Love the part when Bishop Brennan is running with his cape, he looks like a Vampire 🧛♂️ Then kicks Fr Ted so hard he flies like a ragdoll 😂😂 Was rolling with laughter... Hilarious! 🤣🤣 Fantastic, love it!!
The two writers of Father Ted saw Jim Norton in a small bit-part in an episode of Frasier, playing a snooty butler at a wine club that Frasier and Niles are vying with each other to get into. From that tiny role they knew he'd be perfect to play Bishop Brennan.
@@terencejay8845 then he was caught handing a briefcase of money to a prostitute. The excuses and alternative scenarios he used to explain it shows what a bad fiction writer he is.
The scene of Bishop Brennan running toward the house with his cape raised in the air is one of the most legendary Britcom scenes ever next to the scene of Basil Fawlty with the Germans.....you know the one.
Could you guys please give IT Crowd a chance? I know you watched a clip and didn't like it, but that's because you didn't know the context of the episode. It's made by the same people as Father Ted and has the same type of humour. Just give the first 2 episodes a chance!

Die laughing? Somebody already did that watching a British sitcom. One of the show The Goodies biggest claims to fame was the episode Kung Fu Kapers which was a secret Lancastrian martial art using black puddings as a weapon. In the scene where Bill Oddie is fighting Tim Brooke Taylor (dressed as a bagpiper in kilt) a TV viewer at home literally died laughing. It is not apocryphal, it actually happened and is documented. The Goodies Kung Fu Kapers video is on UA-cam.
@@Whippy99 I remember reading about this in the Book of Lists 45 years ago. The reason it became public IIRC was the wife of the man who died wrote to the Goodies and thanked them for making her husbands last moments so happy. I literally just put this together to my own shame as an Irish Ted fan who has seen this episode countless times... When Jack is doing his sarcastic apology he is also imitating a rabbit to make fun of Bishop Brennan because he fears them. I can't believe it's taken me this long to spot that...
Not to bring the mood down or anything, but Jim Norton (The actor who played Bishop Len Brennan) claimed that he has never seen this episode. After the death of Dermot Morgan (Father Ted actor), practically the day filming wrapped on series 3, Norton said they had so much fun making this episode, that it was 'too painful' to watch 😢
No wonder. 😒. Imagine having to edit all that filming too before it went out. I run Father Ted Fan Page on Facebook but can't bring myself to watch or quote that last ever episode.
That scene always reminds me of The Silence of The Lambs scene "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." I thought it was based on that. 😆

Bishop Brennan's actor Jim Norton has said that he's never sat down and watched the episode, he finds it too painful. He said this in the Father Ted documentary, and you could actually see him getting slightly choked when he explained it.

Great episode! (Though you talked through a couple of lines of dialog and so missed later jokes, like the 'Audience With Elton John' line from Dougal early on, which was one of the strongest in the episode. And didn't skip back to hear it)
Dont know if you know this derrmot morgan who plays father ted died of a heart attack at the father ted party after filming series 3 aged forty interesting fact i love them.

6:31 You're right, it really does sound like him!
Jim Norton who plays Bishop Brennan also played Einstein in Star Trek The Next Generation
I saw this specific episode well over 10 years ago, and I still laugh uncontrollably. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen (also the South Park with the ass-faces…that one absolutely kills me). It’s not particularly brilliant or anything, but it is HYSTERICAL!
Love father Ted. Always watch the repeats when they are on. Have you seen Max and Paddy that was funny especially the one with the pig.
3:05 This sound sequence was gold, and so was the entire episode 😂😂
In case you were wondering, that intro was actually a parody of how they did the camera work on an old show called NYPD Blue....
And his foot is going to get stuck in there!! I think we all got an insight into queen boomers mind tonight! 😂😂
This is the episode that sticks with me 😂😂
I've been waiting for this one, it's my favourite Father Ted episode ever!!!
I'm in love with this channel 😁
Great episode! (Though you talked through a couple of lines of dialog and so missed later jokes, like the 'Audience With Elton John' line from Dougal early on, which was one of the strongest in the episode. And didn't skip back to hear it)
In Scotland it’s arse. Arsehole is a common insult 😂
6:30 - Wierd.. like he's a mutual friend. I thought that's exactly the sound 😅
Bis6 Brennan dose the impossible here he robs the show😅😅😅
