Hey Gary, great tutorial (plus intro video) and just the information I was looking for. Tamu and I thank you aaand please pass on our gratitude to Disagreeable Daisy for the laughs generated from her entertaining chatter. You can't beat the loving respectful bond that you have to earn from a dog with a mind of its own. This video was a perfect example of that but also, very importantly, how to keep that behaviour healthy too - no scolding or reacting to her protestations ...aaand that is exactly how you have that level of respect and trust from your pup. Brilliant Gary, I look forward to exploring more of your UA-cam contributions. Thank you!
Hi Cheryl, I'm thrilled my videos helped you to help Tamu. Thanks for letting me know. I'll pass it on to now 14 year old Daisy. She's still grumpy when you try and move her, but other than that she's a pretty happy gal. Glad you laughed along with us! : ) Best, Gary C.

Oh my gosh, talk about great timing! I was tossing the ball for Angel and as she was running she suddenly yelped. I couldn't see an environmental cause ( hole, sharp rock etc) but she was clearly in pain, repeatedly repositioning herself. I palpated and felt a lump the size of my palm above her right hip. Started doing fascia release, but it seemed to distress her, so watched this video and realized I was pressing way too hard. Took a lighter approach and saw an immediate change! Thinking I should avoid fetch as Angel loses her dang mind with excitement becomes oblivious to anything but her ball. Thank you for this step by step video, being able to help ease my dog's pain is a huge blessing! Daisy is awesome and very clearly loved and respected! You've become my Guru! Blessings!
I miss her every day. She had 16.5 great years. I'm thrilled she's still helping her fellow canines. Thanks for commenting. The video still makes me laugh. Best, Gary C.
Yes, yes...Daisy Dog was very sweet, but she did get a bit grumpy as she got older. This video still makes me laugh! Thanks for commenting. All the best, Gary C.
Our Rat Terrier was 19 y-o when she passed away at home. Casey got massages for years. I heard that growl whenever I booted her from the sofa. She didn’t like to be moved either. Thanks to you both for the chuckle.
Hi Paige, Thank you for the confirmation that I'm not the only one with a lovable, but sometimes grumpy, Rat Terrier. Daisy is very sweet, but she doesn't like to be moved, haha! All the best, Gary C.
Thank u thank u!! I just tried this on my dog , he loved it and I feel like I can do something to help make him more comfortable. Thank u and I'm heading over to check all ur videos! Thank you so much! 😃
Thank you Gary, your technique definitely worked on Bob's shoulder, his hip is painful now, it locked today 😔 ill try these and hopefully they will ease his pain 🤞, he's such a great patient for me
I just watched your video of Bob. So very cute. He reminds me of my Rat Terriers. I'm thrilled my videos have helped. Keep up the good work. Warm Regards, Gary

Daisy Dog is definitely a bit of a "Diva" in this video. Rest assured, like all California movie "talent," Daisy was well compensated with treats after the video shoot. haha All the best, Gary Crowley
Thank you. I will give this a try as my Cur has some hip issues in her old age. Hope it will make her more comfortable. Good girl, Daisy. You are adorable. :)
Thanks for making these videos! My 2 1/2 yr old pup has hip dysplasia and it has really been bothering her lately. Recently I noticed the area around her hips were very swollen, and she was definitely feeling it. I would feel those spots and they would feel like balls, just very swollen and hard feeling. I massaged her using your techniques and by the end of the massage, the swelling had gone down tremendously. She instantly felt better and was acting so happy, my poor puppy. I will definitely keep doing this for her.
Hi FaithShekinah, That is wonderful to hear. I'm so happy to know your pooch is feeling better from teh use of my videos. Thanks for commenting! All the best, Gary Crowley
Hello LuLu Renee, Yes, yes, please do! There should be plenty of muscle tissue to release, and thus much pain relief possible, on a big pooch like that. All the best, Gary Crowley
Good video, i had to comment and say that Daisy sure wanted everyone to know who's the boss in the house, lol. I can assure anyone who thinks that Daisy didn't like it, that she is putting up a front... and it works for her every time, lol, i have seen many youtube videos of dogs that were in pain and really didn't enjoy the way their joints were yanked and pulled and too much pressure was put on their painful muscles.... not Princess Daisy... you are a good dad.
