Editzzz Tv yes! The reason I get super nervous is because I’m so focused on if I’m in the correct spot and not actually how good I will perform lol

TBH I don't really like spiking, sometimes I dread spiking time when it's time to practice it. My favorite time is service time and spike-and-receive drills. Idk I just don't enjoy spiking. My teammates think I'm weird cause they usually hate receiving drills and when the coaches watch our services closely. I'm so weird XD

    Want to jump higher???
Do these! If you do them consistently, in 1-2 months you will see improvement
Feel free to add weights :)
    -Calf raises x20
    -Ballet squats x15
    -sumo squats x15
    -squat hold 1 min
    -jump squats x15
    •things to remember!!!
-use your arms to jump, it will give you more momentum
-go really fast so you can jump higher
-position your hips to face the setter, it will make your hit powerful
-use your non-dominant arm to aim and follow the ball. I call it archer pose
-keep working on it! I love volleyball and I’m so happy people agree. The sport has grown so fast and there are many amazing people that find they are awesome at it!! You guys got it!

Both are correct. The main thing is ending with your left step as your last step if you are a right handed hitter.
So for a 2 step approach, it would be right, left
For a 3 step approach, it'll be left, right, left
And it'll be the opposite if you are a left handed hitter. Right, left, right

The redhaired girl with the white shirt reminds me so much of myself! (Also have red hair). I wish I had this kind of coach, she always tells us not to jump. I am very short and can't get over the net without jumping

(partly bc im left but i tend to copy others and take the steps for right-handed hitters and mess it up once i have to hit it-)

I disagree that elbow should go first in swing. This hurts shoulder, makes attacker lose height and power of spike and gives poor ball control on high level of volleyball. From my experience elbow has to stay from the side during spike, approximately on the level of shoulder. I am an ex professional player and several times in my career I had to correct my technique to stop hitting with elbow in front
Everything else I agree and it is interesting and useful for me, because I'm going to be volleyball coach and right now I teach new players, most of them have zero knowledge.
    Thank you for this video

That's just how you should move while spiking, throwing, etc. Otherwise you restrict yourself from actually, properly following through. At least that's what my coach told me and how I perceived it.

Dmitriy Vdovin Oh I'm sorry, I agree with the coach from this video. Your (I'll just say) theory may be true though, it's just how I thought it's best. Maybe I'm just confusing something.

Skysky no u r supposed to contact the ball at the highest point so the ball can go down and start your approach when the ball is in the setters hands

i had my 7th grade girls try the 2 step approach drill, with the hope of just doing something different would help their approaches, most of them are unable to do the drill. I tell them it's more of a jump than a step, but they end up just charging the net and never turning their hips to the wall
