Even if you're waiting for that (a few months out), you still want to do this for the Kralk Ore (you need 3200ish iirc)

@@_Banjo_ Technically it's for both since the Skyscale is required for Vision. The Kralk ore is more for Vision though (Istan weapon achieve collection)

omg omg omg. I have been slowly working on my skyscale for the last few months and just got to the feeding and grow lamp part. Then I saw ahead that I needed all those mats and got very very discouraged since I had like 50 mistborn motes only. THANK you so much!!!!!!!!!!

Just to clarify any confusion, the 2 vendors shown in Eye of the North aren't there "baseline." You need to talk with Lady Camilla in Eye of the North and buy them to unlock them. The ice vendor costs 10 Eternal Ice shards and 10,500 (that's 10 thousand 500) karma. The Hatched Chili vendor (charr dude next to the norn) is 10 hatched chilis and the same amount of karma.
Don't worry too much about having to farm karma though, you get a BUNCH from basically everything (including strike missions). And if you're in a guild the guild karma boost can boost that anywhere from 3-10%, depending on which is unlocked for your guild, permanently.
If you don't have them unlocked yet, the "normal" ice vendor is Anette Eymundrdottir in Bjora Marches. The Volatile magic trade can be done at any volatile magic vendors if you don't have that vendor unlocked in Eye of the North.

Thanks! Didn't have the Icebrood Saga unlocked so I was very confused by this (even though it's briefly shown in the video). Guess I'll use the poor man's "Anette" vendor.
EDIT: nvm, I'm not allowed in Bjora Marches without the episodes unlocked lol. Watched the guide and did all the strike missions, only to find out I'm locked out of this content. rip

I would like to add that you can also trade the shards for LWS4 currency to gear up for ascended trinkets, especially the stats selectable ones. I had 4k of shards sitting around and it was really convenient and cheap to gear up new toons/builds for fractals.

Excellent! I have a bunch of stacks of them in my bank, but couldn't drain them because I don't have the Eitrite recipe yet... because I used the achievement eitrite rewards to make some bags. Still need to find another way to get the recipe, but at least now I can get some bank space back in the meantime and get mats for legendary equipment.

Damn I was literally thinking to myself what I could do with the ice shards now that my bank storage is full. Excellent info and timing!
Actually farming the map and doing both metas nets you about 900 ice, doing strikes on top of that adds about another 300 for a total of 1200 ice every day. This equates to roughly 120+ LWS4 currency, which can get you anywhere from 2-3k Volitile Magic when consumed.
T6 sets are through the roof right now, so trophy shipments are your best bet for making gold. Remember to upgrade the t5 mats you get to t6 for best ROI.
A note, do not buy kralkatite to consume for VM, as it gives far less than the other lws4 currnecies.
For banking and return you can also use the Guild Hall / Scribe station or the WvW lobby. Both can return you to your previous spot.
Been doing this for months, never thought to enter PVP to avoid leaving the spot...
Guild hall works better. Interact with the Scribe crafting station to access the bank. You don't even have to leave the guild hall to get back to the spot since logging off that character does it automatically.

Used them to get mistonium for ofc the skyscale, but ALSO getting the requiem armor sets (imo some of the best looking armor in the game).
The ending with added sound effects gets me everytime xD
Another good and easy bank location is the obsidian sanctum. Close to no running and can to back to you location if you press on the leave button on the WvW menu.
Warning: If you use the portal at the sanctum to leave, you will be teleported to Lions Arch

Specially with the sound effects, so kudos to your video editor. I guess I’m doing something wrong or just don’t have enough time for playing GW2, because I’m always low on karma. Do you have a guide for how to get karma quickly when your time is limited?
how limited is your time? Meta trains are a great way to earn karma. So dragonfall/drizzlewood/dragon's stand/ infusion trains / LS4 meta trains all apply depending on how much time you're willing to spend in open world
if your wvw tier is 3 or above, joining a wvw karma train is about 500k-1mil karma a week
@@pinkipromise how many hours of wvw are you playing to get that 500k to 1 million karma per week? I don’t know if my sanity could endure that much WvW and I don’t know what karma trains do in WvW, but it’s worth checking it out.

one tip, you only need the first essence mastery to open all the chests, even the larger ones, the other tiers only increase the rewards for the chests... ^_^
Very helpful video! If I could make a request - can you please slow down the fast forward on the route sequences? I had to stop and do a frame by frame (which is always laggy on UA-cam) to figure out some of the jumps you made down to the secondary chests lol.

Mukluk, there was another important way to spend Eternal Ice - getting Ascended Trinkets!
You can use Eternal Ice to buy Mistborn Motes (and VM) that can be used by the vendors in Dragonfall to buy the Scion-Spike Amulet, Mistborn Band and Mist-Charged Treasure trinkets. No more tedious Winterberry farming :) This should be an update to this helpful video.

i use some of mine to buy selectable ascended amulets(Asgeir's Amulet) for 56k karma and 375 shards(hunger collection must be completed)

Can I ask which chapter of icebrood saga unlocks bjorra marches and the strike missions?
The only thing I want to add on about 32 slot Reinforced Boreal Trunk is that to get to that level it will cost you (at the time of my writing this) 135 gold to create from the bottom bags to the trunk. You also dont have to do it all in one go and just save 90 gold until you farm it by stopping at the 28 slot Hardened Boreal barrel since that only costs 58 gold total. The reasoning of WHY said cost jumps so high is the Supreme Rune of Holding required which can be bought off the market or through Sandstorm ecto gambling but that can fluctuate and the majority of the cost is in the last 8 supreme runes you need for the trunk. Be advised these are the cheapest easiest 32 slot bags compared to the Reinforced Olmakhan Bandolier which costs about 200 gold and much much more time to create.
You can also gable the amulet with the shards
I use 1 character to loot all 3 large chests in one run with grifon. I start from the north one, go for the north west one, then the south one and take the grifon again to the medium one north. Use Springer/Skyscale to get back to the large one above.

