anakin's shadow
I absolutely love Anakin and Ashoka’s relationship in the Clones Wars. Never did I think I would see Clones Wars in live action. Anakin is everything in this episode, he looked perfect. I was dying the entire time!!! Hats off for Dave Filoni for making this happen! *chefs kiss*
Hayden did such an amazing job blending his own performance with Matt Lantern’s version of the character. It’s such a a seamless transition from prequals to clone wars
You can definitely see the impact that this episode had on Ahsoka, the change in emotion that happened as she goes from “gray” to “white” during this episode. Goes to show that Filoni was the one to trust with a story like this.
She felt her legacy was death and war, and like Anakin says, she is more than that because he is more than turning and becoming Vader. He's not all evil, and he lived it.
I think Hayden being a dad and having a daughter in real life helped a lot with his chemistry with the young Ahsoka actress, even though she’s much older than his own daughter. And the flashback planet was Ryloth, cause geonosis was before clone wars, Ahsoka wasn’t there, only the 2nd time around which is after this.
It’s CRAZY how well of an actor Ariana is that she somehow managed to act like a young old ahsoka. Not to mention this is the second time we’ve seen her play the young version of a beloved alien woman with a red background
Hayden’s performance was really good, his face acting alone was top notch. I love how clearly the experience has brought hope back to Ahsoka and how’s that even showed with the lighting been brighter when she wakes up and her clothing Dave Filoni really is a great Star Wars director and I loved seeing Hayden in the clone wars outfit
@@luigiwiiUUthe hate and desperation he shows through only his face throughout the final act of RotS has always been so powerful to me. Hayden is such a fantastic "physical" actor. Not only his face performance, but his body performance too is top notch. Always loved how good he is at his own lightsaber stunts
That first "flashback" was in fact the battle of Ryloth, right after Ahsoka lost most of her squad trying to break the blockade above the planet. Her first mission alone as squad leader failed because of her arrogance and recklessness. It's the first time she actually felt the consequences of her actions and the lost of the lives under her command.
It was the true beginning of her characters growth. And then to end it with the Siege of mandalor, the end of her clone wars growth ark. Masterfully done
one of my favorite tropes in media is when characters have their epiphany/life-changing moments, their clothing also reflects that specific change in their mannerisms and demeanor.
Anakin understood why Ahsoka walked away from the order. It is fitting that he was responsible for guiding her back to her destiny and to heal the division in the loop
One thing I have to wonder about is when Huyang says, “They never listen.” This droid has trained nearly all the Jedi in history, so was he saying this about Ahsoka and Sabine or about the countless Jedi over the years
That ending to this episode....the sense of wonder, of adventure, of endless capabilities....of pure, storytelling magic that makes you believe in a galaxy far, far away. That's Star Wars, and it is alive and well. Notice also, after Anakin teaches her the lesson she needs, to be able to move forward, Ashoka is draped in all white. A transformation has happened, and she even felt like Ashoka, the old Ashoka we know and love. And my God, what a performance by Hayden...Clearly he has major acting chops, and gave one hell of a performance. Makes you wonder how much of his prequel performance was due to writing and directing. All in all, jesus christ this was pure Star Wars magic. Can't wait to see where this takes us. The force is alive and well, my friends. Always.
If you seen HC’s work, you can see he has the acting chops. (Shattered Glass & Life as a House are 🔥). The acting in this show is first class but this series PROVES that *writing* is key to the success
@@jandm4ever716 tbf, as bad as I feel for Hayden in the prequels, I feel worse for Jake Lloyd. That kid didn't deserve to be thrown to the wolves the way he was.
Those scenes with Anakin were absolutely PERFECT! When he ignited that red lightsaber I literally said “oh shit.” Some of those lightsaber hits just reminded you have how powerful he was. Those flashes between him and Vader gave me chills. With that armor he looked EXACTLY like Clone Wars Anakin. Hayden was on a whole other level of epicness and I loved every single second of it. Something else that I want to make sure is highlighted is the music. It was perfect and fit those scenes very, very well. I love how Ashoka seemed more hopeful when she woke up. Like she FELT like the Ashoka that we have always known. That scene with the Purrgil was glorious. The ending of this episode felt like the end of Empire Strikes Back. “Don’t worry, we’ll find them.” I can see why they showed this in theaters. Some of those shots were so cinematically epic. For real, Dave Filoni needs to be in charge of everything Star Wars. This was probably some of my favorite Star Wars ever!