I have a 10.5 yr old 84 lbs. black lab- he's a rescue, a bit feisty, very long bodied. Going to a holistic vet this week. Normal vet says white blood cells are elevated, that's it. Thinks it may be a neurological reason why he is unbalanced, has weak back legs and his head is swaying. Let me know if you have any idea. Thanks for the video.
I adopted a senior a year ago. She's had hip issues since before I got her, but just in the past month it's gotten to where she can't stand very long. I'm really hoping to just make her comfortable. Lucy is a skinny little dog, and her hip muscles have started to atrophy. Do you have any tips or suggestions for massaging atrophied hips? And thanks for the video, and I love Daisy's sass.
Hi Ann, I do think Lucy could benefit from you working on her. If her hip joints have really deteriorated then you'll have to work on her daily, but you can still give her relief from pain. While there may not be a lot of tissue to work with just work between the bones as much as you can. The good news is that you'll be able to get at the tendons and ligaments more easily...the bad news is that with less muscle mass it will be harder to give more permanent relief. Hope that helps. Sassy Daisy sends her regards. Best, Gary C.
I'm glad you laughed and learned. That's great to hear. I do miss my Daisy Dog, but I do love that her video is still helping her fellow canines. Thanks for commenting. All the best, Gary C.
My dog Bigfoot is 13 year's old and his right hip is hurting him bad, I've gave him pain meds and it doesn't seem to be working. Thanks for the video I'm working on him now. Thanks alot for the video. BTW Bigfoot is a pit bull mixed. He is over a hundred pounds so he definitely has trouble getting around and his age.
Thanks so much! My room mate's dog has hip dysplasia, and while a muscle is a muscle to me (massage therapist), I don't know my way around dog anatomy. I'm looking forward to being a little more effective now. :)
+Shandra C. be carefull, the dog with dysplasia are very painful and you must to be very very gently with them, because if not, you could produce more pain. But please, give masage your dog, it will be very gratefull ;)
thank you and Daysi for making these videos! ♡ I just found out my 5year pup has disk problems, I believe like herniated disk, in he's lower spine, and is also starting to show signs of hip dysplasia, so this would be great to try on my pup to relieve some pain and stress from he's back. Which I also plan on doing for my other dog as well since they are both the same age and have possibility of developing the same diseases. Once again thank you very much.
You are very welcome. Before Daisy I had Barney, who had very similar issues as your dog. These techniques helped him immensely in his old age. Your dog is lucky to have you! Best, Gary C.
Love, Love, LOVE this series of videos! Thank you so much. We are fostering an 8yr old rat terrier / chihuahua mix. He is healing from a patella surgery and has back issues. We though he'd have to be put down but I begged to keep him a little longer. These videos are great he loves being massaged and has shown dramatic improvement. Wishing you great success in all you do. :)
That's truly wonderful to hear. Daisy passed away about 6 months ago at a ripe age of 16. I'm thrilled her video is still helping others. Thanks for letting me know. All the best, Gary C.
I was on here looking for myself , but my Golden Retriever is thrilled! He loved it.. Your little Daisy was quite entertaining, lol. Thanks (and my knuckles feel much better too - after doing one video :) Your videos are awesome!
Just curious and this is new but our Jasper was fine all day. This evening his left rear hip started bugging out of nowhere. I'm trying to rub/pet the area possibly ice it. Any suggestions on what to do especially for the randomness of this. Thank you ahead of time
Hello, Follow along with the video as best you can and release any tight spots you find. Just be persistent and I think your pooch will appreciate it. You can do it. Best, Gary C.
We took Rex our 13 year old min schnauzer to the Dr today because he wouldn't get up and has trouble walking and standing. The Doc believes Rex has a pinched nerve and not hip dysplacia. If in fact he does have a pinched nerve, will massaging help or is there another approach I should consider? Thank you for posting the video.
