6:10 I'm not sure if you missed it, but when Ahsoka says "I won't fight you" and Anakin responds "I've heard that before" is a nod to Luke saying that same line to Darth in RotJ
Exactly Ahsoka: "I won't fight you." Anakin: "I've heard that before." If it were Ahsoka manifesting Anakin, she wouldn't know about that moment in such detail.
I know it’s Anakin but devil’s advocate, the force would know Luke said that too. I think they purposely left it ambiguous til later in the story to keep the audience intrigued. I knew it was Anakin from his interaction and not what he knew, but what he didn’t know. He didn’t know events he wasn’t present for, the force would have known the battle of Mandalore and things Ahsoka experienced without Ani
It just tells you how in control he has now after everything he's been through he can finally fulfil his wish which was to save people from dying and now he's able to do it for Ashoka. I wonder if he's coming back for season 2
Just look at how Ahsoka's entire demeanor changes after she comes back from the World Between Worlds. She got closure, she completed her training. She is Ahsoka the White.
It is not an Ashoka memory, it’s actually Anakin… The 2 clues they give us of that are: 1. Anakin saying “I’ve heard that before” acknowledging his battle with Luke after he said he wouldn’t fight him 2. During the Siege of Mandalore, he said “I don’t remember this battle”… because he wasn’t there, and it wouldn’t make sense if it was a memory
When Ahsoka said she won't fight him, Anakin said he's heard that before. This confirms this is not only Anakin, its post-Vader Anakin. Who's fallen to the dark side, and came back. This is who he should've been all along. This was his final lesson, that sometimes it's better not to fight. A lesson he learned from Luke on the Death Star. This episode is quite literally the best piece of Star Wars I've seen in years.
I must say, seeing Hayden Christiensen Anakin Skywalker interacting with Ahsoka really tugged on my heart strings. It’s just so good. I’m a Clone Wars kid and it’s so good to see these two together again (especially after their duel in Rebels). Anakin wasn’t just teaching Ahsoka during the Clone Wars… he was also teaching an entire generation of Star Wars fans.
That's 100% Aniken finally taking on his mortis father roll... jumping from the Darkside, the light side and changing form to.. all to teach a lesson.. they make it pretty clear that it's not just a memory or in her mind..
The episode also, if I’m not wrong, has Anakin reference Luke when she says “I won’t fight you” Anakin says “I’ve heard that before” which I took to be a reference to Luke on the Death Star saying “I will not fight you father” which means that Anakin ghost because Ahsoka wouldn’t have any knowledge of that
I think Anakin’s lesson was that Ahsoka spent a lot of her life trying to not be involved. She walked away from him, from the Jedi order, and from Sabine. She was afraid that being involved would lead to caring too much and eventually turn her into something like Vader (as she referenced in their conversation on Mandalore), which is why Anakin asks “is that what this is about?”-then turns into Vader so she can decide to either let the apathy and fear destroy her or fight to find her path back to the light. It’s mirrored in Sabine’s pride keeping her from coming back to Ahsoka, and Huyang suggesting that “perhaps it’s time to begin again”. They both have to let go of their past pain and move forward together-in a way that Anakin regrets not being able to do for Ahsoka.
Anakin in the world between world hints multiple times that this is really him. Listen to the dialogue again through out his final lesson, he is speaking to an older Ahsoka.
@@SarahLandry577 Yeah, I mean its not false or not interesting what he says, but they rather should write their thoughts down and discuss it after the episode rather than missing like 1 minute of content and easter eggs
It is the real aniline, post return of the Jedi, he remembers convos from his time with luke e.g “I will not fight you” which Ashoka wasn’t present did the fire he can’t be her memory. There’s a comic book that explains deceased Jedi can become coporial in the world between worlds as it’s a realm between life and death.
Ahsoka wanted to give up and quit fighting, Anakin showed her the lesson she needed to keep fighting. Ahsoka wanting to live was his goal here boys and girls
Hector - my interpretation was, in that moment, Hayden was Ahsoka’s subconscious manifestation saying “If you stop fighting, you’ll die” and that was *literally* referring to her battle, unconscious in the water, to survive. It works on multiple levels though, both the way I say here and also as an indictment of Anakin’s teachings (and the order writ large) as you suggested.
When Ahsoka says "I won't fight you" Anakin replies "I've heard that before", that line is a reference to Luke telling Vader that he won't fight him. Ahsoka has no way of really knowing that detail, so it is Anakin's force ghost, not her subconscious.