Something that will definitely go un-talked about a lot more than most other topics is the way this episode was film. FIloni's direction here is superb! The Clone Wars flashbacks were masterfully helmed! He's coming into his own as a live action director and you love to see it!
Ahsoka the White! Space whales (made me tear up)! Closure with Anakin! Jacen! The Clone Wars! The score! Sound design! Cinematography! What a moving episode in more ways than one. Whew!
The purrgil scene at the end made me really emotional. It gave me that feeling of wonder I had when I watched the original series for the first time as a kid in the early 90's on LaserDisc. If I was a kid seeing space whales go into hyperspace, I would have lost my damn mind. Dave Filoni is really damn good at creating storytelling that gets to the core of why people fell in love with the Star Wars franchise in the first place.
Seeing Anakin in these scenes actually made me cry. I had to pause halfway through to compose myself, Anakin has always been my favourite since i saw revenge of the sith in the cinema for the first time as a child. How sad that i cried haha
But more importantly which Dave understands that JJ Abrams didn't and we only got to see glimpses of it with Ryan Johnson is that he only does fan service when it forwards the plot and the characters and never just because he wants a reaction from the audience. It's what makes his stories and fan service feel completely genuine. It's earned instead of displayed.
Man, this episode just gave me so many types of emotions. From just pure hype seeing Ahsoka battle Anakin again to gaining tears of joy just seeing Anakin acknowledging Ahsoka's growth and convction. The purgill's space jumps was just the icing on the cake!
At the same time, for the more casual fans who might not have seen either, this does a good job filling in some of those gaps. Obviously not a gap as large as both series, but enough to get an idea of what Anakin being a mentor would look like.
I didn’t watch clone wars or rebels. What was the main take away from the lesson Anakin was trying to teach Ashoka? The message fight or die was very simplistic.
@@HenryBenedictUSAI’ve not watched any of the animated shows either. Anakin’s lesson is about darkness and light. Ahsoka came to the realisation that in a lot of ways he was mentoring her to become a potential Sith by focusing so much on the ways of war, and her own fear that she will mirror the path he took. However as with all things there’s always a choice and knowing what it is you want to become, Ashoka had forgotten how to live due to the weight/burden she carried that she would be corrupted as a mentor too. It was that very weight that was becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. So she awoke embracing the light and learning how to truly live again.
Other thing i wanna mention, I was also a bit worried about them possibly going all in for the fan service and nostalgia bait (just like in that *OTHER* show), but I like how from the flashbacks they only focused on things that actually matter for Ahsoka's character arc. They didn't get completely out of the plot like in that Boba Fett show. Instead, the story kept it's focus and you can tell how this is made by one man's vision and nothing else. 3 episodes left, and let's hope they stick to the landing for this one haha
What made me so emotional is that Anakin uses the very pain and suffering he lived through to teach Ahsoka that they are BOTH more than their legacy and their guilt. It’s amazing so see his control over his past. He now exists as the chosen one, keeper of the world between worlds and maintains the balance of the force from there. To see Hayden perform that was so, so special.
Whoever is writing, producing, and overall putting this show and these episodes together.. LET THEM TAKE OVER STAR WARS FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE! This show has been awesome, and I want more of this!
Seeing Anakin really was intimidating and awesome. This show is insanely good. It made me want to see more of Hayden as Anakin, the fact that a Luke show isn't likely breaks my heart cause that would be perfect Luke and Anakin talking through the force
To see Clone Wars Hayden and him interact with Ahsoka was just - ❤ I also love how Ahsoka looks a lot more happy(?) or maybe at peace(?) after the interaction in the World between Worlds
"It was magic. What do you want to talk about?" Lol. You guys are the best. I love watching the show and then the reactions. For this episode the best part about this episode was Anakin showing up for Snips at a moment when she most needed him. He cares, he wants to unburden her, he wants her to live! Whew chills, that was the best episode.
"it's amazing how good of a performance he can give....when he has a good script, and someone who can direct actors". Truer words have never been said.
The stark contrast in quality when Filoni directs vs. the others is astonishing. This was the first episode that gripped me emotionally and made me excited for what's to come. This was really well done!
I think is a combination of a force ghost and a force vision to teach Ahsoka the final lesson she needed from Anakin. It's not our traditional force ghost, I would really like Anakin appearing later in this form, like in episode 6. This was an amazing form to show us that we just know the tip of the force, it can manifest in different ways, Dave you clever master.