Michael Carlson Hi Michael, Yes, my techniques should help. Releasing the tight tissue will help create more space and freedom and hopefully keep the nerve from being yanked on. Go for it.All the best, Gary Crowley
my 1 year old pitty was diagnosed with lyme disease. the one month she didn't have her flea/tick treatment she must have gotten bit. shes on meds for it but still she is very stiff.she limps and her back legs are so lame. all her weight is carried by her front legs and you can see a significant amount of muscle loss in her hind legs and butt. her booty is so tiny and stiff it really makes me feel sad. she has trouble sitting/standing and when she sits it's not on her butt. it's more like shes sitting on her side because it hurts. shes so young! on top of all this she tore her acl. we're trying to avoid surgery but we shall see. im going to try this massage.however, do you have any other tips? i was thinking of trying a warm jacuzzi bath?
Hi Donna, That's a tough one. No I really don't have any more tips for your situation. If I think of any I'll come back and let you know. Best of luck, Gary C.
Hi! Thank u for this post! I just found out my dog has hip dysplasia and I want to learn everything I can to help him. Do u have any other tips or information that will help us? Please...... 😄
Hi Angela, My free website Do-It-Yourself-Joint-Pain-Relief (click the link in the video description above) has videos for every joint in your body, and for dogs I have hip, neck and shoulder pages. There's a Dog Joint Pain Relief link at the bottom of my Nav Bar on my website. And my Site Map page has links to all the Dog Pain Relief pages. Hope it helps. All the best, Gary Crowley
"Daisy doesn't really have any physical problems, she just has attitude problems" - HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! It sounded like she was going to rip his face off! I'd have just left Daisy alone, lol.
i think my pit has hio dysplasia his hind leg literally pops out of his hip when he walks i shall try this ... also for pain i hear cbd glycerin helps alot of dogs with joint pain ...
+vaping bros (THE VAPE GURUS) I would think it would help. You may have to do some regular maintenance to keep it free. And "yes," I'm all for whatever works from wherever you find it. Best, Gary Crowley
My girl got attacked by neighbor dog about two weeks ago and is slowly going down hill. She eats and drinks but finds movement difficult. Pain is in her neck. Your video helps but i have many questions still
Hello, Sorry to hear about the attack. The trauma from an attack is a bit different than the joint issues from old age or exercise that most people are using the techniques for. It may take a bit longer with the swelling and possible tissue damage you can't see. I'm glad it's helped a bit and I do wish you the very best. I'd keep working on your dog at the level she can handle and hopefully things will continue to improve. All the best, Gary Crowley
Too funny! I had a Jack Russell that was my best friend until a girl friend came over - at which point I got the full snarling growling attitude routine.
If you think you may be doing it too hard or too deep then ease off a bit and do it at the level they can relax into. And if you can't do that, then there may be something more serious like a tear or a break, so a trip to the vet might be in order. That said, I do know some dogs (my friends dog Kobe for one) who is quite the drama king and will squeal and yelp at the slightest hint of anyone doing anything at all to him. When my friends take Kobe to the vet, you can hear him screaming from the waiting room, and the vet will stick his head out the door and say, "Just so you know, we have not even touched him yet." So you'll have to take into account the level of your dog's drama, but always err on the side of caution by doing less. Hope that helps. Best, Gary C.
I still have no idea what to do! My shih tzu Maltese is 6 years old and we believe he has arthritis in one of his back legs. He is in a lot of pain? Can someone help?!
HELPFUL OH YEAH CHEERED ME UP NO END DAISY IS A STAR IN THE MAKING LOL AND SHE HAS THE TEMPERAMENT ALREADY SHE IS GONNY GO FAR YEAH RIGHT OUT THE DOOR AS SOON AS SHE CAN ESCAPE FROM YOUR TENDER TOUCH LOL
Of course I believe that young puppies may have these kinds of dietary supplements too. My daughter's half a year old dog has had a few issues with his joints. The veterinarian suggested us glucosamine and I came across a high quality one at amzn.to/1qkTL6t. Her puppy is progressing excellent now and I suppose you can give glucosamine to your puppy too. Good luck.
