Well, here's another crazy gauntlet for the books! Training an egg to level 100 before it hatches thanks to the "battle with eggs" glitch via the Pomeg Glitch! This gauntlet was actually very easy after forming a strategy for it! Editing just took a while because I underestimated how much explaining I wanted to do lol. Also I apologize for a lot of the gameplay audio. I still have no idea what I'm doing when I record audio on my computer

I figured out your glitch with gengar:
At 0x020244EC the code of your pkmn team is written and before this (or after that, I don't know exactly), a code for battles save your last sent out pkmn. In case of your preparation with gengar the line will still be the same (filled as "sent out gengar") because the egg can't be a normal pkmn. So in the pomeg glitch case and reset your game the code line will be set to 0000 and MUST be filled within a battle. So it forces the code "sent out pkmn in egg".

You could have made this a lot easier by using hp-up's on gengar to put his hp back to an odd value, and by using thief to get a lucky egg onto Nincada.

I love how every gen up to 5 had one really useful, really broken glitch.

All you have to do is take a good fairy-type like Xerneas and beat the elite 4.a few times with a full party and boom level 70s

Maybe you had a problem because you fought with Gengar before saving and reseting. Thus the game memorised the last available pokemon was on its slot. When you reseted, it reseted this slot and sent finaly the first pokemon. Hunting with pomeg berry glitch sometime leads to this result when you forget to swap your pokemon with the egg. Welp I hope you had fun doing this, this is a pretty unique way to bring a pokemon to lvl 100 xD

Lvl 100 Gauntlet via only trading. In the gen 6 game there are these weird global point type things you get via trading and atleast in XY you can trade em in for rare candies in Lumious City. Seems like it would end up being a more mindless button spam gauntlet though. None the less I think it would be a great challenge.

Great vid. If you ever need a consistent Pomeg setup in the future you can save a lot of time by using HP Up, or by using two Berries in a row. This way you’ll always be at odd HP.
There’s so much effort put into this and it’s really noticeable. So fun to watch, even for someone not into pokemon videos on UA-cam normally

Pommegranites are winter fruit only. They're available maybe around Thanksgiving and are no longer available after early January.
I love game breaking glitches like this. I sort of miss things like Missingno. And Gen 4’s Cute Charm glitch were in the newer games.
Is it also theoretically possible to minimize steps further by using a fainted Sweet Scent Pokémon? I say this as it would reduce the number of steps needed to trigger a wild battle. Then when the 100 Blissey battle is done, you exit the secret base, faint the Sweet Scent and/or the curse mon and try again the next day/record sync

yeah! If I were to actually go at this with purely wild encounters, Sweet Scent would've been the strategy. That does sound like it would be the optimal strategy for minimizing steps overall with the secret base method, too, although it would add the extra time with fainting the sweet scent Pokemon

idk why, but seeing you walk around with the tray with an egg and a knocked down gengar model as example of the glitch is hillarious. We need a live-action adaptation of the whole glitch, including a ketchup covered bug.
Also I just realised there's a good practical use for the egg evolution glitch. Lets say you have a Dratini or Larvitar egg. You could prep in advance for good nature, IVs and egg moves. Now level it up to lv 55 so it evolves twice. Now you can hatch it, you have a lv 5 tyranitar or dragonite with your nature, egg moves and ivs. The only thing you lose it access to moves from a prior evolutions, but these two pokes don't have any.
Now, what's so special about these two compared to say a lv 5 Metagross? The difference is there isn't a legitimate way to use Dragonite or Tyranitar in the RSE (lv 50) battle tower. Since in this game your lv 51+ pokemon wouldn't be scaled-down and can't be used, so its not normally possible to use these two at all. This could open new routing options and it makes it a little bit more fair since Emerald trainers can also use lv 50 dragonite/tyranitars.
You could just use the glitzer pop double corruption to get a dragonite/tyranitars egg, but then you risk bad IVs, no egg moves and random nature. And this method seems more fun anyways. Gonna try it out sometime, thanks.
