What's your favorite item from the Burger King menu?
Onion rings
Maybe the long chicken sandwich
It’s the Impossible Whopper.
An eggnormous burrito at 10:30 am is all you need to eat for the whole day, the Alaskan cod sandwich was good also.
I haven't had Burger King in many years so idk
I worked for BK 1987-1989, 1992, 1993-1997. The burger buddies really were very popular. People were angry when they left. The BK Broiler, Whaler, ham & cheese sandwich (off menu all the years I worked there, but still sold), and Italian Chicken Sandwich were all really good. Also, there was a Raspberry Danish in the 1980’s too. It was so good, especially if you went all out and melted several patties of butter and poured them over it. Ahh.. high school metabolism was a thing to treasure and exploit.
My older sister worked at BK back in the '80s when those chicken tenders came out. My friend and I used to bother her at break, trying to pilfer her tenders, lol. Why they removed them from the menu, I'll never know; those things were delicious.
I’m in that “fast food history video” phase
I worked at BK in the mid 80s. We wore those polyester rust colored corduroy uniforms with the plaid. The smell of the restaurant stayed with me when I left for the day.
I was obsessed with the first chicken tenders. They were amazing!!! And the burger buddies were yummy too. Now my autistic son loves chicken fries and has to go to BK, every time we’re in town.
I started at BK in 1987. I got hired very shortly after they changed to the polo shirt uniforms. So glad I didn’t have to wear that! Working the steamer in glasses and on hot days was torture enough. I loved working drive thru though.
Chicken Tenders came out in 1985. I remember the commercial with the "Ain't nothing like the real thing" song
I haven't been to a BK in years. The quality just went to shit.
I used to love the Whoppers, the Original Chicken sandwich, and the Big Fish.
i was there on wed, but they screwed up my order...again.
Talk about went to shit ! The "ORIGINAL" Whopper was the BEST fast food hamburger....PERIOD...now they flat out suck ! They are dry, tasteless, and just plain nasty. The Whaler was the BEST fast food fish sandwich....PERIOD ! They changed it to the Big fish and it was still the same, still good. BUT, somewhere along the way, they managed to screw it up too, and now they flat out suck !
@@meauxjeaux431 all fast food went to shit. None of it taste like it did back in the day! I cant tell you how many times I order fast food and I cant eat it. I don't remember that back in the day . I always wanted more!
@@rondothard1698 Isn't that the truth!. It's not just fast food though, just about every manufactured food items taste different, and NOT for the better either. We won't even get into all the "FUN SIZE" AKA downsized, but higher price bullshit. When was the last time you saw something advertised as NEW AND IMPROVED ? You don't. but if you do, then it's a lie.
Chicken Fries: Am I a joke to you?
For real and they didn’t even mention how they changed the nuggets from crowns to whatever they are now
I want to know what the Burger King menu was the year I was born. I was 9 years old when Burger King came into existence. Hiss boo!
So for $1.08 I could have gotten a whopper, fries, a giant soft drink and a giant milk shake?? Jeez
inflation go brrr
That need to bring back the Italian chicken marinara! Please! I loved that sandwich with onion rings
BKs fries in the early 2000s hit different :(
Burger King appeared in the Northeast in the 1970's, when it bought out my favorite chain, Carroll's Clubburger.
Wow nice information
I loved the BK broiler. Totally forgot about it. It was my go to sandwich while in college and the Air Force. The tacos were a jack in the box copy but with a different sauce.
that little sandwich with the 3 tiny chicken fingers, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise was good, too bad its gone 😭
You forgot the Rodeo burger
You guys didn't mention the crown nuggets :(
This is some very cool history
I was born in the year of the Big King.
2021's new Hand-Breaded Spicy Chicken Sandwich at BK is str8 fire. It's as big and crispy as Popeyes and the sauce they put on it is the best in the biz
They are owned by the same company, surprise
They should bring back the sliders
the Italian chicken sandwich actually came out in the 90s originally. Their was also a cordon bleu chicken sandwich also and they were so good....
Yep, I was a BK restaurant manager then. It came out advertised as part of a trio of new chicken sandwiches: American, Italian, an French. American was different from the “regular” chicken sandwich in that it had tomatoes in addition to the standard lettuce and mayo. French had Swiss cheese added, then the Italian was different from all of them, without mayo or lettuce. It had an oblong-shaped slice of mozzarella and the yummy marinara sauce.
nice
I didn’t know BK was born in Jacksonville. Wasn’t much there in those days
You remember when you could get a milkshake in like 3 different sizes? Well those days are gone forever!