I'm honestly impressed with how they did the de aging with Hayden with him taking and acting while being de aged considering the look at the last episode I felt iffy about and felt like him acting with the de age effects would make him look like he got stung by a bee that absolutely squished his face in but in this episode it looks good I would say although those moments where slight improvements could've been used for like a split second
I think they also varied how much de-aging depending on which scene - I think there was definitely less in the final duel scene, maybe because more of Hayden's age helps push the Fallen look.
It’s Everything I ever dreamed of, I can’t tell how many times I screamed and got goosebumps, That Vader Shot was absolutely fucking perfect along with the red eyes he had when he turned around and for a glimpse there you could see a little flicker of Red in Ahsoka’s eyes
I cried tears of joy watching anakin and ahsoka going at it and him continuing her training. This has been years in the making and I salute Dave Filoni for what he has done.
The absolute GOOSE BUMPS I got when Anakin brought out Vader’s lightsaber and seeing Vader flash into frame was CHEFS KISS! Beautiful episode. Everything I wanted!
This episode was awesome. Hayden really nailed ALL versions of Anakin in ONE episode. He truly owns this character im in awe of his performance and he really made me feel like this role is in good hands if i didnt feel that already
Ahsoka made the choice that Luke made at the end of ROTJ. She choose to protect life instead of bring death. She, like Luke, needed to face Vader once more and having done so successfully, she finaly truly became a Jedi, just as Luke did.
Ashoka talking to the whale is more of a throwback to Tales of the Jedi ep1 more than to Esra talking to them. The episode is about her as little child and communicates with a sabertooth tiger beast that was going to kill her. So she was always able to communicate with animals.
I'm so glad I was patient. This is exactly the way I'd thought this show would go. I'm glad we got to see Ahsoka grow Also cemented Rosario as Ahsoka. This episode proves why she's perfect for this role.
It has been absolutely wonderful seeing Hayden get his flowers at last. You guys are 100%. He was never the problem in the prequels. It was always the script and George's direction that led to the awkward line reads. The way he is able to show complex emotions so clearly with just a look has always shown immense acting talent, even back in the prequels.
Absolutely 1 of my favorite episodes in all of Star Wars. Just to mention, the young actress, Ariana Greenblatt is now a MCU & Star Wars alumni. A young Ahsoka and a young Gamora in The Avengers Infinity War.
That's where her stoic performances in the early episodes carry a lot more weight in this episode. Patience is a most definitely a virtue in her story!
I can tell they studied Ashoka and Anakins Clone wars personalities heavy because they replicated it so perfectly in these flashbacks it is beautiful to watch
I've already seen a lot of people talk about the flashbacks being "pointless," or them saying they don't understand what's being conveyed, and I'm just like... What's not to get? Ahsoka has always questioned what her role in not just the galaxy, but the force at large was. Ever since leaving the order, and ESPECIALLY after finding out who Vader was, she's been forced to wonder if any of her values come from the right place. This episode was Anakin forcing her to confront her past, move on from it, and embrace whatever may come in the future. It wasn't just a nostalgia trip for Clone Wars fans, and people boiling it down to that are being incredibly disingenuous. This whole show for me has pretty much been a 10/10, yet this episode exceeded my expectations in every possible way. I cried, I laughed, I giggled like a 4 year old. I felt the magic of Star Wars for the first time in too long.
The world between worlds is an encompassing of the force, so even though it’s in Ahsoka’s head, she is still actually there too. That means Anakin is also there and not just a figment or something. Crazy stuff
I was so excited to see Hayden in action again, I kinda took for granted how bad ass Rosario is with a lightsaber. Hayden and Rosario didn’t hold anything back in those fight scenes. The dedication and training really shines. Hayden showed some footwork I hadn’t seen him do before. They really raised the sword work to another level in Ahsoka.
16:04 Anakin's initial reaction to Ahsoka's act of mercy and words of hope. This episode was fantastic, I really have no words to describe the feelings it evoked.
This was just perfection ❤ Script=perfection Directing=perfection Performances=perfection Music=perfection …. Just blown away ❤ And this is from someone who’s not familiar with the animated series much! I feel hundred percent engaged and included ❤ Thank you, Filoni
What you say is spot on: Anakin's final training for Ahsoka isnt just a training but more of Ahsoka's confirmation whether she is truly ready to spread her wings and fly (live) or not (fall and she'll die) like a young bird.
