  • We're taking a look at the new Panasonic Lumix G100 camera, a brand new vlogging camera from Panasonic Lumix.
    Available here: bit.ly/3dtk9s5
    The Panasonic Lumix G100 is aimed at vloggers and content creators and makes for a great step up from something like a smart phone or a great camera to get started with vlogging. The 5-axis image stabilisation makes it easy to film handheld while the built in microphones mean you can get great audio with a small package (of course you can still use an external mic if you'd prefer).

    Are you excited for the G100? Is it something that you want to get your hands on?

    Yes, I am looking forward to getting the G100. There is a lot of silly UA-cam hate here about the camera, but lots of people do not seem to appreciate the value of it being an interchangeable lens camera. It is the smallest ICL with an EVF available, and yet it can takes lenses from ultra-wide to super telephoto, and there are plenty of fast lenses from f1.4, to 1.2 and 0.95 that will make this by far the best low light small camera. Panasonic pushed the vlogging side, but it is the creative content side where this camera truly shines. It is not perfect, but it is a very exciting camera for those of us with an artistic bent.

      Edgar G. Fuji makes very likeable cameras that produce great stills. I don’t think their video keeps up with Panasonic and Sony, but I have yet to meet an unhappy Fuji user. However, I don’t recommend Fuji because of the small lens choices for the system. The lenses that are available are excellent, but for my liking I would find it too limiting. For whatever reason, third party manufacturers have thrown everything at both MFT and E-mount. If the Fuji universe suits your needs then good luck to you - they are fabulous cameras for what they do.
      I think your price wishes are unrealistic. Cameras in the price range that you want have less features/more limitations. The G100 price is comparable with the Sony ZV1, and each is able to do some things that the other doesn’t. The Sony’s big standout advantage is Product Showcase, and the Panasonic’s standout is interchangeable lenses. This means that the Panasonic can do ultra-wide angle, while Sony users complain that it doesn’t go wide enough. For me the lens issue is a bigger deal than the Product Showcase. But, with both cameras the price is pretty good. For example the G100 is cheaper than the LX100 II. I too would love the price to be lower, but I would prefer a more capable camera, than accept poorer feature list with lower price.

      Edgar G. Used is generally a good route to take, although while a camera is fairly new there are few used ones up for sale.

    The interchangable lens is a big selling point as it adds so much versatility. The issue with the G100 is maybe aimed at vloggers but in reality it is made for photographers.
    I just made an episode on it. To be honest if you are really a vlogger and not much into photogra
    phy I really thing there are 6 reasons not to buy.

    Thanks for review!) Is there some threat in front of the lense for ND Filter?) Thanks

      Alexandr Kabir There are a couple of ultra-wide lenses like the 7-14mm which cannot take filters, but 95%+ of all MFT lenses have filter threads. The 12-32mm kit lens has (from memory so I could wrong on exact size) a small 37mm filter thread, so filters will be relatively cheap, and if you already have a filter that is larger, it is easy to use a step-up ring to attach it. The advantage of the G100 over the Sony is that there are more than 70 lenses available for Micro Four Thirds, so whatever kind of photography you are into there are lenses available for it.

    G100 = crippled M50 that costs more.
