Stake arrows are also useful for korok transport. Shoot one from the endpoint to the korok, attach it to the stake, then rewind the stake to send the korok flying right to his friend!
You can fuse muddle buds to the eightfold blade and as long as direct contact is not made with he sword, the wind gusts will provide the muddle effect at a range.
The honey actually has the "rod" type fusion tag, meaning that like gemstones when you stick it on a rod/staff/scepter it has a special effect. It still summon bees, but they will not aggro on yourself.
Elemental keese wings on boomerangs I found to be especially powerful since they get the "soaring" effect which extends the range they can be thrown while also getting the elemental effects
Soaring boomerang works with pretty much any boomerang + wing combo, also the Zonai device wing. There even is a large boomerang fused with a Zonai wing inside a chest on Eventide island.

Subscribed! Brilliant stuff, my friend! I knew a couple of these but the stake and hover stone arrows really blew my mind. Don't know why I never thought of that. Dazzlefruit Forest spear has been a favorite for a long time. Stal enemies? I don't know her. 😉
GREAT video I didn't now about the ice meat shield and a few others. Have tried FIRE / ICE dragon spines on shields ? can keep you warm or cold if you don't want to change clothes or weapons
i'm not very far into the game yet, but i learned a few very neat things i would probably not thought about trying, like the frozen meat shield or the balloons. they are generally mostly useless so i tend to forget about them. I like the boomerang trick and i'll give a shot to the smoke mushrooms too !
fusing ice elementals onto royal weapons makes them do bonkers damage during flurry rush as every 2nd hit is a crit that breaks the ice I think gleeok horns are best for this as their ice effect has no cooldown
I usually use gleeok horns for boomerangs they have the same effect as keese and aroukooda wings on a boomerang (extra range) and do the same thing as a bunch of the zonal parts
I think the Gleeok Wings give the extra distance. I’m pretty sure the horns are just very powerful elemental damage. Plus, Zonai parts are more accessible for most players.
Those rolling devices dropped after defeating a flux construct fused to a shield are very effective against the little stone taluses of any element. Just perform a shield attack and they are gone without hurting you (even miasma). Big lightning flowers are super helpful if attached to any flying device while exploring the depth, because they dont't need battery and still light while just parking on the ground.
I love the lizalfos boomerang because if you attach the right parts to it then it will pretty much turn it into a sword that can still be thrown and come back.
@@LionsShareYT I know and same as Skyrim I wish never played on the computer cause of how easy it was to cheat, but now I have to kill multiple Lynals as I can’t just duplicate their drops ahhhh
A ruby on your shield causes an explosion when you parry or block, and isn't used up like bombs. It also keeps you warm in cold environment. Sapphire freezes enemies instead, and keeps you cool in warm environments, and it doesn't thaw.
When I first bought the game, I was so excited to try fusing an ice material to my shield and see if it would let me shield surf on water, but was disappointed to find that nothing happens But there's still plenty you can do with ice sheets made with water, like Fuse ice onto a weapon for both pseudo-Cryonis and a fan weapon, use Ultrahand and Recall to make the ice a moving platform that can get you distance or height (especially with the help of Ascend), or, for a much more niche application, maybe you can include an ice sheet in an Autobuild as a timer, where when the ice melts, the things it's connected to get disconnected I've never once used ice sheets as a timer for Autobuild creations (in fact, I literally just came up with the idea right now lol), but it'd be interesting to see what's possible with that 🤔
Had an new idea to add to this: have a flame emitter pointed at the ice, so that the ice melts faster Maybe you could have some things get propelled by rockets or wheels, then split off within a few seconds 🤔
Didn't know about the honeycomb arrows! I imagine that it would be beneficial when coming upon a camp of resting monsters whose weapons are nearby; if they are sent running, they won't grab for their weapons
So you reminded me of the time Mineru sent a Bokoblin to space right before I was able to hit it with the cannon I attached to her arm. I laughed extremely hard. There was also the time I froze an electric Lizalfos and it started sliding away from me before GOING AROUND A CORNER!
@@LionsShareYT the Bokoblin wasn't what hit the ground, the drops fell out of the sky. that Electric Lizalfos really confused me though, I have NO CLUE what caused it to start sliding around.
