- Newcastle United fans travel further than any other group of supporters in the premier league. This one club city has an incredible connection to its team, and nowhere is this more felt than on an away day. From local fans to supporters from abroad, going away with Newcastle is central to the identity surrounding this club.
A film about football with no football in it, this is a film about the forgotten faces of modern football, the fans who make the atmosphere the whole world tunes in on television to see. Hours upon hours spent travelling the country, waking before dawn and arriving home well after the next one just to see a team that almost never wins, although they really should.

Newcastle United was my favorite team ever since 1996..
Love from Indonesia

The city of Newcastle and the city of Chicago are both working class cities. Nothing is given and everything is earned. As a life long Cubs fan (baseball) I can see many direct parallels with Newcastle United. And for this, the Magpies are my team. I follow them like religion here in the states. One day I will make the trip to this city and see a match with my own eyes. I will soak in the city with the same fervor and delight that I show visitors around my city. I will delight in the fact that i am in the stadium to see my team just as I delight in every second I am in Wrigley field in Chicago. I will make new friends and bond over a beer or two for our beloved football club, NEWCASTLE UNITED FC!
Tell me I’m wrong college football is the equivalent
I think the same thing about my Detroit Lions. HWTL!
Yeah it's a great city to visit. Matches at SJP are fun.

I have a soft spot for Newcastle United, its the team I like the most in England. I hope they can return to their levels in the 1990s which is when I started to support the club. Love from Amman, Jordan

Lived in Newcastle in '98 and '99; pretty much next to St James's. I remember bumping into Alan Shearer as I walked back home from shopping at the Co-op. I was stunned!!!
Newcastle lost the FA Cup final to Man U that season. Will always have room for Newcastle and its people in my heart.
Love from a Real Zaragoza fan through and through.
Newcastle fan from Puerto Rico. Love the club, the fans and everything about nufc. #AshleyOut #BruceOut

I’m watching this video on May 23, 2023 the morning following Newcastle VS Leicester City game when Newcastle qualified for UEFA Champions League. What passionate and loyal fans! The deserve every bit of it, so happy.
I started supporting Newcastle when they bought Owen I was like 10 years old now i've been loving this club, suffering, enjoying like i was born in Newcastle, howay the lads!, from Costa Rica!
I love Newcastle FC since watching GOAL 2007!!

Love Newcastle fans always loud especially at St James park.
That's because they're moaning
i love newcastle united because the fans are so passionate, everyday im always reading the comment section of the chronicle, the best fans in the world, in my eyes newcastle is a top six side , love from USA,MY all time Newcastle fav players, shearer, BEN arfa and that wonder goal, ginola, asprilla, cisse, les ferdinard, gazza, and fav managers sir BOBBY, RAFA THE MESSIAH, KING KEEGAN, GOTTA LOVE JOE KEENER
I have been on Erasums Exchange in Newcastle and fell in love with NUFC. People, passion, Strawberry pub before game its just perfect
Toon army are class, proper passionate fan base. Give us Willock back in one piece is all I ask...
He is way too good for us!
He has more league goals for Newcastle this season than all of our center mids at Arsenal. Crazy
We don't think Newcastle will be wanting to return Willock anytime soon. 😂
I love newcastle united so much it’s literally my life. Despite the timezone diff and the games being shown at midnight, i’ll never miss a game. Its forever my dream to watch a game at st james. Much love from singapore.
Same from a Newcastle fan from hk!
Best fans in the country and I'm a forest fan, remember going forest vs Newcastle on a Monday night they bought 4k.. not a seat to be had in the away end! Absolute quality football supporters
Ive been a Newcastle fan since 1970 . We havnt been spoiled like the Manchesters . In fact its been quite tough following the team . But i wouldnt change a thing
Better days are just around the corner .
As a 30 year supporter of NUFC from Australia, regularly watching games at 4:30am, this brought a tear to my eye. Well done! Geordie Proud!
My favourite english team. Best fans in UK. Cheers from Guadalajara, México! :D
I feel like I belong to the club, people, region just through the passion and love for this great club by the supporters even though I have never been there. Howay the lads.
You'll always be welcome here!
Newcastle has all the right bits and potential to be a massive club; the badge, the kit, the name, the fans, the stadium, everything. We just need that bit of an investment we’ve lacked for so so long
It happened eventually mate
We’ve always been massive
Who's THAT Team we call UNITED
Who's that TEAM we all adore ❤️❤️❤️
I wish i could go back and tell these folks that better times were on the horizon.
I hope they are enjoying this seasons success
I was among some NUFC fans on a FC Porto presentation game a few years ago, when Benitez was in charge (a dream come true for a Porto and Newcastle fan). And I have to say that they were some of the best fans I have ever encountered, they got along with everybody and their love to the club was second to none! I really hope one day have the chance to visit Newcastle and watch a game at St. James Park!
Thanks for the video!! As a Newcastle fan greetings from Australia!
Love and respect to everyone in the Toon Army, from an American Gooner

