Stain and hang heavy mirrors

I picked up some heavy 7kg (15lb) mirrors at a cheap price and needed to find a way to hang them on plasterboard. I decided to use French cleats and plasterboard fixings, and varnish the wood to bring it in line with the rest of my furniture. No free feet.