Anakin's lesson for Ahsoka was less of a "lesson" in the schoolyard sense and more of a life lesson. Ever since we saw her in The Mandalorian and probably prior to that, Ahsoka has been going through the motions of "living". She's suffering from depression due to internalized guilt over what happened with Anakin. She's not LIVING, she's just existing. That's why afterwards, her demeanor changes
Hayden's performance in this episode is incredible. He plays 3 distinctly different versions of the same character and I can always tell which version it is without having to rely on visual cues like his attire or what lightsaber he uses.
That is actually Anakin! When Ahsoka says “I will not fight you” Anakin responds by saying “I’ve heard that before” referencing his fight with Luke when luke says “I will not fight you father”
Hector, when Anakin told young Ahsoka the if she stops fighting she will die, he was referring to her fighting for her life in that moment, fighting to stay alive in the ocean
I think you guys are misinterpreting the choice of “fight or die”. Ahsoka was literally dying. Her body was drowning, it was only her spirit that was in the World Between Worlds. He wasn’t telling her that fighting and war was her legacy…the opposite is true. “You’re more than that. Because I am more than that.” The “fight or die” was about her literal life or death, that she needed to choose to live, she needed to fight for her life and not give up. Not give up on herself as a teacher and not give up on Sabine as an apprentice. The word “fight” means a lot of things, both positive and negative. Ahsoka also needed to work through her despair over Anakin becoming Darth Vader. This was a way for him to show her that he has both sides within him, but that he was redeemed in the end. This really was the best episode of the season and it has so many layers.
13:15 I love how the other two reacting how they should to images and loving it and you got Hector other there still chatting about what Anakin said and how "wrong" he was
Love the reaction of Agustin, he is always in the moment and lets the scene to breathe. This was a monumental freak out episode yet it felt so emotional and reverent. The stillness of some scenes mixed with score and the way Anakin looks at her was amazing.
When Ahsoka said "I won't fight you" and Anakin says "I've heard that before." He's talking about Luke in ROTJ so that implies it really is Anakin not a hallucination.
I was so looking forward to this reaction. That clearly was force ghost Anakin. Loosing her will to live and to fight on. In the end Anakin was finally able to save someone he loved and he did not need the dark side to do it. He was desperately trying to save Ahsoka in the World between Worlds. And he managed to do it.
"One is never too old to learn, snips". He was 45 when he died. Ahsoka is 47. To me, the lesson he was teaching her was the difference between surviving and living. It was the last lesson he learned, from Luke, when he was her age. From the moment he betrayed Ahsoka, she's been surviving, and her purpose, her conviction, gone. She's got no friends, family or companions around her, no attachment, just as a Jedi should be. But Ahsoka is no Jedi, and like Anakin said he's now passed on the final lesson he learned to her, even what he learned in his final moments. And then as he's smiling and remembering about his last lesson by Luke, she says, "I won't fight you" and he chuckles, because that's also what Luke said to him before that last fight. You live, truly live, or you die just like he did when he became Vader. Just surviving is as good as death. At least that's my take on it.
I think that's the point of her eyes turning yellow in that last parry. She was so afraid of turning into vader (after all part of me is within you like my master is within me). Look at what she did to Sabine, the first time of trouble, Sabine loosing mandalore, Ashoka left her. There is also the point that you don't just turn evil, you make that choice to do so, hence her throwing away the saber. She won't fall, because she won't make that choice to do so.

It is Anakin it's not in her head. Ahsoka : I won't fight you Anakin: I've heard that before That a ROTJ reference when Luke tells Vader he won't fight him
Anakin was referring to Ashoka not fighting anymore about anything therefore she wasn’t really living. She….had too much fear and it was holding her back.
The fact that at 5:59 when Anakin says, _“…or die.”_ that they use the *exact same framing* for his lightsaber ignition as when he killed the younglings in the Jedi Temple hits me in the soul every time.
There was definitely something about this that was tickling all my RotS vibes. That and later when he ignites it again on Mandalore, it just feels so much like the shot on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith where he is framed from behind (although it switches back when he is about to ignite it), and the cloudy/smoky haze just gives me those same vibes. Filoni has always been right on at getting those visual nods to the prequels even when the scenes themselves aren't carbon copies.
One of my favorite things about this point in the series was how much "lighter" Ahsoka's demeanor was after her time in the WBW. The white outfit is indicative of the newfound outlook that she has. She smiles, she basically says "I don't know where we're going, but that's okay" -- both of which stem from the metamorphosis into Ahsoka 2.0.