Those chicken tenders were crack. The best thing bk ever had. Can't believe they stopped selling those
They had great flavor. McDonald’s sauces were better but Chicken Tenders were good even without sauce.
They used to have a fish sandwich called the whaler what happened to that. It was better than the fish sandwich they have today.
It was better than ANYBODY had had back then too...it was the best...PERIOD ! They changed the name because IDIOTS were butthurt because it was called the WHALER ! So, they called it the BK Big fish. It was still the same for a while, but....now it sucks big time, just like the current Whoppers do !
@@meauxjeaux431 Yep, I worked there at that time. Someone was trying to sue BK for false advertising as the Whaler had no actual whale meat. Ugh. So, yeah, I worked there when they changed the name but it was the exact same sandwich. I left BK before they ruined the whole thing.
@@michelleb7399 Oh yeah, the big fish was still awesome for some time after that.
A few years ago, I stopped getting whoppers from BK since the bottom bun turned to mush due to its thinness, absorption of grease from the burger, and possibly low fiber in the bread. So I stopped going. But, when traveling to Berlin Germany, I visited a BK restaurant and the Whopper was great with bread that had texture, great taste and remained intact while eating the burger. So, BK is off my list since the bread bun in the USA restaurant can't perform to my liking. Sorry BK. I'm no longer a customer.
A successful item has to be hot and fresh AND fast at the drive-up.
De-clutter the menu. Fast- hot at the DRIVE-THRU. Put the best employs near the drive-up.
Ensure the order is correct. Customer service is remembered, But what the hell do I know?
You also need excellent people in the kitchen. When I worked there, I was great at drive through but not so great in the kitchen. You need people in the kitchen who can quickly read the order, mark the wrapper, and prepare 2-3 sandwiches simultaneously… all in about 30 seconds.
I'm already planning lunch!
Me too lol
Burger King app sucks. I ordered then drove there. 10 minutes later they don't have my order yet. They tell me corporate basically dumped the equipment in their lap. They plugged it got internet showed them how to turn it on and left. Wtf
@@paulsmith9341 smh
Did anyone else laugh a little when the guy on the Burger King Big King commercial said it's just like a Big Mac only it's bigger and tastes better! Maybe it's just me that found that comment a bit funny!
There used to be a rule-of-thumb in the restaurant industry -- the larger the menu, the lower the quality. I think you could make a credible case that fast food of this type from McDonald's of Burger King was better when the menu was limited to hamburgers, French fries, and milkshakes (that weren't just today's whipped powder). Sometimes it doesn't pay to forget your roots.
1959; an excellent year♥️🙏🏻🥰
2 Years old in 2021... Yeah this was the menu 9:50
i wish the fries were better but the cheesey tots are the reason i go
The BK Tacos are alright but Jacks are only .50 cents 🤡🌮💯
Please tell me the "Whaler" wasn't what I think it was...Blubber Burger🚫 02:14 👀
It wasn’t. People sued for false advertising so BK changed the name to “Big Fish.”
@@michelleb7399 why would anyone want it to be a whale sandwich?
@@tidepodpadthai2633 It’s the United States. These people claimed it was “false advertising.” They didn’t want whale. They wanted easy money.
Bring back the french chicken sandwich!!
Do people still go to BK?
There original tenders were the best
Quote “gross” 😅😂
Only thing I saw that improved over time was the video quality
LMAOOOO
Who else is here before this video gets 1,000 views?
Best king
Lol I remember the whaler. The Bk big fish and Mcds filet o fish had nothing on the whaler. Bring back the whaler.
My parents hate Burger King so I haven't been there in a very long time
1980
Quad stacker.
I wish they would bring back the Italian chicken sandwich to canada
what about chicken fries???
Rodeo burger was the best
Ha! Jokes on you. There was no such thing as Burger King when I was born.
I love BK breakfast.
Me too! I just can’t get enough of those French Toast Sticks!
the tots don’t have bacon. only cheese
What about the YUMBO?
The best change BK could make is to go back to making the ORIGINAL Whopper and Whaler.....BK SUCKS NOW !
chicken tenders
Its HJs in Australian not BKs
Crossiwich year! Yummo
Inflation sucks lol.
I liked the lower calorie fries wish they would bring them back
18¢ burger..
I can't eat burgers from Burger King. It's an automatic trip to the emergency room.
It must be something in them that I am allergic to.
