- Monster Hunter is about to change. Capcom recently confirmed that they have a game that they expect to sell millions coming out before March 31st. Plenty of people are speculating that this will be the next monster hunter game after monster hunter rise and monster hunter rise sunbreak. A Monster Hunter World 2 if you will. Whatever it is, it's coming sooner than you think, and it may not be very similar to Rise at all!

The next Monster hunter needs to make the monsters BIGGER like they were in world
Agreed. I'm not complaining or anything and I love Risebreak, but seeing Zinogre in that game compared to Iceborne really had me surprised by how much smaller it seemed
I agree, but it's worth noting that the monsters in rise are the same size it's just that the camera makes the monsters look rly small :/
@@DaBap21 You're only partially correct. Using my previous Zinogre comparison as well as ingame models and sizes, we can find that the average Kamura region Zinogre (around 1450cm) is almost the same size as the smallest small gold crown Zinogre from the New World (around 1530cm)
The camera definitely has some influence on it too though.
As long as hitboxes aren't bad..
Tbh Not every monster should be really big especially the ambush predators like Nargacuga. Maybe in specific circumstances like if you were fighting like a joke event for a gold crown or like EX silverwind. But bigger isn't always better. Deadeye is my favorite example for it. Deadeye Yian Garuga is a deviant that is smaller than the base version of Yian Garuga. However it is more aggressive, more angry, and it's a much more enjoyable fight than a big yian garuga.
Capcom releasing a game they expect to sell big in March? MH 20th anniversary being March 2024? Oh yeah, it’s all coming together

World with craftable decos and cheaper layered armor would be nearly perfect
craftable decos but RNG talisman? or craftable talisman with RNG decos? i prefer the latter tbh
@@bufosp in an ideal world I would want both craftable but that won't happen so I prefer caftable decos and rng talismans cause all the decos outweigh a single talisman so it's a lot less grinding to get a certain build you want and if you want to settle for a good but not perfect talisman for your build its very little grinding.
@@deviljoegaming both has some pros n cons sure, but it'll depend on what kind of endgame the game will have. if it has proper endgame hunting cycle, then RNG decos would be better. if it doesn't have a proper endgame hunting cycle, then craftable talisman will be suitable.
this is because:
- RNG decos will have a "power creep" mechanics. you may not get the desirable decos in the few hours of hunt, but every single decos you get will accumulatively add to your hunter overall power. 1 health deco may not be worth much, but keep collecting them and you'll be able to build something. of course there's some limits to it(10 health decos would be a waste), so adding some sort of "recycling decos" mechanic would be ideal (like recycle talisman in rise or recycle decos in iceborne)
- RNG talisman on the otherhand, will always based on luck. you can have your ideal talisman in your first endgame hunt (or even before endgame hunt) and you won't have anything left to do on the endgame hunt. you basically wait for the next update for the next content. but it's also possible that you need to grind forever and won't ever get your desired ideal talisman until the end of the game cycle (final update).
World and Iceborne endgame mechanics was related to deco farming. it incentivized player to keep hunting. albeit, there was some need to fine tune the rate, and IIRC, there was some bug in the first cycle of World related to this.
Rise endgame cycle was related to talisman farming, hence, wasn't a really good mechanics. however Sunbreak engame cycle wasn't related to this, so i guess it's okay in the end
Worldborne RNG deco, imo, is a better mechanics due to serving its purpose to incentivise the endgame hunt cycle, while Risebreak talisman deco doesn't.
again, it'll depend on what kind of endgame cycle the World 2 will have