Yes its actually Anakin, and no she wasnt in the water during that "lesson". His quote about "hes heard this before" and she wouldnt know how he looked when Sith in Episode 3. Idk how they missed that the world between world is a place!?
Every Clone wars fan lost their absolute shit this episode. It warmed my heart so much all the nostalgia people have for it watching everything in this episode, Foloni did an amazing job with visual storytelling in this episode
Ahsoka experienced enlightenment. Before her encounter with Anakin in the World Between Worlds, she felt distant, cold, and resistant. But since her encounter, she felt inclusive, freely, and calm.
This was Anakin. He directly reference his duel with Luke when he said "i heard that before" and he didn't knew recognized Ahsoka fighting in the siege of Mandalore. This was no hallucination. He was there to show Ahsoka that she is not doomed to have the same fate as him, that she can make different choices to herself and to her padawan. Which she learned after he baited her with that lightsaber taking move and she didn't give in to her anger to strike him.
It’s Anakin for sure imo also the lesson about fighting isn’t part of a flawed Jedi perspective. It’s a metaphor for choosing to live and actively move forward rather than giving into fear and allowing death. Darth Vader was bad and did horrific things yes but Anakin didn’t become him because he was evil, hence why Anakin can be more than the worse parts of him. Ahsoka was hung up on his failure and he needed her to move past that.
The theory so far goes that Anakin actually did talk to Ahsoka thru the WBW, because when she goes thru her memories and they end up at the Siege of Mandalore Anakin says "I don't know this battle". Because Anakin wasn't there. And since Anakin was as Father said to replace him and maintain the balance of the force, he could be doin just that after he became one with the force.
I noticed Rex the second it panned over to Ani and them standing there. I lost my mind. It was even better when they gave him a line and made him the main focus of the shot. 🍻🙌
I think it was for sure really Anakin Skywalker, because after Ahsoka says she won't fight him, he says 'I've heard that before'. Luke said that to him, and Ahsoka probably wouldn't have known that. Also, Jacen is named after the eldest son of Han and Leia in the old EU, who falls to the Dark Side and is the main inspiration for Kylo Ren. Overall I was a little let down by Ahsoka, but this episode was everything I could've wanted and didn't know I needed.
The World Between Worlds is pure metaphysics. It exists outside of normal time and space, but is very much real. Thats how Ahsoka comes back in Rebels. Via TWBW. That is to say, that was really Anakin. Anakin in totality, as he exists with the force. And that was really Ahsoka. Those characters really got that moment. So fucking sick.
It’s weird that no one sees past the linear. Anakin (may have) pulled Ahsoka into the WBW and kept her mind fighting to keep her physical body alive. That’s why the lesson is “live or die.”
ITs the Battle of Ryloth @11:20 Also, no, that is 100% Anakin as a force ghost in all his power and glory that is 100% full potential Anakin. @18:50 the whole lesson is she needed to accept her destiny and accept that Anakin become Vader and it wasn't her fault it was his destiny as the chosen one. If you guys remember the Mortis Arc, He's become the Father, Ahsoka is the Daughter bc she literally gave her life for Ahsoka, hence why Morai the owl follows her, and i think Baylen is the new Son.
First off, that was Anakin and second, did you notice Ashoka eyes was yellow? And i sooo loved this episode, not only the whole series but the music, i words cant describe.
Remember the Mortis Arc when the Father switched between the light and the dark when fighting Anakin? This is what Anakin is doing now, he is the Father. Dave is all about expanding the lore in new directions and I really think that's where he's going with this story. I believe he's doubling down on The Mortis story, by saying Anakin is fulfilling his role as the chose one, and by incorporating Abeloth into the story via a Nightsister connection.
Love the channel and reactions guys! I was so hype for yall to watch this one. The guy on the left talked WAYYYY too much or trying to discuss theories during so many important parts! PLEASE wait till the end to discuss theories or thoughts! lol
Its actually Anakin, not a Force thing. Notice when Ahsoka said "I won't fight you' Anakin replied with "I've heard that before" he was talking about Luke. So this is Anakin AFTER he's been redeemed
Watching this I wonder how many caught the reference when Ahsoka says "I won't fight you." and Anakin replies "I've heard that before." to me that was a clear reference to Luke saying "I will not fight you Father." In return of the Jedi and then Vader provoking Luke into a fight by referencing Leia. That helped seal the deal for me that this was Anakin's Force Ghost returned to teach Ahsoka her last lesson. But very few of the reactors I've watched seem to catch it.
