Modern drones like the Mini 3 Pro provide a lot of protections against crashes that include technologies that can identify an object in its path and avoid it. In this video I explain the differences between basic Crash Protection and the more sophisticated Obstacle Avoidance. Thanks so much for this lesson. I'm so relieved to discover my Mini pro plus will have all this new tech. IVe had a Mavic Pro Plus since they first came out and rarely used it for fear of crash. I hope to learn more by using this Mini4 first. After mastering it, I can feel more confident to master The pro Platinum.

Hey Rick, I picked up a M3P a month ago and have only scratched the surface using it. Thanks for showing us the difference. I think I might use propeller guards for a bit just because I am so new to flying. But for the money, the M3P is perfect for what I would ever do. Awesome channel, Rick! Greg

Just got mine delivered today. Flew it around a bit, but nothing crazy. My heart was thumping when it reversed out of the woods. Can't wait test this out.
Thank for the demo sir. This is the tipping point that will drive my purchase today. I know the MP4 will have even better detection and camera abilities but the price is getting a little steep at that point.

Thanks for a very informative video. I have a Mini3 Pro. Whilst I have enjoyed using it hugely I had hoped to be able to use it as Follow Me on a motorbike along trails. My experience is not nearly as positive as yours and the drone has flown directly at obstacles a couple of times and destroyed my confidence in OA particularly when flying backwards....having seen your video I guess it is possible what I am experiencing is a fault rather than defficiency in the tech. I will try it again. Thanks.

I'm not keen with the term crash detection. That's to me to be a technology to deploy your car's airbags.
Maybe object detection vs object avoidance?
Will obstacle avoidance work also in VERY low light on Mini 3 Pro? I had a Mavic Air 2 a couple of years back that hit a thin lamp post and hit it straight on ruining gimble and destroying it and camera. Had to buy another

My M3P is having issues with intermittent obstacle avoidance detection. Have you experience this?
I have a Mini 3 Pro and had no idea the OA was that good.
I got sensor activated on breack or first avoid abstacol but not breack and no avoid (drift ) i just crash in my house why senzor don t work?
Does obstacle avoidance work in 4K60 or 4K30?

Hard not to get a little animated when I get excited about tech. This quad is years ahead of where drones should be and an amazing product for anyone looking to start flying.
