Newcastle fan here that's great content I have not seen a better look through our history on UA-cam. Most Newcastle fans valued the Inter Cities Fairs Cup 1969 as a major trophy at the time, alot of people debate whether it is but I don't think Arsenal, Leeds or Barcelona would give up theirs as it was the precursor of the UEFA Cup/Europa League. Although not a UEFA recognised competition it is recognised by FIFA as a major honour. It was the 2nd most major European honour after the European Cup in its time and was replaced by the UEFA Cup in that role .
@@FootballIconic Fair enough ,still a great video. I recognise the minor trophies like Texaco Cups and the Intertoto are laughable haha. There's books like 50 years of hurt that talk about our pains as Newcastle fans. Despite the league position we actually have hope now.If Newcastle actually won something or challenged again it bring so much happiness to the city
I think Newcastle will definitely became a footballing dynasty for sure. But it's going to be a gradual process. Unlike Chelsea and Manchester City who were somewhat of a top half finisher in the league before their takeover, Newcastle team needs a total reconstruction in all departments. Second, convincing big players to your project is going to be a huge task even if you have all the money in the world. But why I am optimistic of them to be successful is because they can look into examples of Chelsea and Manchester City on how they approached high profile players and how they structured a plan to work on. Having a high profile coach would have made the process more easier, but that doesn't make Eddie Howe a bad coach but he is a coach who has worked only in England and convincing players from outside the league would be a task of some sorts. This is what I feel about the current situation of Magpies.
People keep on saying this, but Newcastle were playing in the second tier of English football when Kevin Keegan first took over as manager and then rapidly ascended to be challenging for the Premier League title and attracting world class players. What's so different this time?

I wonder if they (Newcastle United) will get Messi into Premier League. I guess this is a crazy wishful thinking of the impossible. I mean critics of Messi had been saying he is not build for PL unlike CR7. Seems like the best ground to prove his ability to carry in PL looking at how ridiculous the owners budget would be. Few points in getting him in: 1. His (Messi) contract is about to expire in PSG. 2. NUFC needs a rebranding. Getting Messi would be a crazy, insane move and may even be the talk of the century, like how it did for PSG. Then let Messi do like how PSG did to Mbappe, let him call out who should be signing into this team. I believe with his talent and captaincy, he would be able to know how to improve the existing team and bring in more firepower. I mean this guy is a strategies in the field with his own rights. Woalah, dream team. xD
It’s crazy the amount of top quality players di Maria, pogba mbappe who are out of contact in June they could have a ridiculous squad next season lol 😂
Forget about the middle 1 he himself ruined man u it take other 2 n leave pogba in the bin but they could have a great team but need to watch fair play rule.

Newcastle need to focus on getting a football philosophy and system in place. Basically, do what Red Bull did - I say this, because Newcastle is honestly NOT a competitive team at all as it stands, with no apparent system or style at all. They are in the 'How do we go from zero to the top?' basket, and building a system is FAR more reliable an investment than trying to build a team to do that. There is no quick fix - Gone are the days an endless bank account could be used to accelerate things.
Given they’re 14th and could possibly finish 9th if things go completely right the next 6 games, I’d say they’re pretty close to fixing things as it stands
The graph about the owners wealth is very misleading. Neither psg and man city are owned by a single owner. For psg, Nasser is the President, but he and the club are final tally backed by the QSI (Quatar Sport Investment) whose wealth is obviously over 8billions. The same applies to man city as well, the club is also backed by a whole country/government, just like Newcastle basically.
Hughton seems to get a raw deal wherever he goes. A good, if unexciting manager that I would have bit your arm off for in the 2010s. Always had a soft spot for Newcastle due to the Robson connection among other things. Sportswashing is a real concern but I'm glad Newcastle fans may have something to sing about next season.
They will be successful eventually but it will take them a much longer time to get there than it did for Chelsea and Man City simply because Newcastle are in significantly worse shape than those clubs were at the time of their takeovers. Newcastle may even get relegated this season as I don't see any top players joining them in the next transfer window regardless of the money due to their current form. No top player wants to play in the championship. Maybe they can get a few like Marcelo on short term loans until the end of the season but ultimately they will have to build this team from scratch in the second division and maybe that's not a bad thing. It's certainly a long term project.