Hayden Christiansen is on record as being a huge fan of the ckone wars series. There were interviews with him when Obi-Wan came out and he goes on at length about how good the portrayal of Anakin was in that show, and how he felt responsible to honor that performance. Listening to Hayden talk about the character itsvery obvious that he loves and understands the character.
I love imagining the sit-down conversation Hayden had with Dave before filming like he does with his actors. It would be so cool to hear them diving into Anakin's mind as Ahsoka sees him.
As someone who’s been on the fence with the show up until now I feel this episode really hit differently. There’s something so surreal about seeing Anakin and Ahsoka on screen together in live action. It makes you feel nostalgic for the Clone Wars days which weren’t even that long ago and imo is probably Christensen’s best performance to date.

Heh, Ashoka
I loved how Anakin dumped on the throwback line to RotJ between him and Luke. "I will not fight you"
Anakin "I've heard that before."
Frrrr
Shitttt i didn't realize that!
Yeah this is post Darth Vader redemption Anikin. So it makes perfect sense.
Ahhh i was trying to think of an Obi moment, but you're right, it was with Luke....fn genius
Doesn’t Ashoka say that to Vader when they fight in rebels? I could be wrong it’s been a while
Can we talk about how beautifully aggressive Anakin fighting was?? His hits were as HARD and quick as they're meant to be, fucking loved the choreography of the fights
Not only that, this is prime Anakin, he can control his emotions. He can slip into the dark side and come out of it just as easily now. So instead of revenge of the sith Anakin which was his form 5 but fuelled with rage and aggression. We’ve now got the master of form 5, editions are under control, every single blow is precise and he controls the entire fight. (I know he wasn’t trying to kill Ashoka)
He really showcased both sides. The flashiness of anakin and the relentlessness of vader
He used the “Burying the dead” soundtrack but pitched it down
@@Stop_Resisting101I would be quite shocked if he doesn't score Dave's movie. But I definitely think Kiner should be Williams' definitive successor going forward as he and his children have been able to recapture that Star Wars magic that no other composer has and have been doing it for almost 20 years now
The only thing that throws me off is the credit music, it sounds Game of Thrones-ish to me
@Stop_Resisting101 I like it too, it just makes me think of GoT every time I hear it for some reason and throws me off 🤣
I want more of his scores put onto vinyl.
Dude I still can’t believe what we just saw
It was a great way to show that he was always both.
Cinematic masterpiece. Those shots are legend
Sht like this really blows my mind why Lucas put Kennedy in charge and not Filoni, dude really blundered there. Could you imagine....
Can we just appreciate how Hayden swings a lightsaber around so naturally?
Goes to show that Filoni was the one to trust with a story like this.
it's straight from lotr... i love it
thats some gandalf shit right there
Loved the Gandalf the white moment for ahsoka
She played young Gamora for those that don't know. The popular meme of, "What did it cost?" "Everything" Is shared between her and Thanos
@@Phantom-un2ox Knew I recognized her from somewhere! Crazy resumé at her age, both Marvel and Star Wars.
She’s a rock star… can’t wait to see her career grow
Bro she knocked it out of the fucking park in this, genuinely felt like they ripped Ahsoka straight from TCW
She's absolutely great, nailed every part of it. even though it is a bit unnerving hearing young ahsoka with a different voice,
Hayden’s performance was really good, his face acting alone was top notch. I love how clearly the experience has brought hope back to Ahsoka and how’s that even showed with the lighting been brighter when she wakes up and her clothing
Dave Filoni really is a great Star Wars director and I loved seeing Hayden in the clone wars outfit
Hayden's facial acting was always some of the best in the industry. George Lucas ruined his performances with shitty scripts
This is why I love Filoni, dude knows hardcore SW fans focused on the details, so he doesn’t just pick any random battle here, just brilliant
The initial one was Teth. Then Ryloth and finally Mandalore
@@bemasaberwyn55 You're absolutely right. Thank you 👍🏼
Yeah I thought it was teth
It was the true beginning of her characters growth. And then to end it with the Siege of mandalor, the end of her clone wars growth ark. Masterfully done
one of my favorite tropes in media is when characters have their epiphany/life-changing moments, their clothing also reflects that specific change in their mannerisms and demeanor.