I think it was really Anakin and he is the Mortis father now, that Ahsoka died and her soul went to the world between worlds and Anakin taught her to live - he stopped a person he cared for from dying (learning to pull her own soul back into her own body and live rather than just die.) I think the hint he's really Anakin is that he says 'I've heard that before' when she says 'I won't fight you.' She doesn't know about that moment between Darth Vader and Luke. Also Jacen heard the lightsabers so it was happening in a different realm.
Of all the craziness and awesome moments of this episode, my favorite part is seeinf Ahsoka start to smile and laugh and joke again. She got some excellent closure with Anakin here and she has chosen to live, not just to continue existing.
It's Anakin. "I won't fight you" "I've heard that before" references a conversation that Ahsoka wouldn't be aware of. "What happens if I want to stop fighting?" "Then you die" Is what he's trying to tell her, if she gives up here in the World Between Worlds she will die. Your chorus of "That's wrong, that's not true" over and over was the actual falsehood. Hera has a photo of Kaanan on the dashboard of the Phantom 2 seen in an earlier episode.
I’ve been waiting for this one! I knew you guys would be beside yourselves, especially Adam and Augustine. You did not disappoint. Like you said, probably some of the best Star Wars content ever.
It hinted it was “real” Anakin when he said “I’ve heard that before” after ahsoka said she wouldn’t fight him. That was the line Luke used in ROTJ to Vader. Anakin in this version has achieved a balance in the force with his ability to switch between his Anakin and his Vader personas. He has found a balance where he is both the light and dark sides of the force and has finally achieved in death his goal of revenge of the Sith to “keep those he loves from dying”. Which is what he wanted to do for Padme. He was only able to achieve it as a force ghost because he finally understood how to walk the line of the light and the dark. In ROTS he uses the dark side to try to save Padme which doesn’t work. Nor does it when he tries to save her as a Jedi. He is able to save Ahsoka by empowering her to save herself.
Yeah I’m pretty sure that they capitalized on Anakin being a force ghost at the end of Jedi and I totally bought that was Anakin as a force ghost teaching his final lesson.
Ahsoka could not have hurled herself into the World between Worlds. She doesn't have that knowledge.' Last time Ezra pulled her in. So it is most likely that Anakin as a Force Ghost saw she needed help - by that time he *is* the Chosen One - pulled her in, to finish her training (finishing the unresolved issues between them) and help her mend her spiritual wounds.
I think it is Anakin’s spirit. I have 2 reasons why. 1: Anakin remember’s hearing “I will not fight you.” He heard that from Luke. Ahsoka was not there, and I doubt Luke gave her a scene by scene break down of what happened, and second, he did not recognise mandalor. If he was a projection from Ashoka’s consciousness, he would have known that it was the siege of mandalor. Also, as a bonus, Anakin taught her something new in his lesson to her. If it was a manifestation of her consciousness, then she already knew that lesson and this is way less impactful. So I choose to believe that it really was Anakin’s spirit returning to give her a new lesson and guidance just like Yoda, qui gon and obi wan

Jacen hearing the lightsabers was kind of like my favorite part
It didn't make sense that Hera could hear them tho
Yes its actually Anakin, and no she wasnt in the water during that "lesson". His quote about "hes heard this before" and she wouldnt know how he looked when Sith in Episode 3. Idk how they missed that the world between world is a place!?
Every Clone wars fan lost their absolute shit this episode. It warmed my heart so much all the nostalgia people have for it watching everything in this episode, Foloni did an amazing job with visual storytelling in this episode
Fantastic episode - forever grateful to Dave for this reunion, and really enjoyed your reactions!!!
That is Anakin. He would have access to TWBW's, just as Qui-Gon did on Mortis.
Are people just missing the fact that this is most def Anakin but now he has taken his place as The Father?
Ahsoka experienced enlightenment. Before her encounter with Anakin in the World Between Worlds, she felt distant, cold, and resistant. But since her encounter, she felt inclusive, freely, and calm.
it wasn't a dream guys, she was actually, physically there.
That was definitely Anakin and not in her mind. That is how Jacen could hear the lightsabers, the whole confrontation took place in the Force.
Thank you!
This was about Anakin teaching Ashoka to not hold herself back because of her fear about what he became.
Ahsoka is making the same journey as Gandalf did, she falls as gray and comes back as white, with more power and wisdom.
I’ve waited so long for them to react to this episode. Hayden Christensen reprising his role as anakin was amazing I’m glad they enjoyed it
Adam completely fanboy-ing over the Ahsoka/Anakin scenes is top-tier wholesome content.
Hector and I have something in common. We both talk..... a lot lol.