Fun fact, if you have sidon use his power on you your wetness effect will apply to the bomb arrows which does let you use them in magma places apparently. Not sure about bomb spears tho. Sidon's bubble also apparently makes electric arrows always do the big electric attack that they do when they hit water/metal
@@LionsShareYT Fair enough! I'm just making sure you knew because I've seen a fair few videos like this where they just didn't know gleeok horns existed. Either way you've earned yourself a subscriber!
An easier way to traverse water with ice is to fuse an ice blade to your eightfold long blade. One slash should create many blocks of ice. A rod works too. That said, I knew all these points except the brightbloom which is superseded by placing it on your hoverbike. Great video all the same.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. It’s a fair point about the eightfold longblade. I like to include some of these things more because they are neat and could come in handy, depending on your materials.
Elemental lizal horn weapons don't lose durability if they don't hit anything, but still produce the effect. I have ones for ice and fire for utility purposes.
People keep talking about hover stone arrows, but I’ve never even seen hover stones, and I’ve been playing the game like non stop for the last 3 weeks.
Radiant Shields and Gerudo Shields are the best standard shields for surfing, as they lose significantly less durability from friction than other standard shields. When used only for surfing, Radiant Shields have the highest durability of all standard shields. I keep a set of Radiant Shields with various surfing fusions such as Mining Carts, Zonai Carts, Frozen Hearty Salmon, etc. As for legendary shields, the Hylian Shield wins through sheer total durability; but I don't have it yet, so I keep a Frozen Hearty Salmon on my Daybreaker for when I want to be fancy.
To cross water, I have an eightfold longblade with an ice lizalfos horn, ice dragon horns might work better but with a full charge attack it’s INSANELY useful
Stake arrows are also useful for getting back to low sky islands you fall off. Fire the arrow to the ground as you fall off the sky island then when it hits the ground, stand on the stake and recall it back to the sky island.
I never used any to test it, but I always assumed the forest dweller weapons were for other weapons. Specifically for like gloom weapons, since they could act like a hilt so you don't take the gloom damage, and recover the broken sword tip when it ran out of durability.
By the way if you want to get the 5th sage super early. Just go to the area where in Botw the lake with the shock dragon comes out of the lake, depending on what side you approach, a piece of falling rock will drop down just below the waterfall that has a shrine in it in Botw. The falling rock will lead you to thunder dragon Island where you will need 10 ❤ to open the door and use the guide stone that will lead you to the 5th sage area and completely avoid the main story line. 😢🎉🎉
Hylian shield with fire dragon shard. It breaks rock/crate/armor, gives you fire to light camp, can create an updraft with pin/piment mushroom, deals damage while parying, doesn't conduct electricity (attract lightning tho), doesn't burn, one shot fire enemies, warms you in cold environment, has 800 durability and is repairable with oktorock as it is. Most useful fuse in the game 👌
While it's more of a handy Autobuild schematic than a weapon fuse, I really like taking a bundle of firewood and attaching a red chu jelly on one long end and a pinecone on the other. Autobuild it with the chu jelly facing down and you have an instant Revali's Gale. I know rocket shields are quicker to use, but these three components are much more common and won't wear your shields out.
8:18 honestly an improvement is using Lizalfos tails. You get a higher damage buff, still get elemental effects, and while the zonai devices don't need a direct hit, the tails add significant size to the boomerang hit box. Seriously throw a giant boomerang with an Ice Lizalfos tail and try to miss the the enemy.
i dont think anyone has found this yet which is wild but there is a secret spot on the tail of the final boss dragon fight which has a scale you can harvest and fuse its really strong and has a unique effect
Stake arrows pin into walls, but do they pin into stone/battle talos which are a hybrid entity/climbable surface? Battle varieties have actual ground on them (boko wooden fortresses as a hat) would it work on them?
Great questions! I would be inclined to say no. In my experience, stakes only stick into permanent surfaces. You can’t insert stakes into the sides of ruins rubble that falls from the sky, but if it’s planted in the ground permanently, you can.