Correction it is not necessary to get all 3 tiers of the essence manipulation mastery, the second tier allows you to open the big and medium chests, the third one improves the rewards from them. Hence allowing you to start farming a tiny bit earlier, although work on getting the 3rd tier asap for more loot.
How many alters can open big chests by day?

I have tons of eternal ice shards from just doing strikes and I haven't found anything I want to spend them on. I was seriously considering destroying some of them cause they took up space in my bank and didn't do me any good.
A way to make gold from them would be very nice for me. xD
IIRC Mistborn Motes are the best LW4 currency to turn into VM, I heard it just has a somewhat higher conversion rate, might be wrong though

That one strike you said to not do as it takes forever...is that the tank escort? I solod that (not sure if you were supposed to) and it indeed took forever. Not going to lie, it was pretty cool, just wish it went faster =/
Yeah, its fun its just very long for the rewards you get so I don't do it often.

I don't know that I agree that Strikes are good filling out IBS mastery experience. I was doing strikes to get the final mastery unlocked and only got maybe 15% of the bar after doing every strike mission. I got the other 85% in about 40 minutes in Drizzlewood. The experience gain there seems to just be waaaaaay higher than Strikes could ever be.
Btw consuming: Does someone knows which ls3/ls4 currency is giving the highest amount of unbound/volatile magic?
I've not tested this myself but I've been told anything OTHER than kralkatite ore by others.

OR you could do the quest where you complete a map and get 250 of the ressource for the skyscale (did the last 2 steps, saddle and the other within 1 day)

I think it’s like 200-250 gold for one. Basically the entirety of the cost are the supreme runes of holding which are like 12 gold each but you need like 7-8-10-12 of them for each step of the crafting. That said I don’t know how easy or hard it is to get them yourself from the casino games that they apparently come from
Yeah, the fact that you can only get the runes from ecto gambling is why the prices are so, its your choice, really you can make the 32 slot bags nearly free if you are lucky enough, or just buy the runes outright
I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but the boreal trunks mentioned in this video are cheaper than most 32 slot bags due to requiring less of those expensive runes of holding. It will still be 100gold +

Going to a WvW bl is a lot faster than PvP lobby, since you don't have to zone out of the bl when you log out of that character.

It's not. I've never farmed for it. That's what I'm constantly trying to tell people lol. You can get "rich" with just a few habits each day, such as alts at the bjora chests.

I've agreed on almost everything you said about the game.. but ice shards won't get you a 32slot bag, you still need the main ingredients, GOLD 140 gold and "some" trash ice shards
Turning it into volatile magic is (for me) the only usefull thing if you have some spare karma.

Here is the big kicker for getting those hefty 32- slot bags, If you haven't got Grandmaster lvl 500, you are scuppered!
Small error, Medium AND Large chests are both openable with level 2 mastery, contrary to ... logic.

You omitted the actual cost of 32 bags, those being the runes of holding. I see no point in spending like 110g to add 12 slots to my bags
I did mention they were covered in detail in another video which I linked, and that is covered there. If that isn't a worthwhile investment for you that is fine. I myself like having 320 bag space.
I'll just keep hoarding my ~15k ice shards for no reason. I definitely don't have a hoarding problem and I can stop whenever I want.

Edit: actually useful comment- you can quickly farm your skyscale by doing as many methods as possible, with this being the most efficient for your effort. If you do all of them you cut down your time significantly
I wish I had seen this when I did the skyscale. I went the hard way and used all seven if my level 80 toons, and everyday I did every heart on every toon and bought the small amount of currency from each heart vendor on every toon. It. Took. A. Week.
1000 Karma is worth 20S . So paying 2G in exchanging the currencys to get 1.5G in VM is your TIP ?!?!
I farmed so many of these then they nerfed their value by like 50-75%% without any warning. That move always left a sour taste in my mouth.
I'll be real, I haven't really done group content, World of Warcraft killed my trust completely in pugs
Making the 32 slots bags is too expensive. Runes of holding are like 10 gold each. 80 gold for one? Nah.
How anyone has a prob getting this currency is beyond me, I can just tour the map for a half hour and walk away with a 250 stack, its just knowing where the chests are. I have so much I had to stop farming it or I could never hold it all. I had 40+ stacks at one point.
That said I've not done much of the strike missions cause squads were toxic, rather yell and kick you than tell you what to do. Also one fight one room is kinda monotonous. I did Steel & Fire the most because NPCs tell you everything and it was actually fun.... well the first 30 times at least.
My prob with making 32 slot bags is the Superior Runes of Holding, I'm too cheap for those. I probably could afford it now, but still will make me cry to see all that gold go away.