I would like a white fatalis raid similar to safijiiva
So rise? The only thing people prefer from world is graphical fidelity seemingly because the community as a whole and especially the japanese playerbase which is the playerbase capcom cares THE MOST about pleasing care more about the games feel and gameplay loop which rise outshines World on at every turn in regards of armor and skill design, weapon diversity and gameplay variety as well as it's improvements it's made in accessibility and monster arena design. I love World a lot but all the people I see asking for something like world again don't want to move on from a game that's 5 years old and already had a sequel in the ways of iceborne and to a lesser extent rise. Monster Hunter 6 will be Monster Hunter 6; not "World 2" a "World 2" will never happen no matter how many people want it because Monster Hunter does not plan obsolescence it innovates to the highest degree. Just like how World is very different from MH4U, MH6 will be so alien from World that it will in fact be it's own game of it's own merit; incomparable to world much like the previous monster hunter generations we've gotten for the past 20 years. You can wish for whatever you want but don't get your hopes up, I swear I see this every few years. It's old and tired just look forward to the new game.
As a MH fan I can assure you it is not a cycle. The games are actually by two separate teams that alternate their releases. We will probably get a more realistic approach in the next entry, but not because of some cycle. (You can’t call it a cycle if it’s only happened twice, especially since all the way up to my 4 they went for a more grounded approach overall with a few exceptions for spin-offs, generations was also considered a spin-off and not main line.)
indeed
Pretty sure generations was also kinda of a love letter to old MH games since world was just around the corner.
The question can be fix faster : Mh rise = Covid. That's that simple. Capcom had no reasons to "downgrade" from world IB to Rise like this except if they had development issues, like covid
This is actually some what false, there’s no such thing as two dedicated teams at capcom, rather a handful of people of upper management (like a separate game director) will begin the early ground work for a future title whilst the bulk of devs move to whatever project has a higher priority.
That’s why dlc like title updates are trickle content it’s because it’s actually a much smaller number of developers left to work on those whilst the majority of the devs move onto the next game.
So calling it a cycle is somewhat correct but not because of any specific reason rather it’s just another game directors turn who has a different vision.
The whole two team thing really does not make any sense anyway, when would they do it that way instead of having full access to the work force? Right now sunbreak is over and mh6 is the main priority. Trust me they don’t have a whole second team doing nothing whilst the framework of the next title after 6 is completed.
Only select people are gonna be working on whatever game comes after 6 right now, they’ve got to settle on the story, setting, deciding what they want the game to be, what platforms? And how much content the game will have before it’s full hands on deck for that title.
Technically speaking, this two style setup has been present from the start, the Mainline/Portable split, staring with MH1 and Portable 2nd, which was still gen 1 despite the 2 in the title. E.g. MHTri vs Portable 3rd, 4U vs Generations, and of course World vs Rise
I love Monster Hunter, they literally always add new mechanics to their games, lately it feels like companies are moving backwards (cough cough Bungie cough cough) but some just keep it fresh and new. Shows what happens when they listen to their consumers/communities.
Something fps games and FIFA never can do 😂
And most new mechanics suck (underwater combat, clutch claw, wirebug nonsense, etc), not to mention stupid changes to weapons that make them worse than the previous iteration (except for LS, that thing gets all the love from the devs)