The symbolism of this episode is on another f-ing level, the subtlety holy f…the emotions, Kiner’s score is icing on the cake
Anakin understood why Ahsoka walked away from the order. It is fitting that he was responsible for guiding her back to her destiny and to heal the division in the loop
Hayden Christensen hasn't missed a beat as Anakin so good and this whole episode just gave me Clone Wars vibes
The way he said "how the whales took Ezra and the bad guys FAR FAR AWAY" it's a genius Galaxy far far away joke and i love it
This is definitely my favorite episode of this show! Hayden Christensen is so great as Anakin! 👍
Crazy how Star Wars is legit hitting its peak in this episode . A lot of meat on the bone for the whole franchise in the past two episodes .
This and Andor have really been carrying lately ngl
Yes! The young actress that played young Ahsoka also played young Gamora in Infinite War. Nailed this part!❤❤❤❤ Loved this Episode!
Holy 🤬
And she was also in Barbie.
Thats where i recognised that face!
That''s why she felt so familiar!!!!!
One thing I have to wonder about is when Huyang says, “They never listen.” This droid has trained nearly all the Jedi in history, so was he saying this about Ahsoka and Sabine or about the countless Jedi over the years
Yes. ;)
Always.
Hayden was in a movie called Life as a House around the same time as episodes 1-3. He always had the chops.
If you seen HC’s work, you can see he has the acting chops. (Shattered Glass & Life as a House are 🔥). The acting in this show is first class but this series PROVES that *writing* is key to the success
And even with the crappy writing, I believe Hayden still shines through in the prequels, especially in Revenge of the Sith
@@jandm4ever716 agree. One of my favorite movies of all time
@@jandm4ever716 tbf, as bad as I feel for Hayden in the prequels, I feel worse for Jake Lloyd.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find them.”
I can see why they showed this in theaters.
I was satisfied with the episode half way through… and then the space whales. Blew my mind. How much was delivered in one hour. My God!! ❤Brilliant
@11:27 Anakin's comments like "I've heard that before" and "I don't remember this" suggest self-agency meaning yes, it's actually him.
I enjoy the transition of anakin turning into Vader and turning back to normal with his eyes
Seeing Anakin in these scenes actually made me cry. I had to pause halfway through to compose myself, Anakin has always been my favourite since i saw revenge of the sith in the cinema for the first time as a child. How sad that i cried haha
Overwhelming fan service and I'm all about it. Dave Filoni absolutely nailed this episode. Pacing was deliciously on point.
When the big space whale put Ahsoka's ship in its mouth I cried. This episodes themes are SO powerful. Truly this is Star Wars
This is now my favorite episode of ahoska
This is my favorite episode of anything.
Man, this episode just gave me so many types of emotions. From just pure hype seeing Ahsoka battle Anakin again to gaining tears of joy just seeing Anakin acknowledging Ahsoka's growth and convction. The purgill's space jumps was just the icing on the cake!
If you didn’t watch Clone Wars or Rebels. That sucks because this tied so much together, it was F’ing awesome!
@@HenryBenedictUSAyou should watch the episode again
@@ObsessiveGeek thank you - appreciate the breakdown
I love Hayden's acting in this episode. The transition from Vader face back to Anakin after Ahsoka wins and disarms him is incredible.
So true....you can tell Ahsoka is Filoni's baby. He'd die before she's ruined. 🤣🤣
It's Dave Feloni
That would be Dave Filoni. Animated Star Wars fans have been saying this for years! 😂
I think he has delivered consistently. The fandom has known this for years and it is more than obvious that this is the way to go with the franchise.
Dave Filoni and Tony Gilroy are the only people I trust with new star wars content.
@@Hellbilly709 ripped off Fallen Order so hard. Filoni played Fallen Order and took notes lol
Seeing Anakin really was intimidating and awesome. This show is insanely good. It made me want to see more of Hayden as Anakin, the fact that a Luke show isn't likely breaks my heart cause that would be perfect Luke and Anakin talking through the force
I haven't been this blown away since season 7 of clone wars. Dave has outdone himself once again!
13:18 “God she’s so young” I fucking died for some reason when he said that. The way he said it. Just too, too hillarious
My heart hurts in the best way what an incredible experience. Give Dave the keys and more Hayden
To see Clone Wars Hayden and him interact with Ahsoka was just - ❤
I also love how Ahsoka looks a lot more happy(?) or maybe at peace(?) after the interaction in the World between Worlds
Dude on the right sounds like a wizard, like when he says "he's connected to the world between wurlds..." Which obviously is a compliment btw
Like the Qui-Gon appearance to Obi-Wan at the end of Kenobi. That would be perfect
That transition of Anakin to Vader during the Clone Wars flashback scene hits different.
