    Clay used: Laguna red low fire earthen ware clay without grog.
    Firing (Bisque) at cone 06.
    Wire used: Nichrome wire gauge 28 for stick beads and ghungroo beads; gauge 26 for earrings and 24 for pendants.
    Paints used: Acrylic paints (Master's touch, folk art and Anitas)
    Brushes: 00,2,4,6 sizes round tip synthetic brushes. I use multiple brands.

    Hi mam i am a beginner i am not able to know exactly how the consistancy of clay should be and when drying it is getting bent and leaving cracks your suggestions will be helpful

      Press middle and sides. It will just help in getting the dome shape of the jhumka back!

      Glad you find it useful.
      And no, you can't interchange or use one in place of another. Nichrome is a high temp wire that won't melt in the kiln. Gear wire is something you use only for assembling pieces once the jewellery is fired & painted.

      @@agilandeshwarikumaresan1211 I don't follow that method of firing. I just take my pieces to a pottery studio nearby and get it fired in an electric kiln.

    Mam,can you tell me which size of jhumka mould are you using for connector bead?

      3rd or 4th one. 4th would be better. Atleast it would withstand the weight of the dome.

    Hi, I have a doubt....if one part is dried and other is wet. While drying the other piece, with the already dried piece get effected...will the pins colour get changed...pls reply

      Absolutely not! nothing will change. it will infact make the process easier to put the pieces together. if you are working on a two level stud jhumka - I would suggest you first make the stud with the u-pin inside(very important). Let it dry for a few hours till it firms up and then make the jhumka part and attach the stud part right away. Nichrome pins have a little color alteration only after its fired.

Kindly pls explain how to maintain the uniformity of gungroo bead n is their any tool to measure d clay to do even size gungroo beads. Kindly let me know d measurement of nicrome wire v should take to insert in gungroo beads..ty

    Mam air hardening clay is very soft ,making designs on it is very difficult, should I leave to dry little before making designs kindly clarify my doubt

      For the ghungroo beads its a loop, for the hook part I use a u-pin.

      I have uploaded videos on several bead designs on my channel. A little unclear on the question, but I use a refill. These days you get a hole maker in stores/online. Try a toothpick. Hope I answered your question.

      I picked up the knife on the US. Back in bangalore I use to use a kitchen light kitchen knife which worked perfectly well for me.

      For pendants I use Guage 24, earrings Guage 26 and stick beads and ghungroo beads Guage 28.

      Sure, absolutely. The key is for jewellery making is that the clay should be fine. You could certainly give it a shot with the clay you have.

      It's ok maam no prblm, maam while doing pendant nd studs wt would be the thickness, and can we fire in home itsef??? Next hw we can know that jewellry is baked, and can I choose it as profession without going to class, I am good in drawing nd crafts, I am very confused, is this profession fruitfull???

      @@rekhasadvik3845 - the thickness for pendants is 0.6 cms
      - I have never done it at home, i have always taken my pieces to a pottery studio close by and got it fired in an electric kiln there. So I may not be the right person to give you guidance on firing this at home. I wouldn't recommend doing it at home unless you have a kiln.
      - there are somethings you must know before really wanting to make this a career choice. It's good to know that you are creative. Please try your hands at clay. If you enjoy working with it then you can decide. Making it a career choice is completely your decision. There are institutions /colleges that teach ceramics as part of their curriculum. It's a much bigger field than what you and I know :) 12+ years of experience and I am still learning. That's the only amount of advice I can personally provide. Wish you the best!