4:05 one bursting item that can work with the forest dwellers weapons is courser honey, at least i believe it’s one uses last time i could remember, it can summon an army of bees to attack other enemies, as for more practical uses it has been used in conjunction with pulse lasers to reach insane levels of damage but i’m not the right person to explain how that works 5:15 the wind clever has two other combinations you have haven’t covered yet, you can fuse a muddle bud to a wind clever to muddle you enemies with its air slashes, which works for some reason, just don’t directly hit you enemies with the actual weapon so to not break the muddle bud on it another fusion can be the wind clever with a gibdo bone, the gibdo bone turns the wind clever into a mace like weapon, all you need to do is to hit enemy with a spinning charge attack to break the gibdo bone and you’ll become a useless but fun spinning whirlwind
I talked about courser bee honey later in the video. It doesn’t count as a bursting item, though. Someone else did mention the muddlebud + windcleaver combo (which I had missed), but the gibdo bone one is interesting! I feel like that probably works only because the gibdo bone instantly breaks on first hit, forcing the windcleaver to return to its prior state while you’re locked into a spin.
Something I’d like to see a vid on is how to properly use light dragon parts. When fused to a weapon, they heal you with each hit (but iirc it’s like a meager quarter heart). Would be cool if there was a way to make it heal for more.
Ice keese wings on boomerangs make crossing water faster than the video suggestion. You get a long trail of ice blocks vs. having to attack for each block
@@briancouvillion926 you know, I think someone said that the other day, too. It’s a good idea. I don’t know if anyone had thought of that yet when I made the video, though.

Also, I don’t think people realize that a star fragment is used to create a light wand for the depths. It’s niche, but interesting.

Thanks for the info. I have no idea how to use all the monster parts I've collected. A video on how to use those parts would be greatly appreciated.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’ll think about a video for monster parts. :)
Subscribed! Brilliant stuff, my friend! I knew a couple of these but the stake and hover stone arrows really blew my mind. Don't know why I never thought of that. Dazzlefruit Forest spear has been a favorite for a long time. Stal enemies? I don't know her. 😉
Thanks! I’m glad I could help!
GREAT video
I didn't now about the ice meat shield and a few others. Have tried FIRE / ICE dragon spines on shields ? can keep you warm or cold if you don't want to change clothes or weapons
@@MikearoniGrill thanks! I do know about dragon spikes on shields. :)
This was such a quality video, how have you not blown up yet?
Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. :)
i'm not very far into the game yet, but i learned a few very neat things i would probably not thought about trying, like the frozen meat shield or the balloons. they are generally mostly useless so i tend to forget about them. I like the boomerang trick and i'll give a shot to the smoke mushrooms too !
There’s just so much you can do in this game! Glad you found some good tips!
Definitely add the link to the first video in the description!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you for making this video. Awesome tips 😁.
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Background music is from skyward sword pumpkin Tavern during octo balloon part
Yeah, I’m pretty fond of SS music.
fusing ice elementals onto royal weapons makes them do bonkers damage during flurry rush as every 2nd hit is a crit that breaks the ice
I think gleeok horns are best for this as their ice effect has no cooldown
That’s a great point! Yes, Gleeok horns are busted.
Yep! Those are helpful as well!
I love the lizalfos boomerang because if you attach the right parts to it then it will pretty much turn it into a sword that can still be thrown and come back.
Agreed
Really cool video 🔥
Will try these out
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Played so much of this game and watching makes me want to play again. But since I accidentally updated I was kinda miffed
I think there’s still plenty of fun to be had without the major glitches
@@LionsShareYT I know and same as Skyrim I wish never played on the computer cause of how easy it was to cheat, but now I have to kill multiple Lynals as I can’t just duplicate their drops ahhhh
A ruby on your shield causes an explosion when you parry or block, and isn't used up like bombs. It also keeps you warm in cold environment. Sapphire freezes enemies instead, and keeps you cool in warm environments, and it doesn't thaw.
@@Denamic yep. Gem fusions are great. :)
Ooh the Gerodu music for the intro got me grooving lol
Gerudo Valley has one of the best themes for sure.
Great video! Turns out I haven’t been using boomerangs the way I should have
Thanks! Boomerangs are definitely underrated a lot.
I love videos like this - esp for novice players like me. Thanks.
@@a016202 glad you enjoyed it!
When I first bought the game, I was so excited to try fusing an ice material to my shield and see if it would let me shield surf on water, but was disappointed to find that nothing happens
But there's still plenty you can do with ice sheets made with water, like Fuse ice onto a weapon for both pseudo-Cryonis and a fan weapon, use Ultrahand and Recall to make the ice a moving platform that can get you distance or height (especially with the help of Ascend), or, for a much more niche application, maybe you can include an ice sheet in an Autobuild as a timer, where when the ice melts, the things it's connected to get disconnected
I've never once used ice sheets as a timer for Autobuild creations (in fact, I literally just came up with the idea right now lol), but it'd be interesting to see what's possible with that 🤔
That timer is a neat idea. Like a time release trap or something for enemies.