ROFL "she has attitude problems"... I'm laughing so much!! I'd love to see how you got her on her side... (I hope I don't get the same response when I try this!)
Hi Angel, Oh, so you noticed I edited out getting Daisy on her back. haha! I do recall her getting pretty grumpy. She was a bit of a drama queen : ) Daisy passed last year after 16 great years. Thanks for making me laugh once again about my times with Daisy Dog. Warm Regards, Gary C.
@@garycrowley1 Ahhh Gary, I'm sorry she passed - I was wondering if she was still with us in body (always in spirit). Terrific age though. Wonderful memories I'm sure - and some brilliant laughs, they bring such joy... You take care and stay safe - I'm going to try my hand at this in a bit.
Hi iemanjaus, This is true! But she was thrilled to be able to help out her canine friends in need. Of course, she waited until we were off camera to let me know that, haha Best, Gary Crowley
I still miss her "grumpy" self everyday. We all know how "the talent" can be difficult at times. Hope you found the video helpful. All the best, Gary C.
I am not agree with the video. The dog shows a lot of "signs of calm" that means what the dog is not conformtable with the massage. The most important thing with dogs is put treatment without pain, why? because if we give pain, they dont trust in us. Other thing is...the dogs bit... be careful my friend. Sorry but I am not agree with the video, because give masage to animals I think is not too easy, because you need to know their rules and Gary, you dont "read" the signs in this video.
Okay I didn’t understand a word you said. Clearly you don’t speak good English. I really don’t like seeing these comments from people who pretend like they’re saints. A dog in no means should be able to growl like that. If my dog ever did that, I would pop her once in the butt and she’d never do it again. My dogs obey me and at the same time, love me. I do NOT beat my dogs- but sitting there and laughing and thinking your dog can’t do any damage against you, is wrong. An animal like this one in this video is not an animal you can trust.
ArtsyGamer It seems pretty obvious that English is not the person’s first language. However, that has nothing to do with the validity of their opinion.
Daisy's hilarious!! What a character -- I love her! She's a scene stealer and the way you talk to her is cute! Thanks for useful tips!
Oh yes, she's the star of the show! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I do hope it helps.

Oh my gosh, talk about great timing! I was tossing the ball for Angel and as she was running she suddenly yelped. Michael Carlson Hi Michael, Yes, my techniques should help. Releasing the tight tissue will help create more space and freedom and hopefully keep the nerve from being yanked on. Go for it.All the best,
Gary Crowley
You can see the dog thinking " did I just get laid ?"
Paul H no. Thats just you
Can I get my dog extra strength pain reliever.acetaminophen. she has kidney problems
my 1 year old pitty was diagnosed with lyme disease. the one month she didn't have her flea/tick treatment she must have gotten bit. shes on meds for it but still she is very stiff.she limps and her back legs are so lame. all her weight is carried by her front legs and you can see a significant amount of muscle loss in her hind legs and butt. her booty is so tiny and stiff it really makes me feel sad. she has trouble sitting/standing and when she sits it's not on her butt. it's more like shes sitting on her side because it hurts. shes so young! on top of all this she tore her acl. we're trying to avoid surgery but we shall see. im going to try this massage.however, do you have any other tips? i was thinking of trying a warm jacuzzi bath?
Hi Donna, That's a tough one. No I really don't have any more tips for your situation. If I think of any I'll come back and let you know.
Best of luck,
Gary C.
Hi! Thank u for this post! I just found out my dog has hip dysplasia and I want to learn everything I can to help him. Do u have any other tips or information that will help us? Please...... 😄
Hi Angela,
My free website Do-It-Yourself-Joint-Pain-Relief (click the link in the video description above) has videos for every joint in your body, and for dogs I have hip, neck and shoulder pages. There's a Dog Joint Pain Relief link at the bottom of my Nav Bar on my website. And my Site Map page has links to all the Dog Pain Relief pages.
Hope it helps.
All the best,

"Daisy doesn't really have any physical problems, she just has attitude problems" - HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! It sounded like she was going to rip his face off! I'd have just left Daisy alone, lol.
