Used to love this song when I was a girl - I always preferred "Little Brother" to "Naked In The Rain"... And in fact it reminds me of my little brother, who I used to sing this to when it was released in 1990, when I was 12 and he was 7, after this song was featured on the Now 18 album... Sadly he had a lot of health issues and died of Reye's Syndrome in 1992 aged 9 (I was 14)... I'm now 43 and I still miss him loads - so lovely to reminisce on those times now...
The lyrics were based on a true story about her own brother who had a bit of a hard time and went off. No one knew where he was. And as that was around 25-30 years ago, I would love to know if they ever found him and if they did, I hope he is in a much better place now.
I heard this song in 1990 for First time, in a program euro radio called Conexão Europa, transmmited from Lisboa to Brazil by radio station Band FM. Wow...I was 13, and then, never heard It again. After 20 years, thanx YT, I found It and I remembered that Seasons...
The music industry went thru a massive change right around this time. Hard to explain exactly HOW, but I know a lot of metal bands got chewed up right around then. COULD HAVE had something to do with independent labels popping up and taking over, the same way introduction of MTV changed music 10 years earlier. Durga CERTAINLY had the looks and talent to RULE MTV! But this was phase ll of dismantling big music industry.
Ciao, so lovely, reminds me of the good old MTV Partyzone Times ❤️ many greetings from brunswick in germany and please stay safe 🙃 PS.. i'm 55 right now..
First time I have heard this track. I bought it on 12" vinyl in 1999 from a bargain basement reduced to 30p. I was planning on having a millennium party but it never happened. only now am I bothering to check what I bought
As McBroom is a backing vocalist for Pink Floyd, their records feature guest appearances from David Gilmour and Richard Wright. A couple of decades later, both Youth and McBroom went on to be involved in the completion of Pink Floyd's 2014 album The Endless River, which charted at number 1 in the UK charts.[1]

It makes you wonder why they weren't as big as they should've/could've been

The lyrics are very literal. She was literally singing a song to her younger brother.
She was singing “let me be your lover” to her own brother?