Great film, this. Massive respect for those fans travelling up and down the country. You'd like to think fans will be treated better when stadiums are full again, but it's unlikely.
Something we hope as well Gareth!
Not even a Newcastle fan but I love all these football stories.
I’ve been a fan since 1994 my dad kindly took me to my first game in 99 my mum kindly bought me my first shirt in 95 love the fans the club so much we have brilliant owners now

Freakin brilliant, was just looking around to see if Copa had anything on Newcastle and this shows up just a couple of hours later!
Glad you enjoyed it Mistah!
People say copa90 fell off this content is unreal its just different to a few years ago
It is different. No presenter, no two hour videos from Berlin. This is cheaper.
This was, like most things Magpie, a roller-coaster. Been a fan since '98 and this club kills me some days but i wouldn't cheer for anyone else. Getting there for a game one day is on my bucket list. Cheers from 🇨🇦.
Newcastle was one of my first kits! Love it
The clubs should pay 50% for buss/train and match tickets for the away fans!
Your forgetting food and beer discount. Maybe accommodation? How about a dog sitter, that could help.

06:54 “It just needs somebody to put money into it.” That was a prophetic comment indeed. Newcastle United are probably most fans second favourite club with beyond all doubt the most dedicated fans in the land. I look forward to seeing what they can now achieve in the football world. Oh and I’m a Blackburn Rovers supporter with no connection to them.
PS Thanks for producing Alan Shearer. 😊
I've a lot of respect for the Newcastle fans! I've to drive 2 hours (and another 2 hours back home) for every home game of PSV Eindhoven myself, but this is on another level!
These are so well done. Absolutely fantastic to watch
Wonderful but somehow so sad of a documentary ...... The fans, the city , the people of Newcastle deserve something better for sure ....
I've always rooted for Newcastle even they are not my club. I would hate to see them relegated and I am always happy to see them safe. Great supporters
Wonderful video toons are the best fanbase out there and with new ownership our club will be right there with the best of em

You're welcome Alvaro. We hope you enjoyed it!
As am American based NUFC fan I’ve understood some but not all of the fan’s grumbling... I get it now
Loved it! great job! Captures the mood perfectly! thnanks
I’m a Preston North End fan and I strongly admire their fans and passion
I am a 47 year old Geordie and we were vibrant, Happy, Crazy, When we went away from home but these Newcastle fans now look miserable and it makes you wonder why they even bother !
I think that is why the atmosphere in the stadium is non existent anymore due to a lot of old school fans turning their back on the modern game.
If that was an away coach going from Union Berlin, Athletic Bilboa, Lazio, Roma, Juventus etc, They would be singing, Flags everywhere, And everyone going crazy.
Looking at that coach it was like The Train Spotters Annual Trip with the half hearted singing and the ashen faced fans looking like they are on their way to face a firing squad !
What has happened to football fans in England because that was depression personified !
Have to hope the club can figure out something in the long run to help supporters travel. As an American, I can only imagine if these fans grew up here watching MLS. Traveling across time zones to watch your team play, sometimes across continent ha.
As a Toon fan this was just a brilliant watch, and reminds me of a number of long away trips. One particular memory of Norwich away, finding trains cancelled, 5 of us crammed into the back of a taxi costing £500 quid after being beaten 5-2. The biggest crime is how Sky treat fans with contempt and use our loyalty against us. #Bruceout
I had to watch this after the huge deal made! Congrats to the loyal supporters that stuck with this club in the bad days, you're about to be rewarded.
RESPECT From Greece .

