Was this video on a Honeywell Model RTH2340B? Just moved back to Massachusetts and that's what was in the house, but couldn't find this model on Honeywell website.
The guy in the video doesn't have a clue in hell what he is doing. He DOES NOT show you how to do anything other than go through what the unit will do. He does not tell you how to program it.
Eric, thanks for your directions, but how do you start the time of day? Shouldn't thi correspond to actual time of day? I cane home and A?C was not working. I changed the batteries, and it came on, but I noticed the time of day was wrong.
I just want to set my AC to 74F. Every time I look it it is 80 or 81. Programs 1 to 4 and Sat Sun are running me krazy. I just would like to turn it on during this heat and leave it. Humidity is bouncing around like krazy with temp fluctuations. How to turn Auto OFF!

"Auto" setting has nothing to do with the programming. Auto-On slide switch either runs the blower continuously in the "on " position, or it runs only when the furnace or A/C is activated --"Auto" position. It appears that at the end he says in order to set temp down for a short time, to turn on "cool". This is incorrect. It will activate the air-conditioning system, which if it is below a certain ambient temperature outside will burn up the compressor bearings. Do not do this. To set down for an hour or so mearly turn the temp down and it will hold for a couple hours. This thermostat is very non-intuitive to use. I really am not certain how you maintain a temp for 24 hrs easily. Not recommended.
My exact question! I really regret buying this one. There is another identical unit w a push button on the side. I knew I couldn’t be the only one wondering this!
I believe I’ve been told that if you press the mode button until no house appears on the screen and just the temperature than it is just a manual thermostat and not programmed.
This isn’t a thorough video on this thermostat. You don’t show how to fix it if you don’t turn it to off when changing the batteries. Also you don’t show how to use it out of the timer mode
Did you figure it out? Because I believe if you press the mode button until the house symbol disappears and just the temperature is showing than it is basically a manual thermostat and not programmed.

I absolutely DESPISE this thermostat... it has given me grief sonce we moved into this house 5 yrs ago. I would never want another Honeywell..