I noticed Rex the second it panned over to Ani and them standing there. I lost my mind. It was even better when they gave him a line and made him the main focus of the shot. 🍻🙌
Sorry Hector, I think it really happened. Otherwise Jason would not have heard them fighting with the lightsabers!
Its Anakin at the peak of his power within the living force.
The absolute pure joy of Agustin's face!
Making staged combat look good is not easy, and not every actor has that talent. Ariana Greenblatt did an amazing job with this role.
You all notice how Ahsoka sitting in the ship telling Hera... "I will find them... I promise"... Just like Lando did at the end of ESB
Her entire demeanor and mission changed. Her primary objective became finding Ezra and Sabine. And yeah, nice callback
Hector. Please react only on what you see and save your long theories for after the episode. Please stop doing that.
Hector is beginning to ruin the reaction videos.. and turning me off watching
It’s weird that no one sees past the linear. Anakin (may have) pulled Ahsoka into the WBW and kept her mind fighting to keep her physical body alive. That’s why the lesson is “live or die.”
@@clockworkm finally.. I dont get that people dont see the literal symbolism in this episode. The whole episode is written like poetry.
Love seeing you guys happy
The Chosen One can make of the World Between Worlds as he pleases. Anakin can pull people into and out of TWBW.
@HeroesReforged,
18:59 The easiest answer is the correct one, Hector. Don't overthink it =)
Just want to give props to DP Quyen Tran, btw. Not all of it is Filoni alone!
Its how you choose to fight that really matters. You must always fight to live. Anakin is right
Young Gamora what a casting here too
First off, that was Anakin and second, did you notice Ashoka eyes was yellow? And i sooo loved this episode, not only the whole series but the music, i words cant describe.
Remember the Mortis Arc when the Father switched between the light and the dark when fighting Anakin? This is what Anakin is doing now, he is the Father. Dave is all about expanding the lore in new directions and I really think that's where he's going with this story.
I believe he's doubling down on The Mortis story, by saying Anakin is fulfilling his role as the chose one, and by incorporating Abeloth into the story via a Nightsister connection.
ANakin it's true. If she stops fighting, she will die. That's the all lesson Anakin had to give her.
Love the channel and reactions guys! I was so hype for yall to watch this one. The guy on the left talked WAYYYY too much or trying to discuss theories during so many important parts! PLEASE wait till the end to discuss theories or thoughts! lol
Hector always talks way too much imo.
It was Anakin.
Love the channel guys but please stop talking so much, you miss so much that you talk over...love your guys energy but it gets frustrating
I know! Missing out on so much cause they are discussing. Especially the guy on the left talking about what's right and what is wrong.
@@ayo1855 Ikr? Like damn dude, do you even want to watch?
You guys talked a little too much on the big scenes 😅
Any chance of a regular upload schedule? Or at least an update when you may post reactions - would be polite to your subs. Thanks!
Ahsoka was literally dying in the water that's why Anakin said if she stops fighting she would die.
Oh shit haha all the thinking I’ve done about this episode and its meaning, I never even clocked that perspective 😂
You missed half of the episode, please save the talking to the end
I'm really happy that Hayden is getting some love in these latest live action shows. The guy really steals the show when he's on screen.
you guys are for sure taking your time with this
filoni popped off with this one
Anakin shows up doing things and saying things only Anakin knows.
Hector: "Maybe its just a hallucination of Ahsoka's consciousness"
Anakin has taken the role of The Father. He's basically a force God at this point.
Man I have been WAITING for y'all to react to this one. I dont think that big dumb smile left Adam's face the entire time.
Yeah I’m pretty sure that they capitalized on Anakin being a force ghost at the end of Jedi and I totally bought that was Anakin as a force ghost teaching his final lesson.
18: 00 sometimes you just got let a scene breathe and just not overthink it and let the action do the speaking.
Ahsoka could not have hurled herself into the World between Worlds. She doesn't have that knowledge.'
Last time Ezra pulled her in. So it is most likely that Anakin as a Force Ghost saw she needed help - by that time he *is* the Chosen One - pulled her in, to finish her training (finishing the unresolved issues between them) and help her mend her spiritual wounds.
This episode was a breathe of fresh air, never gets old, like the younglings.
ooph! 😂💀
The fans were fed with this episode. So so many highlights. I was looking forward to your reaction. It didn't disappoint. :)
Its 100 % Anakin. He's finally taken his place in the force, Mortis.
11:28 she said it was their first missionctogether
It definitely was really Anakin.
17:57 no that’s actually him