So excited for this
I've been saying it for years; TV/FA take advantage of the fact that Newcastle have the best away following in the country 👏

What the hell actually happened to ya lot.. Weren't you folks 2 times CL winner back in the 1980's ?
@@prayaaskochhar8783 Off the field, we've been one of the most horrendously mis-managed football clubs in the country. It's a miracle we're still in business
I love Newcastle united! I have been following this team since I was a kid. It has always been my dream to make it to a home game! But I have been lucky to see them in person on an away trip to Liverpool!
Much love from the U.S.A.
My first memory of Newcastle is those two teammates beating each other up in the middle of a game. Was right when I first started watching soccer and I found it hilarious.
I’m American and it’s called football not soccer
My favorite american
@@masonbalogun6713 nah it's soccer here. Deal with it... its an English word that's still used in England till this day...
@@masonbalogun6713 It doesn't matter so much how you call it, football, soccer, calcio, or whatever, as long as people understand what you mean, it is fine. It's all the same sport. I prefer the term football, because it is the universal name but there is no need to correct people if they use a different one.
@@profkluk No. Its football.
great film, look forward to an updated version now
Brilliant watch cheers all involved
I don’t know why I haven’t seen this til now, but Whatta beautifully produced bit.. It really shows what it’s all about to be a Newcastle supporter, and to go even further, a football supporter. This is why these last 15+ years under Mike Ashley has been a emotional nightmare for me and probably every other NUFC fan in the world. The pride for the colors is a magical thing.
I hope the makers of this documentary come back and talk to all those people in 5 years…
My first Newcastle game was against Sheffield Wednesday in 1997. We need the fans to have a say in the running of the club, bring and bring back my passion for the game, this club and the city.
Documentaries like this makes you appreciate the competition, fans, history of football. It makes you hope that one day your club could reach the pinnacle of the football pyramid which is winning trophies. Clubs like leicester and lille are truly an inspiration in the modern era. Gives everyone more than a beacon of hope that one day their own club could reach the promised land.
This channel is like the Vice of football, but different in a very good way
Fairplay to the chap who travelled 40hours from Malaysia!
I’ve been missing going to the Newcastle games, can’t wait until the fans are allowed to back to the games! Isn’t the same watching at home
I travelled from Nottingham to home games and away in the 80s,90s meeting some great lads I don't go anymore because of work and now living in Wales all the best to lads I have met and drank with from the Nottingham mag .
Good perspective
Newcastle deserves to be atleast in top 5 clubs in england list. They deserve a better owner. Not a business only man who understands nothing about the fan's passion and culture.
Greetings from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 From a Sydney FC fan all the respect to Newcastle United what a great proud club.

Remember my first away day. I was 18 went alone on a 3h ride, grouped with my lads and went on another 4h in other way. We where there all day. When we wanted to go home the train was late 2-3h. Imagine 100 people singing whole night. We came home the other day travelling another 7h. Away days are the best days!
I've got absolutely no connection to Newcastle Utd, frankly I think they're kind of boring, but GOD DAMN do I miss travelling to away games. This video made me really long for those days and journeys. Fuck Covid.
We’ll find normalcy again. Im confident.
Away Days are something we will are wanting back next season!
Massive cheers to NUFC-Supporters. Coming from the very North East of Germany and being a supporter of Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division, we know that feeling of getting the train on friday evening just to watch a 1-1 draw against Mainz-reserve team on saturday 2pm. Best days are, when our reserve team is in a home-game action on sunday so that when you get back to your beautiful hometown in the middle of the night you can take a short nap, go to the reserve team and see all your beautiful bastards of friends again. This is all what football is about. And those lads in the doc just missed a massive 4-2 away win. Open the stadiums. And when you open them, don‘t forget those away supporters.
I'm from Plymouth and was there the day Newcastle got promoted back into the premier league while we got relegated to league 1. When the game finished we played 'we are the champions', it was bittersweet
We support you ever morrreeeeeeeeee!
Feel good to see that all of the fans dedication and support is finally now gonna pay off with this new era upon us
This is dedication
Love Newcastle!!!
Brilliant supporters ,deserve a lot more success , great people from the North East 👍🏻
As an American football fan I feel like it’s almost a success story for fans like these the best teams come from the Midwest and the south the undisputed top three teams are from Ohio, Alabama and South Carolina. To make it even more enjoyable the west coast teams are not good and neither are the north east