I started doing this for my 7lb min pin and the difference is almost immediately noticeable thank you!
That's wonderful to hear. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
All the best,
Gary C.
i think my pit has hio dysplasia his hind leg literally pops out of his hip when he walks i shall try this ... also for pain i hear cbd glycerin helps alot of dogs with joint pain ...
+vaping bros (THE VAPE GURUS)
I would think it would help. You may have to do some regular maintenance to keep it free. And "yes," I'm all for whatever works from wherever you find it.

My girl got attacked by neighbor dog about two weeks ago and is slowly going down hill. She eats and drinks but finds movement difficult. Pain is in her neck. Your video helps but i have many questions still
Hello,
Sorry to hear about the attack.
All the best,
Gary Crowley
I used Unflexal handbooks for that.
Too funny! I had a Jack Russell that was my best friend until a girl friend came over - at which point I got the full snarling growling attitude routine.
Yep, those ratters are a loveable feisty crew, for those of us who "get it." 😂
My 10 year old boxer was falling asleep ……🤔 is that a good thing?
+Kristian Morrow
I would think it is a good thing, and a compliment on your good work!

My dog yelps when I start doing this. Should i continue anyways?
Best,
Gary C.
Love the dog. That is how they are. So funny
I still have no idea what to do! My shih tzu Maltese is 6 years old and we believe he has arthritis in one of his back legs. He is in a lot of pain? Can someone help?!
If my techniques didn't help then your dog may have torn something. I'd recommend heading to the vet.
Best,
Gary C.

Total Diva! 😂
lol, I love your dog's personality! #feisty
Hi Marilynn,
All the good folks out there love Daisy. I'll let her know you are among them, haha! Thanks for commenting.
All the best,
Gary C.
Helpful video
Warm Regards,
Gary C.
You can use Unflexal instructions to learn about workouts guys.
I wish my dog was that calm. He growls when i try to rub him, even gently
My dog is five and she can’t put weight on her back legs
My dog is fat as fuck he’s 140lbs and When he walks he just started to wobble his hips. Let me see if this helps.
0:48 smack smack smack
2:35 grrrrrr grrrrrrrr grrrrrr
I do miss my Daisy Dog. Just watched the entire video again. Hope it helped.
My dog fell off the pool deck and when I left his leg up he cries
My bully walks a bit wobbly in the back, I think this is what he needs.
Her temperament is just like my wife ..lol
🤣
the growling means stop molesting me hahahaha
Lmao the dog!
Very funny dog
Lol our doggie so funny
Hi iemanjaus,
This is true! But she was thrilled to be able to help out her canine friends in need. Of course, she waited until we were off camera to let me know that, haha
Best,
Gary Crowley
Does your dog bite?... No. Grrrrrrrr-snap!...I thought you said your dog didn't bite!.... THAT! in NOT my dog.
My favorite scene in the original Pink Panther movie! "It's not my dog." Love it!
It's originally from a Jack Benny skit.
Daisy is not down for this . grrrrrrrrrrrr
people ...please consult your vet before doing any at home massage.
Lol at daisy
Lol pretty confusing for my first video
The dog says No.
Daisy did her service for the greater canine good, and was well paid for her services with dog treats of many flavors. ; )
That's good:-) but despite all the bribes, she did not appear to like the job at all.
daisy is feisty, doesn't want to cooperate.
I still miss her "grumpy" self everyday. We all know how "the talent" can be difficult at times. Hope you found the video helpful.
All the best,
Gary C.
She's still mad cuz you stole her tail when she was a pup.
Her tail was long gone before I rescued her...
@@garycrowley1 😍
😂
😊
She does not like to be on camera, grrrrrr
lolololo
I am not agree with the video. The dog shows a lot of "signs of calm" that means what the dog is not conformtable with the massage. The most important thing with dogs is put treatment without pain, why? because if we give pain, they dont trust in us. Other thing is...the dogs bit... be careful my friend.
Sorry but I am not agree with the video, because give masage to animals I think is not too easy, because you need to know their rules and Gary, you dont "read" the signs in this video.
You didnt watch the video then.