Bobby Robson took over a poor Newcastle team and 2 seasons later we were in the Champoins league on a limited budget.. We will be in CL within 3 seasons (if we stay up..haha)
3 wins last 3 games, they're staying up for sure now, but I see the new financial fair play rules to be their problem becoming as big as Man city or Chelsea cuz those teams didn't have to deal with these new rules at the start of rebuilding them
Are you sure about that lol they just shot up from 19th to 9th in the space of 3 months and that was only with one transfer window so just imagine where they’ll be after 2 years. I think they will comfortably be in the top 4 in the next 3 yrs easy. Just remember this comment
Interesting parallel with Chelsea and City which each had previously had little success, albeit Chelsea were improving. It will take time and require a lot of big players who will have to be prepared to go a few seasons of not winning or playing in Europe. They cannot just splash the cash as there is a limit to how much you can spend although they could copy City’s financial engineering that purchased their titles. To catch up with the big three of City, L’pool and Chelsea and contend for a spot in the Champions League, they will need a huge investment in players and a top manager. They first have to get out of the relegation zone and then past the likes of ManU, West Ham, Wolves, Arsenal, Leicester and the other wannabe top team Tottenham and before that Aston Villa and Everton. Will be interesting to see if it happens and if it does how long it takes. They might end up like Spurs, being considered a big club because they have a big stadium.
@@patrickmccutcheon9361 if you really follow this channel you won't say Tottenham is just a wannabe. Tottenham is considered a big club because they always stand among them for a very long time not because if their trophies cabinet or even the size of their stadium. I'm a united supporter and I never heard anything about tottenham fans claiming they're a powerhouse. If you don't want tottenham to be seen as a big club. you've to wait until they're stripped away from top 6. I would say tottenham is a cursed top club rather than a wannabe.
@Amirul Asyraf how can they be a top club if they never win anything? By what metric are they big? That from time to time they are in the top 4 or 6? They have won a title since Everton, Leeds, Derby, Villa, Blackburn or Leicester have.
@@patrickmccutcheon9361 they are called big 6 because they're in the top 6 rank it's just that. not because of their trophies. it's so simple to understand.
It’s going go one of too ways Newcastle United became one of the biggest clubs in the nest 5-10 years or they are a team of players who don’t want to be there and are in league one in the next 5-10 years there will be no in between for me
NUFC will be one of the powerhouse's of European football within 5 years. 2 top quality signings of 5 in the door in this window and another 6 to add in the summer. By the next January window we will add another 2 or 3 and in the background we will begin picking up top junior talent globally, and in UK to add to our new infrastructure and academy... Some things are inevitable and the owners - PIF, Reuben's and PCP simply cannot fail.. the writing is already on the wall. NUFC are coming!
The inconsistency start Is a bit misleading the clubs only suffered 5 relegations in the full history 2 under Mike Ashley which has been the last 14 years
Coming back to this after Newcastle's draw against Arsenal at the Emirates and Wow. Eddie Howe's done a remarkable job already. I can only imagine how scary they're going to be with all the big-money marquee signings heading their way. Soon it could feel like we're living in some fat bastard's Fifa Career Mode simulation with unlimited Financial Takeovers, Future Stars cards & he's going to be such a sore loser that he will surely restart match or turn off his console in rage, Every-Single-Time, things aren't going his way. So savor your victories folks
He'll have a starting 11 of Ballon D'or winners while the rest of us are signing left backs every transfer window for some odd reason. And we will all get relegated in circulation.

I mean critics of Messi had been saying he is not build for PL unlike CR7. Seems like the best ground to prove his ability to carry in PL looking at how ridiculous the owners budget would be.
Few points in getting him in:
Forget about the middle 1 he himself ruined man u it take other 2 n leave pogba in the bin but they could have a great team but need to watch fair play rule.
early? early hehe this is gonna be fun
Haha big up
video as good as your voice lezzgo💯
This video has just catapulted Ayose Pérez back into my memory banks. As a Newcastle supporter I'm obviously a big fan, but just seeing him in this video made me realise that I haven't seen or heard anything from him for yonks. He just seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth...
