DJI Mini 3 Pro Obstacle Avoidance Test with Active Track in Dense Forest
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- In this video, we'll test the DJI Mini 3 Pro Active Track feature with obstacle avoidance against dense forests to see how well it handles difficult scenarios. Will the Mini 3 Pro be able to follow me as I run through the woods, or will it get lost?
If you want a drone that can handle difficult obstacle avoidance scenarios, check out the DJI Mini 3 Pro! This drone features Active Track, which allows it to track and follow you as you run through difficult environments. So, in this test, we'll see how well the Mini 3 Pro handles complex obstacle courses!
If you missed the first one, this is DJI Mini 4 Pro on the same route in a ULTRA Low Tracking Obstacle Avoidance Test: • ULTRA Low Tracking DJI...

Thank you for this test!!!
Like I told you, at tracking from behind the Mini 3 Pro could be even better than the Mini 4 Pro. It has more resolution without the fisheye lenses into the front and sees 25m instead of the 18m of the Mini 4 Pro.
Especially in the leafe-tunnel, but other places als well, you could see that the M3P reacts earlyer and didn't fly that close to the leaves like the later reacting M4P did.
DJI made a compromise with the Mini 4 Pro. 360° obstical avoidance but with les resolution ( = les detection distance). Nice for tracking slow objects but not that good if you ride with a bike through a tight.
But the new 360° Tracking features are realy nice. Hopfuly the Mini 5 Pro can see again further in all direction for faster Tracking
love being able to see the mini move . thanks for the "behind" the scenes angle.
Very wonderful work and effort. Bless you,❤
watching from Iraq❤❤❤
You destroyed the mini 4 pro tracking from behind greatness over mini 3 Pro in one blow 🌬️🍃
I would say the Min3 pro makes a better effort going forward and backwards. Providing you are walking on a fairly straight path the sensors will detect obstacles
You need a chiropractor's adjustment to the left side of the hip :) Thanks for the test!
Very daring my friend! :-) I crashed my Mini 3 Pro into trees in follow mode. I tried to hide the RC in my jacket pocket and must have pushed something. Whoosh went the drone sideways and snapped off props.
Wow, this is the 11th "Ultimate" Obstacle Avoidance test I've seen this week...
That's quite amazing! Great video!
You covered every angle.👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I like seeing you having fun and laughing. :-)
It’s amazing how technology has improved
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA Absolutly! I'm 44 now, had from the first home computers up to a modern pc all this stuff and have been using phones with a dial (I hope, you understand, what I mean) in my childhood and youth. I always wanted to have my own show and broadcast and now, it's so easy to do so from everywhere, even with flying cameras. Plot twist: I still have no show. ;-)
Thank you ❤❤❤
Thank you for doing this! Potentially some benefits for the 4 but the 3 pro certainly still holds its own. Plus it can currently still go above 120 meters - for now! I think going from a standard 3 or below the 4 is worth it but from the 3 pro, not quite enough for me. Plus I like how the 3 looks for some reason, the 4 is a little more bug looking 😅.
I think the same. Even if waypoints was the feature I most wanted on drones there isn't enough to justify switch to the Mini4 Pro C0.
Within EASA it's almost the same to fly a C0 or a C1 and if I upgrade it will be to the Air3 C1. However, if I buy the Air3 C1 I will keep the Mini3 Pro to take on my travels outside EASA countries.
i like it. dji mini pro 3 has made a good job ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think the mini 3 pro did a smother job with less problems than the mini 4.
Iirc the mini 4 does have two modes of AT, standard and smooth? Maybe that's a point to check too.
@skycamvideo You have not claimed your giveaway price? (it's not a scam)
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA how do I claim it buddy ? Have you emailed me ? I haven't seen an email.
Excellent Henrik
What I've noticed with the Mini 4 pro is that its side sensors cause the drone to make turns way to wide when there is plenty of space to actually make a smooth short turn around a tree for example. The Mini 3 pro doesn't have that problem, because it's blind at the sides.
I hope DJI finetunes this on the Mini 4.
Hi! I detected the same with mini 3... no wind, but when doing POI she increased the distance to me. I had the same as in the vid, but with a lamp post.
I woukd say you need to do the test at the sane time to be fair, especially because dynamic light, weather and environment conditions.

I got the 4. I don’t like obstacle avoidance. It feels weirds. Maybe I’m trying to resist it idk. I don’t like making stick inputs and my drone doing nothing or something else. I tried it on a street lined with trees. I am guessing I need to give it some practice in an open space or something.
Nice 🤝🤝
Hi Henrik, do you have a information sheet setup that you/we can show to curious bystanders ? Thanks.
Synes at 3 pro klarer det lidt bedre
Is anyone really going to fly your drone in such a scenario? I get your testing it.
First
For them who haven’t got a mini 3 pro can get whole package for less than £400 everyone selling them all over the place
Test it from above the top of the trees, that's the real test.
So it can’t see me? That is more a tracking test and not so much OA
Funny how, truth be told I had less problems with my mini 2 than my mini 3 pro, just bec it didn't have sensors for active track, it was technically a more less prone error drone than anything else, just because you didn't commit to doing crazy stuff.
I can empathise with that even though I have the Mini 3 Pro: I don't want to make it use it's sensors if I can avoid it by piloting carefully. My only crashes (one big, two tiny) were due to stupidity. 🙂