I wish it turned out to be true. No MH Wilds until 2025 :(
Yeah the game ended up being dragons dogma 2. Welp still not too long of a wait still fingers crossed
I think they could add 2 things:
1- crossplay, i saw last week multiple people looking for others to play across all platforms if capcom decided to unify them all it resolve the lack off people playing on the future like currently is on world
2- cross save, not much popular than the 1 but i think it would be very good, like imagine you playing on a ps5 or a series x and them you would play on the go on a steam deck, i personally think of this because i played world on a xbox one and he is pretty much dead (he can't handle some games an im not upgrading until 2025) so i moved to pc but man +400 are "lost" on that xbox save and i feel bad about it
What i want is dedicated servers. Capcom is too stingy with this.
Crossplay and cross-saves would be great, I agree! I wish I could move my pc save to my switch so I didn't have to start again, but could still play on the train.
Do any games have cross saves? Or do you mean cross progression for multiplayer games.
Crossplay would be great especially with finding people to play with when the game starts dying down a bit like with world there's still like 20k people playing yet I can never find anyone that actually wants to play public

Mh wilds is coming in march 2025
Monster Hunter Wilds: about that...
Despite the RE franchise being the company's biggest seller so far it's still pretty crazy that the two most recent monster hunter games outsold the best selling RE game
RE is pretty overrated these days. Hell the old ps1-2 era games were their best work.
Bought all of them up to 5 a few months back and the remakes were always the worst ones. 2 was ok but I still prefer the original. 3 remake was pretty boring and weirdly enough it was one of my childhood games so it really shouldnt have been. So I got the original for 4 and it was great.
People say remake for 4 is good but honestly I say if it aint broke dont fix it. There is a reason why these games got popular originally so dont let zoomers tell you "potato graphics bad"
in mhr, I found the button combination too complicated, I ended up playing HBG with a shield all the time.
Underwater combat? SEA MONSTERS? maybe new or returning insect monsters and maybe just maybe an Insect elder dragon or an equivalent of an elder dragon bug type? And yes, I'd like to see more weapons. Maybe a bare handed karate variation, something like Wild Hearts Wagasa, dual pistols or a bad ass slingshot and maybe something like a Hunting Horn but a guitar that can hit monsters with status ailments and sound waves. Similar to hunting Horn, buttttttttt this one will be more elemental /ailment focused would be SUPERRRRRR.... COOL
Idk, Sunbreak HH was already pretty element focused. I do agree though, another very fast weapon and/or another team buffing weapon would be cool. More bugs and water combat also would be awesome. Maybe an underwater insect, like a waterstrider that can dive or something similar.
im not sure if you know but in case you dont mh tri's whole thing was underwater combat which seems a lot of people hated for being slower which kinda sucks because the sea monsters kicked ass imo
@@tinman7549 Tri was my first game back when I was like 10, I didn't remember water combat fondly. But recently, I played with some friends on the new Tri community servers, and the water combat is honestly really good. The march sales for 2024 is probably Dragons dogma 2. It was just announced that MH Wilds(6) will be releasing sometime in 2025
Hope the wire bugs and the dogs stays its so easy to move around
From what they've shown so far, it seems that the concept of palmutes will persist.
No
There will be a dog-like bird wyvern mount called a Seikret, but no wirebugs
To many, including myself, wirebugs over-trivialized Wilds' movement to where exploration straight up wasn't a factor beyond collecting spiribirds. On top of that, the wirebug attacks were also not quite the fairest for the monster either. Monster Hunter is a game where you're supposed to feel like you're in an uphill battle, but with the wirebugs, the monsters are flailing trying to keep up and miserably failing
@@IndominusRex-wc1ey ok

Well this aged quite well
I feel like we need some sort of bundle pack, like the GTA collection, with MH1, MHFreedom, and MHTri, with enhanced graphics/gameplay. I feel like that'd hold the community over until the next *major* title.
the next big capcom game is probably dragons dogma 2
As long as there are big meaty hits like there are in world, I'm happy. There might be bigger numbers in rise, but you're definitely hitting harder in world
I am personally hoping that for the longsword we get the ia sheathing length of World, but but have the Quich sheathing level usage of Rise.
The game they expect to make millions with next march is dragons dogma 2.
Can't wait for 21 September
One thing that undeniably needs to be added is monster part trading- this would help with farming so much
Oddly enough I hope the hunters are slower in the next game but the monsters are around the speed they were in base world so we don’t get massive AOE attacks like Lunastra.
I would love a huge open world MH game resembling world more than traditional MH/rise, no loading screens, you can go from town to the actual hunting areas by just walking there (or with palamute) taking a quest from the board tells you what area the monster can be found in and you'll have to track it down. Various small towns/villages or even bigger cities scattered across the world that have different quests for different monsters etc.
I mean does it make sense that I see rise more as a sequel to four and monster Hunter world being more of a new take and wilds being more of a sequel to that than anything
Hope the silkbind moves come back, genuinely had fun with those
more like new weapon skill moves maybe, unless the slinger in Wilds is a "Not a Wirebug" accessory 😅
If thats so about the best them were is the palico playable like in generations?
The trailer showed a hunter riding a monster, like in stories, but realistic and it looked more open-world
Hmm don’t know if u were right or wrong with this one because while they seem to be going back to more streamline with the adding back of the clutch claw and including rideable companions like rise, the open world aspect might be considered more on the experimental side
I really hope they keep switch skills, I like customizing my weapon to how I like to play! I loved the sword and shield in rise but could never get into it in world!
Man, I just want them to remastered the OG monster hunter as I love them so muc
I miss playing mhw good old time, the behemoth and farming KT weapons with different players was so good man 🔥
Honestly, I'd say it be like world , but probably have the wirebugs to move around faster and some of the monster skills like furious for furious rajang gear. But obviously, power up the monsters so they can keep up
Main reason I really love this series so much because each game will feel different from one another
I'm pretty sure they meant dragon's dogma 2 which ended up badly.
Monster hunter is always dependable. Damn good game series.
I think that game that capcom is hinting at is most likely Dragons Dogma 2.. because MH would definitely overshadow that games release and I know Capcom wants that game to be a huge success

