Its that triple whammy of gags I love so much. First, the hit with small but far away, you just about stop laughing at that when we get the Dougal-Looking-out-the window gag followed by Larry Duff going off a cliff 🤣
This episode... For most of us outside Ireland, we'd never seen Graham Norton before - an instant classic character. And the start of his road to chat show host. Still, in Britain, if a person's explained something 10 times and it hasn't sunk in, an exasperrated "These are SMALL, those are FAR AWAY..." is likely to escape their lips.
Favourite line in the episode "Now Tom this is the first time you have been trusted with such a large consignment of raw sewage" Such a blatantly obvious set up. Feckin hilarious! 😂🤣
Sunrise in midsummer on the west coast of Ireland is about 5 a.m. We’re about as far north as Labrador so the nights are very short in summer and long in winter.
The Graham Norton show has been going for 15 years and is still one of the funniest shows around. Especially if Miriam Margoyles is a guest. If Tom Hanks or Tom Cruise are on it might be best to hide any sharp knives.
Thanks for updating this video! I'm one of the unfortunate souls who couldn't watch the previously uploaded version because I have no way to prove my age to UA-cam and I was gutted that I couldn't watch along with you, so I really appreciate the update 😊
My ex wife had bipolar and when she was what they called high after not taking her meds she would be exactly like father Furlong, she would just endlessly talk and talk and talk all day and night until she lost her voice but then still try to talk until she went back on her meds, it was a real nightmare so I know exactly how father Dougal and Ted felt.
When they were shooting the second episode with Fr Stone getting electrocuted playing crazy golf, the cast had to get soaked by a rain machine. Dermot Morgan was so annoyed he allegedly said “What will you do next?! Cover us in sh**e?!” And that’s where the idea for soaking them in sewerage came from! In fact you can see Ardal and Dermot run outta shot as it was so cold and the director was roaring at them to get back and be soaked some more!!!!!
Reminds me of the story about Viz magazine in the UK, which publishes some very funny cartoon strips (for grown ups). The owner/publisher once pointedly mentioned to the artists he thought the magazine was getting a bit 'bottomy' (fart jokes, etc). The next issue was packed with them. He kept his mouth shut afterwards.
There's a real magic road in Scotland - it's the Electric Brae (along the A719 in Ayrshire) where you can leave the handbrake off a parked car (in neutral) and it'll roll uphill.
There was nearly an extra twist to the episode - after the sewage gag, they were going to have the lorry drive off with Tom and the priests on board, only to reveal a sign pointing in the opposite direction to "Pleasure World: Europe's Most Exciting Adventure Playground (Free entry to priests)"! It was dropped from the final script because it looked too much as though Ted and Dougal had already walked past Pleasure World and not bothered about it.
I love that classic clip of the Renault 5 towing the caravan up hill, that's what you get when you try to to a circa 1700kg caravan with an 800kg car 🤣🤣🤣
the writers of the show were Irish guys who lived in London, they had written for a lot UK comic acts, so it's like a knowledge of Irish life with an added complexity.
Ah good, just gives me another excuse to watch your great reaction once again! lol ❤ BTW, I have age restricted mode set to off, but I can't even find your original upload of this episode, and it's disappeared from my Liked Videos...🤔
Indeed - though I honestly think this first appearance was the funniest of them. I've seen it so many times, and it never fails to make me cry laughing. They might have peaked a bit too early with this admittedly brilliant running gag! And the guy who plays Larry is brilliant (Tony Guilfoyle).
Hi, Brad & Lucy ... AWESOME is all I can Say, Thankyou for another Great Reaction, Video ... Was wondering can You React to 'Eddie Murphy's Delirious' Standup Show❓️ either as a Whole, or by just Clipped Segments❓️ would Love to See, that .. and/or more George Carlin & Al Bundy etc ... Thanks again .. Stay Safe&Healthy & Keep Laughing.. Cheers 🍻
@@bradlucy Sounds Good, Hope it doesn't take to Long .. Can you do any 'Eddie Murphy's Delirious' Standup Routine❓️ While WE wait❓️ Thanks for Replying.. anyways.
I love the intro of the caravan rolling backwards. I have seen that many times in different places and it is never not funny! Seeing Brad stoned was far more entertaining than the reaction video 😝Just be careful the metal in microwave thing, that could go seriously badly wrong! 😱 Being Irish myself Father Ted was always entertaining but a complete over the top exaggerated stereotype of (most of) us. Father Dougal was always my favourite, he was the perfect mixture of fecking eejit and gobshite 🤣 I also want to point out an exaggerated truth about Mrs Doyle, in Ireland it is considered rude to accept something/anything whether it is a gift or a cup of tea or biscuit etc the first time of asking, it is commonplace to wait to be asked at least twice or not 3 times, but Mrs Doyle takes it to the extreme for comedy effect. This Irish politeness does not work in England, as soon as you say "no" to something that is it! 🤣
I saw it the first time, with the nude man. So, I'm letting this play for the algorithm, but really I'm going to make something to eat. I liked Father Jack waking up on the yacht, surrounded by beautiful women. Based on earlier episodes, maybe not his 'demographic' (after all, he is a Catholic priest, banished to Craggy Island, 😞) Best Wishes. ☮
“These are small, the ones out there are far away” is one of the greatest lines of all time
Fun fact, it wasn't part of the script 😂
Other than "I hear you're a racist now father."

He shot more than a pigeon. He shot JR
Small Far Away that's one of the funniest lines in the whole series.
Father ted definitely played in canada. I used to watch it when i was a kid

Stoned.. sitting here thinking I've seen this .. I'm sure I've watched this reaction 🤣🤣
I have seen this one mabey 30 times and still cry laughing
This was a long time before "the Graham Norton show".
This episode "Hell" 1996. The GN show 2007
July 19th has come around again fast lol
I'd suggest The IT Crowd, it you've not already done this. Written by one of the same guys that did Ted, and just as good.
Small, far away.

One of the best episodes ever. So so so so funny. Classic ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
St Keverne stole St Justs goblet

One of my favourite episodes! X
Yeah it's the guy who shot the pigeon
I love you guys dont pause everytime you laugh and then go on a 5 minute verbal tangent s. More black books please!
I actually have a sore throat, so so funny, think you enjoyed it too 😀😀😀
You guys are great and watched first upload but will watch it again 🤣
Thank you so much 😀

Awesome! Thank you David 😁🍻
Managed to watch the first one, but I'll leave you a like and comment, to appease the almighty algorithm!
Thanks Harri 😁🍻
top notch vid always has me gassing ft
Yes thats the nut that shot the bird :D
watch the two Ronnies ice cream parlour
Funny how some reactions don't censor the bare arse and some do. One has to censor any smoking while most don't.
The funniest episode ever…😂
A thousand likes.
Tom shot a crow

Was this Father Larry Duff's first appearance?
Yep, it was the first appearance of the legend that was Father Larry Duff!
He’s tremendous fun
Speaking of Father Larry, have you seen this ua-cam.com/video/VbLOCAagJ0E/v-deo.html

Season 2 got a larger budget, script writers had more expansion with the characters.
That is my fav episode! By the way the man was fully naked on our TV.
Listen to Graham Norton’s commentary for Eurovision, it’s brilliant
Yes, he knows sarcasm
He's no Terry Wogan.