Had an new idea to add to this: have a flame emitter pointed at the ice, so that the ice melts faster
Maybe you could have some things get propelled by rockets or wheels, then split off within a few seconds 🤔
I knew most about these fusions actually, save for the forest weapons. Reusing giant brightbloom seeds without any cost sounds way too OP!
@@myaawp3358 glad I was still able to provide some new info!
Didn't know about the honeycomb arrows! I imagine that it would be beneficial when coming upon a camp of resting monsters whose weapons are nearby; if they are sent running, they won't grab for their weapons
Oh, excellent point! I wish I’d thought of that to include in the video!
This was really useful. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
So you reminded me of the time Mineru sent a Bokoblin to space right before I was able to hit it with the cannon I attached to her arm. I laughed extremely hard. There was also the time I froze an electric Lizalfos and it started sliding away from me before GOING AROUND A CORNER!
@@alexkuhn5188 that’s awesome!
@@LionsShareYT the Bokoblin wasn't what hit the ground, the drops fell out of the sky. that Electric Lizalfos really confused me though, I have NO CLUE what caused it to start sliding around.
Arrow Cannons are particularly most useful when you can't use regular bombs in extremely hot areas, but still want to blow stuff up.
Fair point. Always good not to blow yourself up.
I mean, fuse that cannon to a weapon and you get a lot more uses out of it, but I guess it’s good for a long range explosion.
Fun fact, if you have sidon use his power on you your wetness effect will apply to the bomb arrows which does let you use them in magma places apparently. Not sure about bomb spears tho. Sidon's bubble also apparently makes electric arrows always do the big electric attack that they do when they hit water/metal
I usually just go with Yunobomons roll attack
Cannon spears u aim to throw the spear and it shoots the Canon wherever your pointing
Great video but the zonai emitters are kinda pointless when gleeok horns do the same thing but with 30 extra damage and they don't drain your battery.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s a fair point, but Zonai emitters are more accessible. Gleeok Horns take a bit more skill to obtain.
@@LionsShareYT Fair enough! I'm just making sure you knew because I've seen a fair few videos like this where they just didn't know gleeok horns existed. Either way you've earned yourself a subscriber!
Didn't know that brightblooms could reuse on a forest dweller weapon. Will keep in mind if I start a fresh playthrough someday
Glad I could help!
Thanks @PointCrow for teaching me about the long blade
He does try a lot of things
I bet the octo balloons would work with multi-shot bows that spread further
I did try that. I think it doesn’t work because they don’t want players using multi-shot bows to duplicate items.
OMG NEW VIDEO YAYYYY!
Don't have the gave myself but I luv watching ur vids XD
It’s good to be back! :)
That last one IS an ice trick; a really nice trick! 😂
🤣
Brilliant video! I learned a ton of new cool stuff. Tyvm
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
These are very cool fuses!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Mind blown! So many great ideas!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That’s a good detail.
People keep talking about hover stone arrows, but I’ve never even seen hover stones, and I’ve been playing the game like non stop for the last 3 weeks.
You can only get them from like one or two Zonai device dispensers. I think one of them is on the way to the water temple.
Amazing video. I hardly ever use shield surfing tbh because your shield wears down so quick and I usually just glide down things.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Also, fair point about shield surfing. I mostly use it if it’s going to be faster.
If you use a minecart or zonai cart shield to ride on rails it won't use any durability, as long as you only use it on rails
@@Nokunanolane nice!
Stake arrows are also useful for getting back to low sky islands you fall off. Fire the arrow to the ground as you fall off the sky island then when it hits the ground, stand on the stake and recall it back to the sky island.
Yeah, the recall tip is a great tip I definitely should have included.
I never used any to test it, but I always assumed the forest dweller weapons were for other weapons. Specifically for like gloom weapons, since they could act like a hilt so you don't take the gloom damage, and recover the broken sword tip when it ran out of durability.
I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work, but I’ll test it out. It’s an interesting idea!