Last episode Hayden's face looked off, very pale and lacking... something. But it looked great in this episode!
I think they also varied how much de-aging depending on which scene - I think there was definitely less in the final duel scene, maybe because more of Hayden's age helps push the Fallen look.
They probably just put some makeup on his cheeks and forehead and bam he’s 20 years younger again lol.
It’s Everything I ever dreamed of, I can’t tell how many times I screamed and got goosebumps, That Vader Shot was absolutely fucking perfect along with the red eyes he had when he turned around and for a glimpse there you could see a little flicker of Red in Ahsoka’s eyes
Ahsoka FINALLY understands Darth Vader was not her fault. What a gloriously unexpected way to reach catharsis
I cried tears of joy watching anakin and ahsoka going at it and him continuing her training. This has been years in the making and I salute Dave Filoni for what he has done.
Phrasing!
@@shotgundrivestheradio 🤣 true
The absolute GOOSE BUMPS I got when Anakin brought out Vader’s lightsaber and seeing Vader flash into frame was CHEFS KISS! Beautiful episode. Everything I wanted!
It’s kinda chilling to think that the Vader we see fighting Ashoka is the one Obi-Wan denied Palpatine.
“I’ve heard that before” to “I won’t fight you” the callback 😭
This episode was awesome. Hayden really nailed ALL versions of Anakin in ONE episode. He truly owns this character im in awe of his performance and he really made me feel like this role is in good hands if i didnt feel that already
Ahsoka made the choice that Luke made at the end of ROTJ. She choose to protect life instead of bring death. She, like Luke, needed to face Vader once more and having done so successfully, she finaly truly became a Jedi, just as Luke did.
Loved Hayden’s voice changing between his and vaders when they come out of the clone wars scene
I just want to say that Ahsoka has actually.used Force Psycometry before in this show. She used it in episode 2 to recall Sabines fight with Shin.
I love how Hayden got room to stretch his legs. Also love how they did the transition from Hayden to Vader then back.
Ashoka talking to the whale is more of a throwback to Tales of the Jedi ep1 more than to Esra talking to them. The episode is about her as little child and communicates with a sabertooth tiger beast that was going to kill her. So she was always able to communicate with animals.
I almost forgot about that, good call out.
I love haydens choreo in this fight. He still has the flashiness he had when he was anakin but the relentless and forcefulness of vader
I'm so glad I was patient. This is exactly the way I'd thought this show would go. I'm glad we got to see Ahsoka grow
Also cemented Rosario as Ahsoka.
It was so good to see captain rex in live action
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the CINEMATOGRAPHY!? So many shots in this episode I wanna put up on my wall.
Absolutely 1 of my favorite episodes in all of Star Wars. Just to mention, the young actress, Ariana Greenblatt is now a MCU & Star Wars alumni. A young Ahsoka and a young Gamora in The Avengers Infinity War.
Hayden also made a W in this, so glad he came back for this. It's like a complete circle
So many are missing the point that Jacen hearing them is confirmation that she is actually interacting with Anakin.
That's where her stoic performances in the early episodes carry a lot more weight in this episode. Patience is a most definitely a virtue in her story!
Hopefully we get more Hayden. He didn't say the line from the trailer in this episode. Hope thats not just a case of something being cut.
What was the line ?
This entire episode had me emotional, the ending was absolutely perfect. It brought back the true wonder of Star Wars
Modern Disney StarWars is a joke, a piece of steamy Filoni shit. You're the problem this whole IP is where it is today. Fuck you.
The world between worlds is an encompassing of the force, so even though it’s in Ahsoka’s head, she is still actually there too. That means Anakin is also there and not just a figment or something. Crazy stuff
I teared up watching the flashbacks. It is so nice to see Ahsoka and Anakin working live-action and REX
This was just perfection ❤
Script=perfection
Directing=perfection
Performances=perfection
Music=perfection
…. Just blown away ❤
And this is from someone who’s not familiar with the animated series much! I feel hundred percent engaged and included ❤
Thank you, Filoni
Definitely watch the clone wars, it’s amazing! And Rebels is important for this series as well lol
My main takeaway from this episode is that Anakin finally found a way to stop people from dying.
I forgot how good Hayden looks swinging a saber! I need a series lol.
The way Anakin walks into the smoke of war with the clones
But when it flashes and he’s Vader, he’s all alone.
It hurts
Hayden in Anakins Clone Wars armour was one of the best things to come out of disney star wars 🔥 🔥