If I can't keep the new LS parry mechanics I'm gonna be sad.
This isn’t a cycle. Arguably MH3U was more realistic than MH4U, and I know a lot of people who say second gen was peak because it had the most “realistic” survival based systems, and had very punishing combat. The only thing you noticed is that monster Hunter experiments with mechanics while keeping its core gameplay loop. Congrats you discovered how franchises work.
Monster hunter *does* have a cycle because there are two teams that make the games: a console team and a portable team. Both games you mentioned were made by the console team. with games like portable third, generations, and rise being made by the portable team
@@10001vader it’s not a console team and a portable team, it’s a mainline team and a “portable” team for one. Secondly they largely work on games at the same time. Thirdly this has nothing to do with the cycle of “realism” vs. “non-realism” in the video which does not exist. It might in the future, but it currently does not. If it did what would it look like? Starting from MH1 as realism or MH2 as realism? We get to 3 then what? Is it just realistic then not realistic even though the guy cited MH3U as the unrealistic one? MH3tri and MH portable third released relatively close to each other so does that mean there is just a gap in the cycle before collapsing into unrealism for MH3U? Does this mean that MH4, and MH4U are more realistic than MH3U? MH4 and 4U have the largest monster in the series that razes mountains with its back. MH4U has a tar monster with wings that cannot support it, and has the fucking insect glaive which just can’t exist in the real world. THAT’S the more “realistic” game? Going on to MH Gen which is just throwing everything at the wall and pulling inspiration from Frontier. Are we gonna talk about the disbanded frontier team when we’re talking about cycles too? What about mobile games, stories games, the short lived “Monster Hunter online?” Are these included in the “cycle?” Does this conclusively prove that there will be a realistic game when we take the entire series history of Monster Hunter into account like this video suggests??? Is there likely going to be a realistic monster Hunter game following rise? Most likely! Why?! Not because of series history of realism vs non-realism, but because people are coming back to MH World more than they are playing Rise. Because more people like the “realistic” style of monster Hunter that world LARGELY introduced to get westerners into the series. Their new mobile game even features monsters and designs pulled from World because it’s a better marketing decision than the middlingly received Rise. Like Maybe there is a cycle between teams, but does that tidbit of information have ANYTHING to do with the ACTUAL contention I have with the video, or are you being contrarian for the sake of starting shit? With that being said, the “cycle” still supports my claim about the evolution of the series, and your tangential bullshit comment serves no purpose but to annoy the ever living shit out of me for what I assume has to be an intentional misinterpretation of what I said.

Monster hunter wilds should get rid of quest rewards and make you actually get what you need from hitting specific parts of the monster while decreasing what is needed to be more realistic bassically same as how you hit the tail to break it which will give different weapons different advantages but none unplayable
Best aspect the wire bug
Bring back Bombing bias specifically 😂
I really want a survival mode in a monster hunter game, its world is so cool and interesting
Please just give us World 2. Some of the best new monsters were introduced in that game and I’d love to see what else they do - maybe finally reimplement water combat like what they experimented with during test footage and give us lagiacrus and some other leviathans including some new ones. All I know is that the hunts are going to be epic and I can’t wait to hear the soundtrack for the first time
"World 2"? Thats not how this series work my man this is a dumb take.
Honestly I'm hoping they ground it a bit. Rise is cool in how over the top it is, but World was a special experience. Hopefully they expand everything that made World great. That's why I'm ok with the more "out there" designs like Valstrax or even Magnamalo in the "side" games. Even though I would be ecstatic to see them again from a game from the main team, I'm ok with a World-like experience ommiting those two
I believe it's like this because they have an 'A and a B' team. At the very least I'm quite certain that a smaller team developed Rise whilst the 'main' team worked on the next game
I'm a casual player putting around 400-500 hrs in total started back in 2004. So I don't think my opinion is strong enough. I've played from the first Monster Hunter, Dos, Tri, 3rd, 3U, 4U, GU, and World. I love this game but I don't think I want to go to Rise/Sunbreak after experiencing World. Better wait for the next announcement for the 6th.
Ugh as much as I completely understand why this is done. Hell, I do it myself when I create, sometimes the cycles of different game series run together. I just recently have gone through this.
I absolutely loved Pikmin 3, BOTW, XC2, HZD…the next games in the series, not as much.
Good news is that the next ones should be my jam. We will see if Monster Hunter follows suit as well.