It’s going to take them a decade, but eventually NewCastle will be near the top of the premier league year after year.
Lol this aged well
@@ianjackson8043 it's december
Nice video
Would you ever make a video on Kaka, Reus or Seedorf?
All insane players. AC Milan were blessed. Gotta cover those boys in the future
@@FootballIconic Ai man you're a legend
Love the videos, this channel is honestly one of the best on UA-cam
Keep it up
@@FootballIconic hol up Reus. AC milan?
@@TragicTester034 Lol, the other two.
Extra info: the predecessor of Bein sports is Al Jazeera sports. In fact bein sports was founded by high ranking executives of Al Jazeera Media group, Al-Khalifi being one of them.
Vince Mcmahon. Ha. Seriously, I'm looking forward to see what NUFC actually do with the cash, once it starts flowing properly..
what a video as a newcastle fan
Newcastle need to focus on getting a football philosophy and system in place.
Basically, do what Red Bull did - I say this, because Newcastle is honestly NOT a competitive team at all as it stands, with no apparent system or style at all. They are in the 'How do we go from zero to the top?' basket, and building a system is FAR more reliable an investment than trying to build a team to do that.
There is no quick fix - Gone are the days an endless bank account could be used to accelerate things.
Talking shite...
Given they’re 14th and could possibly finish 9th if things go completely right the next 6 games, I’d say they’re pretty close to fixing things as it stands
What about the 1969 Fairs cup win?! That is the last major trophy. They had to beat sporting Lisbon, Feyenoord and Rangers along the way.
Very Interesting.. 👀
Will the glory days beheading, back to St James park?
Hughton seems to get a raw deal wherever he goes. A good, if unexciting manager that I would have bit your arm off for in the 2010s. Always had a soft spot for Newcastle due to the Robson connection among other things. Sportswashing is a real concern but I'm glad Newcastle fans may have something to sing about next season.
Mike Ashley ripped our soul out Amanda and Co are putting it back together
I’m an American and new to watching football/soccer so this will be my team I guess
How can anyone like it that Newcastle has this dreatful owners. Everybody should boykot the club!
Been a toon fan for 50 years .I just hope we win something before I die
They will be successful eventually but it will take them a much longer time to get there than it did for Chelsea and Man City simply because Newcastle are in significantly worse shape than those clubs were at the time of their takeovers. Newcastle may even get relegated this season as I don't see any top players joining them in the next transfer window regardless of the money due to their current form. No top player wants to play in the championship. Maybe they can get a few like Marcelo on short term loans until the end of the season but ultimately they will have to build this team from scratch in the second division and maybe that's not a bad thing. It's certainly a long term project.
Money talks, they'll go allright, and they'll have leave clauses if they decide to leave for less money following a possible relegation
Bobby Robson took over a poor Newcastle team and 2 seasons later we were in the Champoins league on a limited budget.. We will be in CL within 3 seasons (if we stay up..haha)
3 wins last 3 games, they're staying up for sure now, but I see the new financial fair play rules to be their problem becoming as big as Man city or Chelsea cuz those teams didn't have to deal with these new rules at the start of rebuilding them
This aged well
Are you sure about that lol they just shot up from 19th to 9th in the space of 3 months and that was only with one transfer window so just imagine where they’ll be after 2 years.
In fairness Spurs are considered a top 6 club because they’ve finished in the top 6 consistently for 18 years and have won 24 major trophies.
@@atrlawes98 It is over sixty years since they won a title. FA cups, league cups and UEFA cups are consolation prizes.
It’s going go one of too ways Newcastle United became one of the biggest clubs in the nest 5-10 years or they are a team of players who don’t want to be there and are in league one in the next 5-10 years there will be no in between for me
can you please make vids on the hopelessness of Everton and Norwich?
Can you do a downfall of FC Barcelona
Good video...
Newcastle is top 3 😂 right now

Billy red nuts
Mark my words they win the league on the centenary of their last league win.
This video needs follow up. "One year after takeover".
