Tf2 is a team based hero shooter. Valve is the “not like other AAA companies” of AAA companies but they are actually not like other AAA companies. Whatever they do it’ll probably end up great. Hell even artifact with all its issues still had good gameplay considering the card game genre.
I hope the casual and competitive side can flourish and be incredibly fun, a bit similar to TF2. Also I can't imagine the pressure for Valve with making a new game. Their reputation for excellent games is almost a curse lmao.

Plus they worked on the HTC Vive that released in 2016, the Valve Index in 2019, and the Steam deck that released last year. They've honestly done a hell of a lot in the last 10 or so years. Not many games companies with only ~300 employees work on games, hardware, and run the largest gaming storefront in the world. Imagine if Naughty Dog lost 100 developers but also released a couple VR headsets, and a mobile device and kept the playstation store running on top of releasing games like the last of us.
TF2 is a blueprint for a perfect casual class based shooter, it has all the things you need for a succesfull game, i hope they just make a bullet point list of those things and add on to it

@@vibaj16 that's not how it works. The characters are blurred within the boundaries of roles. Classes are clearly distributed by tasks (if the game is well thought out and balanced). Example - if someone from the 9th classes is missing in the team in TF2 it will greatly affect and will be an Achilles heel (because paper beats stone, etc.). Heroes / characters / champions as you like, outside of such a balance, since they can be replaced by any other.
Valve releasing new ip does sound exiting. I feel like they haven't released a thing for a decade now since half-life alyx is VR exclusive and card games and job simulators feel more like side projects rather than anything serious that I've come to associate Valve with

Like maybe it does take place in the "half life universe", but on another planet the combine invaded, either before or after their invasion of earth. Or maybe even an alternate version of earth that had significantly more luck fighting back.

ik this is unpopular but video games becoming "competitive" has just seen them become less fun. Games labeled competitive are more stressful than enjoyable. Its funny because in my experience IRL team sports become way more fun when they become competitive.

Intresting iv mostly enjoyed valves singerplayer titles (though I do play left 4 dead 2) portal 1-2 heck I’m downloading half life 2 for that experience. I know there is also csgo but the only reason I don’t play that is size and the fact that I’m not always connected to Wi-Fi or even thinking about online gaming.

Intresting iv mostly enjoyed valves singerplayer titles (though I do play left 4 dead 2) portal 1-2 heck I’m downloading half life 2 for that experience.
