Thanks a ton! I am humble by your feedback. I don't own a kiln, so I take my pieces to a pottery studio nearby and get it fired in an electric kiln there. Hence I won't be able to make a video that. Sorry.
Hi, Beautiful piece.. love your videos.. Can you please tell me whether to use a hanging finding or a stud for this earring? if using stud how did you attach it?
Thank you so much! :) it's a stud. I would ideally attach the stud posts using an industrial adhesive (Araldite, found in most hardware stores in India) once the piece is fired.
I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln. They are made from earthenware clay. So they need to fired in order to be used. I use nichrome /high temperature wires. Gauge 28 for stick beads and ghungroo beads, Guage 26 for earrings and gauge 24 for pendants

You can check our community posts. I had this question if people can recommend varnishes best suited for terracotta jewellery. There are three to four different types of brands people have suggested. Please do through that. It might be helpful.
Hi do you have any video what are the types of hooks you are using is it readymade or prepared by you means pls share it will be very useful. Thank you
Hello! I use nichrome wires gauge 24 for pendants, gauge 26 for earrings and gauge 28 for ghungroo beads and stick beads. As these are high temp wires they won't melt in the kiln during firing.
Well if you are in Bangalore, you can check MK Fancy, Jayanagar 4 th block complex, next to big Mishra pedha, bangalore for materials. You can also visit the main market in Bangalore to purchase in bulk.
Depends on what kind of clay you use. If its air dry then it might be okay. But if the clay package says it needs firing, it definitely needs firing. If its only let to dry, and you try painting it, the piece will disintegrate. Think about this: You take some soil, let it dry, when that hardened piece comes in contact with moisture it will go back to being its original state! paint is wet, so anything moist that comes in contact with un-fired clay can disintegrate the piece completely. Hope this explanation helps:)
Well if its fired well , its durability increases making it stronger. But that doesn't mean its unbreakable. Firing it well helps - preferably in a electric kiln by a professional (not at home using crude methods).

What happens if we don't fire the pieces and instead just dry and color it?

Mam you do shading dry or sun dry,
I let my pieces dry for about 3 days to a week at room temperature. Then it's fired in an electric kiln. After fired, I paint upon it.
Hi dear can u tell me is there any chances of breaking terracotta jewelry after baking if yes then what can b the reason?
Well if its fired well , its durability increases making it stronger. But that doesn't mean its unbreakable. Firing it well helps - preferably in a electric kiln by a professional (not at home using crude methods).