Great video! Tightly scripted and informative.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
Zonai Hydrant boomerang is amazing against Mucktorok
Yeah, I could see that
By the way if you want to get the 5th sage super early. 😢🎉🎉
Yep
I got Mineru before Yunobo😂
Mineru was my first one lol
Hylian shield with fire dragon shard. It breaks rock/crate/armor, gives you fire to light camp, can create an updraft with pin/piment mushroom, deals damage while parying, doesn't conduct electricity (attract lightning tho), doesn't burn, one shot fire enemies, warms you in cold environment, has 800 durability and is repairable with oktorock as it is. Most useful fuse in the game 👌
That’s a great point!
@@Acradius that’s a nice tip! Is the bundle of wood actually necessary though? Does the red chu jelly not burst without it?
@@LionsShareYT You know I haven't tried it without the wood, if I get a chance I'll do it tonight.
Link looks like Aladdin with that sled in the desert.
I see it
Yolu forgot to point out that stake arrows are awesome with recall time ability - you can use it to travel back from where you shot the arrow
True, though this is true of numerous fusions.
Yeah, a couple other people mentioned the same thing. It’s a great point.
i dont think anyone has found this yet which is wild but there is a secret spot on the tail of the final boss dragon fight which has a scale you can harvest and fuse its really strong and has a unique effect
I’ll look into that.
you can also fuse octo balloons to shields to lift yourself up a bit. this is useful for climbing in the rain and cheating in some shrines
Yep! I covered that in a previous video.
4:05 one bursting item that can work with the forest dwellers weapons is courser honey, at least i believe it’s one uses last time i could remember, it can summon an army of bees to attack other enemies, as for more practical uses it has been used in conjunction with pulse lasers to reach insane levels of damage but i’m not the right person to explain how that works
5:15 the wind clever has two other combinations you have haven’t covered yet, you can fuse a muddle bud to a wind clever to muddle you enemies with its air slashes, which works for some reason, just don’t directly hit you enemies with the actual weapon so to not break the muddle bud on it
another fusion can be the wind clever with a gibdo bone, the gibdo bone turns the wind clever into a mace like weapon, all you need to do is to hit enemy with a spinning charge attack to break the gibdo bone and you’ll become a useless but fun spinning whirlwind
U can attach muddle buds to any weapon with the wind scythe attack and just use the wind attack to confuse them without using up the bud
Yeah, I unfortunately learned about that one after I made this video, or it definitely would have been included.
Something I’d like to see a vid on is how to properly use light dragon parts. When fused to a weapon, they heal you with each hit (but iirc it’s like a meager quarter heart). Would be cool if there was a way to make it heal for more.
It is a quarter heart, and as far as I know there’s not anyway to increase that amount, but I’ll look into it! Thanks for the suggestion!
Now I can strike fear into any Bokoblin with the honey arrows 😂
@@thekraken8082 Bokoblin: Beekeeper Link can’t hurt you. Beekeeper Link isn’t real.
1:22 how about when an enemy grabs a bomb barrel to come throw it at you.. can u fire an octorok balloon at the barrel and he goes into the air as it holds it over his head?
Hm. Not sure. I might test that out. My guess is it will just count as hitting the enemy.
Yeeeaaah boooyyyy that rocket shield really makes up for not having revali's gale anymore
And you don’t have to wait for it to recharge. As long as you have a rocket, you can go up!
@@LionsShareYT I usually use rocket shields in the depths..to fight froxes and stone taluses...and I use lynel bows to fire multiple bloomseeds at once.. so much to figure out in this game !
i love using mine cart shields, probably just placebo but i feel like they move faster than zonai cart shields
@@iLLadelph267 I think they are the same, though I’ve heard mine carts go further on rails.
I believe you can fuse a spear to other weapons to massively increase its range AND attack at the same time, plus it keeps the cutting edge, which is good when you need to cut a lot of grass. Also, I don’t think people realize that a star fragment is used to create a light wand for the depths. It’s niche, but interesting.
Both of those are great! The light wand is really nice. :)
The video was great but you can put an oocto balloon on your shield to cheat shrines
Yeah, I talked about the Octo-Balloon Shield in a previous video
These developers deserve many good things
For real. You can tell a lot of love went into this game.
You could shoot the stakes to a wall before starting to climb. That way you don't risk loosing stamina in bullet time.
True. But it's still helpful if you didn't think ahead enough to do that.
