  • FOX FLOAT forks feature a lightweight air spring design that automatically equalizes the positive and negative air chambers for increased sensitivity and traction, regardless of the air pressure setting.
    FOX FLOAT forks offer a highly tunable air spring that reduces feedback to the rider and provides increased sensitivity and traction. Available in 32, 34, 36 and 40 models, there’s a FLOAT fork to match every type of riding out there.

    Simply put Fox makes such great products!

    I think the bypass should be just a bit higher up to get a slightly higher pressure in the negative spring. The surface area is smaller for the neg spring so it needs to have a bit higher pressure to perfectly balance the air spring. The Fox rear shocks do this.
    The same goes for the RockShox line of SoloAir forks.
    Bring back the DualAir system. It's just better. I just switched from a RS Pike to a MRP Ribbon Air with independent pos/neg air spring adjustments and it is so much better.

    I have a 7 week old 2019 34 Float Performance Grip that sucks down its travel 20-25mm every single ride. I have to sit on the front tire and press up hard on the bars to get it to equalize the positive and negative chambers so it will extend to normal ride height..... Turns out this is a known issue due to either incompetent assembly with way too much grease fouling the bypass port, or just a bad design - or both..... My 1st and last Fox product.

      @superdux1997 5 років тому

      Yeah, it seems if you are having any issue with Fox forks with the float NA air shaft. The FIRST thing to check is this, remove air shaft , clear of the huge glob of grease, and re apply a sensible amount of slick honey (or other cheaper alternative)

      I called fox about this, when they assembled the air shaft there was to much grease. U need to take out the air shaft inside that stanchion is the air bypass ( it’s small ) use a screw driver with a rag on it to clean the grease out of it and u should be back to normal.
      Dnt use to much grease to reassemble

    There are quite a lot of posts and videos about "clicking sound" from Fox float air champer. Do you have suggestions how to solve that?

    Does the oil insde the air chamber (3cc, according to manual, SC32), goes down throught the bypass hole?

    What keeps that big bottom cylinder from being stuck at the bottom accidentally enlarging the negative air chamber?

    • @Luckshot1761
      @Luckshot1761 3 роки тому

      Bottom cylinder is fixed in the stanchion. Cant move upwards cause the inner diameter above it is smaller.
      Downward movement is stopped by a retaining ring in the stanchion right underneath the bottom cylinder.
      The upper cylinder is fixated at the bottom of the casting.

    Can anyone confirm the difference between the NA and NA2 air shaft? I have a 2017 34 PE, just trying to find out exactly whats inside it, its not the EVOL shaft.

    But if you would lower your fork 's travel than this bypass port won't work will it ?

    • @409nh8
      @409nh8 5 років тому

      No it will work. The airshaft is just shorter so all its doing is pulling the lowers up

    • @roelr7604
      @roelr7604 5 років тому

      @@409nh8 jeah but the shortest shaft you can get is 140mm so if you would want your fork to be 100mm you would need to add some neg plate travel spacers and than the airshaft seal can't reach the bypass I think.

    Fox 34 Performance 2017 presumably. Version 140 mm. Can it be reduced to 130 mm?

    • @davehalliday3217
      @davehalliday3217 3 роки тому

      Yes, you need to buy a 130mm Air shaft. There's a few good videos on how to do this yourself, with a list of tools needed. Check on Fox tech page to get the model fork you have, so you order the correct air shaft.
