We did another unboxing! This time it’s surplus Turkish 8mm Mauser in bandoleers. Super cool stuff that’s already loaded onto stripper clips and ready for the range!
*Turkish Headstamp* 12 o'clock: *T [star over crescent] C* . TC stands for _Turkiye Cumhuriyeti_ ("Turkish Republic"). This formally replaced the Ottoman Empire in 1923. 9 o'clock & 6 o'clock: *7.9 FS* . 7.9 is the 7.9mm / 8mm Mauser cartridge. FS stands for _Fisek_ ("cartridge"). 3 o'clock: 4-digit year. Turkey converted from 7.65mm Belgian Mauser to use 7.9mm Mauser during WW1 due to the large amount of German military aid they received. The standard Ball round is based on the German 7.9mm sS Ball cartridge. They used nickel-plated jackets until 1949, when they started using tombak (gilding metal) jackets.
They were made to be opened and used. Ammo is not considered to be a collector’s item unless it’s absolutely one of a kind, even then it wasn’t manufactured to be looked at.
*Stok:* "Stock"; number of the crate in the shipment. *Kafile:* "Cargo"; number of the shipment. *SanDik:* "Crate". I think the black wavy line on the crate means bandoleers. Turkish 7.9x57mm ammo only comes in Ball, Blank and Dummy. *Fisek:* Cartridge. *Fisek Manevra:* ("Maneuver Cartridge") Blank round. *Fisek Egitim:* ("Training Cartridge") Dummy round. Ammo: 1400 rounds (20 x 70-round bandoleers) per crate. Unit: 7 pocket Bandoleer, 2 x 5-round stripper clips per pocket (70 rounds). Weight: 49 kg. (108 lbs.)
@@weswest3031 It was spotty for a few rounds, then started wrecking things, dented the rollers, and one came off when I took the bolt out. Not sure what the date of the ammo was, but it's a known thing, ig. There's probably Turkish 8mm you can get away with but it's rolling the dice, in my experience.

Ouch it hurts to watch these get opened, but it's cool to see how these old packages are

If you have the only two than you need open it no reason at all.
There’s definitely ammo that is collectors items.
One of my pet peeves is people being "annoyed" at boxes being opened lol

Those stripper clips are great mine were 41
I had 1000 rds of that nice hot rds powerful!
How much for the shipping crate?
No hiss?
You'll have to wait for us to unbox an MRE
@@AZFirearms1 I'll wait, I believe in you!
Nice
Saw, since here, 7.62 x 54 bullet for Sniper Russian
Why open it? You can't shoot Turkish 8mm unless it's from a very sturdy bolt action anyway.
Runs great in a 1919 and a ZB37
@@weswest3031 It blew the rollers off my mg-34 bolt!
My understanding is the gunpowder is broken down and fires too hot.
@@billdanosky Did it run for a while before the issue? The 42 doesn't care for it either. the 08 eats it up. Any idea what year of Mfg it was?
