Dalglish is certainly a genius. I still remember my Liverpool fans said "no wonder Blackburn Rovers won the league, Dalglish has changed side". Shearer is a great footballer, his character and discipline remind me of the great British General Montgomery; tactical, precise and know his game plan very well. England has lacked great players like him over the past decades. Perhaps prolific and characteristically solid players like Owen, Shearer, Gerard, Beckham, Scholes, Ince, Platt, Sherringham and Pearce comes only every 20 years.
@@whitetroutchannel At Blackburn he scored 112 goals in 138 league games; at Newcastle he scored 148 in 303. How about assists? 41 assists from open play in 138 league games for Blackburn, and 69 in 303 for Newcastle. The only season when he played at the peak of his powers for Newcastle was his very first one. After that, he did his ligaments in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 1997-98 season and lost his pace and explosiveness. He was still a very good striker, just not the great one he was during his incredible 4 seasons at Blackburn (and, again, the first one at Newcastle). Sorry Steve but Hughie Gallacher (Hugh Kilpatrick Gallacher) was probably the first Number 9 legend, with 143 goals in just 174 games for the club. (0.81 goals per game.) Despite the wealth of talent we have in today's England team in 2024, we don't have a player with the gigantic profile tat Alan Shearer had. He was prolific, chose his boyhood club over fortunes and silverware, and retired as the Premier leagues' higher scorer ever. Alan Shearer is that man. Him, and him alone. 260 premier league goals... Two hundred and sixty... The King.
Alan will never be properly appreciated as the best there was in the 90s, 2 prime seasons out to injury and also playing on them mouldy and bobbly pitches to score 260 goals is just to show how good he actually was.

Love this! What an absolute legend⚫️⚪️
Great striker, his best years were in Blackburn though
dont be insane shearer's best was at newcastle
Sometimes a myth is one thing and facts point in another direction.
Best Striker I ever seen
The human , the idol, the example of never give up !! He will never give up until NUFC Win a a major honour.. 2021 has brought NUFC in the fore as the most financially supported football club on this planet!!! That right there is a gateway to match days never dreamed.. HWTL. Kudos Alan Shearer a Mag from day one to day whenever !!Respect and total Euphoria !!
Al is the man . Club and country
Just the fact that winning the league with Blackburn rovers is a great accomplishment
I feel like fans these days just see shearer as some bloke on the tele, but the reality of it is he is one of the greatest out and out strikers of all time
Shearer is one player who doesn't require trophies or titles to hold his place in the footballing hall of legends
Shearer wasnt the fastest but he could do everything, headed goals, penaltys, free kicks, volleys from 20 yards out, captain his club and country , tap ins
Big up from Nairobi, Kenya
Big Al Is the Dog's Bollocks...I was In the San Siro when he scored 2 goals against Inter Milan In the Champions League...Fcuking Mint...
When you think he lost a good 3 seasons to serious injuries, put another 100 goals to his total . Best premier league forward ever.
msec Ses if he had went to Man U he would of scored double the goals and would 100% be at the top of every list because he went to Newcastle and played with mediocre players he only scored a mere 148 goals in 302 apps and retired as record goal scorer with 260 goals in the premier league people like you say he top 5 who in your mind are the 4 ahead of him .....had he played for man u Liverpool arsenal he would of doubled that and anyone with a brain and no bias would know that
@msec Ses he is the best because he holds the record for most goals in the prem league therefore alan shearer is the best striker in modern premier league history stat.
whitetroutchannel he held the record. It’s no longer his, unfortunately.
@@Razaron Yeah true,I mean he never played for the top teams, man Utd,arsenal,Liverpool, if he would have, who knows how many goals he would have scored?,after keegan went he carried nufc under numerous managers, the complete package, a truly quality no9.
@@ooi_gilesy_loo4737 Hi,not sure I'd put anyone ahead of him,we've seen all types of goalscorers from Henry, Owen,Fowler,Aguero, etc, plus those on the world stage, just for me he had everything a forward needs to succeed, and goals from all angles and all types of finishes. Quality.
By God,he knew how to score goals,he was robbed of two seasons through serious injuries, which robbed him of his pace, one of the all time great strikers.
He scored sooo many goals.
Alan shearer. My biggest striker of all time. Yes u are.
Still my favourite striker and I'm not even a Toon Army fan, Shearer was just brilliant.
He's the very definition of "Stoic"..
...and also, "Legend".
Sorry Steve but Hughie Gallacher (Hugh Kilpatrick Gallacher) was probably the first Number 9 legend, with 143 goals in just 174 games for the club. (0.81 goals per game.) He was a centre forward at only five foot five inches on his tiptoes and helped us win the first division in 1927. I was born in 1959 after Hughie died and even I know the song they used to sing in the stands about him. Such was his beloved stature in the region. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hughie_Gallacher#Newcastle_United
"Wee Hughie Gallacher, the little Scots lad."
"The best centre forward, N'castle ever had."
Allan Shearer was most certainly better as an all round centre forward but with 148 gaols in 303 games = 0.488 per game.
The best English striker ever wish he came to utd but look how much he means to his people Gary lineker Ian Wright Alan shearer are match of the Day
Alan shearer is the best ever
That was Jimmy Greaves and his 400+ Goals bit Alan was fantastic :)
Thee best 👌
Pistol Pete nope
Dolfo Merci lad what is yojr twitter or something you seem to act a big lad, trying to annoy Newcastle fans for no reason, i really wanna see what u look like
Pistol Pete, Who is better than Shearer in your opinion?
Despite the wealth of talent we have in today's England team in 2024, we don't have a player with the gigantic profile tat Alan Shearer had.
He was prolific, chose his boyhood club over fortunes and silverware, and retired as the Premier leagues' higher scorer ever.
Considering the legendary players we've had in Englands Premier league, it's an absolute delight to have an Englishman top of that pile, and probably always will have an Englishman on top of that list.
Alan Shearer is that man.
Him, and him alone.
260 premier league goals...
Two hundred and sixty...
The King.
£27 pounds a week when he was at Southampton.
Simply The Best
Oh what i would do to get another Shearer at Newcastle.
Ruggerd and inspirational!
Alan Shearer, Legend,
Alan Shearer was unreal. So good, clean, class.
Shearer new director of football club Newcastle united 🖤⚽💯
R.I.P. Sir Bobby Robson.
The king. Harry Kane is a poor man's Alan Shearer.
Great Alan.respect from Croatia
One of the best number 9s ever
It's just a shame he didn't come along today, with the backing we have now and Shearer at the helm !
The best 2 all round strikers to have played in the premiership: Alan Shearer and Thiery Henry.
Klinsmann would have been in the mix if he had stayed a few more years at Tottenham. What a complete center forward he was. Superb.
Such a great English player
When this man played for England you knew we had a tough player that would give evry thing he had
My absolute hero.
Alan will never be properly appreciated as the best there was in the 90s, 2 prime seasons out to injury and also playing on them mouldy and bobbly pitches to score 260 goals is just to show how good he actually was.
Alan fookin Shearer whatta legend
