good job on the insights of working here. Sounds like an every day issue anywhere else. Call outs are expected. I know I ran Lowe's ..Harbor Freight.. Hardware stores...Came in from the Marines where we can't call out. Instead you show up and we send you to sick bay. You may come back or get the rest of the day off. I'm applying for Store Manager in the Houston area.
I'm considering applying for a Store Manager role - have prior experience in a fast-paced food environment. If you don't mind sharing - what does a store manager's ideal/expected schedule look like? And how many hours of OT are required? Thank you!
So the ideal schedule is 4-5 days a week with 2 coming from (Fri-Sun) Also for store manager, the required hours is 45 minimum hours a week (5-10 hours of overtime), so 50 max usually if something doesn’t cause you to come in more days. Best of luck!
Well, this being your first fast food job will be pretty difficult because it is one of the more difficult fast food places to work at. Potential Interview Questions: What are your goals? Think about a time you had an issue with a customer and how did you resolve it? Think about a time you had a disagreement with a co-worker and how did you resolve it? Why did you leave your past job? Why did you choose Panda Express? What do you like to do in your free-time?
Good video bro! I’m an external hire for Store Manager and start next Thursday, never been in food industry so I’m looking forward to it. Was a general manager at health clubs prior, any advice before I dive in? Much appreciated boss!
Thank you so much, I really do appreciate that. As far as advice goes: - Problems will come, especially within the food industry, and you’ll be faced with very problematic situation, but just think win-win. Fix whatever the customer’s issue is and move on to the next customer as soon as possible. - Schedule extra on Saturday (inventory count day) and Friday (always busy) because people will CALLOUT, so be aware of that and be as proactive as you can about that. - The job will be pretty stressful when you start off, but remember to take a deep breath and be grateful for the opportunities you have in life to have a peace of mind. Best of Luck!
@@n.8910 After my training I quit and decided it wasn’t for me. It’s a Chinese company so their teachings were very communist. They want you to talk like them act like them and will have learning 6 modules and reading books where you have to memorize everything, very very in depth and will ask you why on everything then when you answer ask you another why until their isn’t any answer left, you will then have to go to landmark where they try and beat you down emotionally and try to find and dig stuff about your past that just isn’t there. I’m not trying to discourage anyone and for a lot of people it works when you have the communist mindset however it just wasn’t for me.
Ofc! Also, I believe you have a high chance based on how your interview goes and if your previous job experience relates to PX. Also, it also has to do with your availability and if they’re short staffed as well
@@carolinafranco190 yes they are, but you have to work there for atleast a few months first to build your reputation and have a valid reason for doing so
It just depends on what position you apply for, let them know you prefer kitchen help. Also, the positions are unisex, you’ll see both genders in either position
The hardest part is being expected to do everything the General Manager does and depending on your GM, they may even have you do more of the manual labor (deep cleaning), rather than themselves. So if you go for AM, go for GM as well.
The evening shift is also hard, cleaning the fryer, grill, kitchen hood and dishes😂😂
Who you telling ??? I’m in a closing shift rn
Thank you Anbu, for sharing the video
@@Twistedterminal1 you’re welcome! Thank you for watching

@@anbupan Thank you! - I have submitted applications and got virtual interview invites and a few open interviews at different sites.
I’m thinking of applying but what is the turn over rate like? How long do employees last?
How flexible is the schedule? Like taking a week off, or 1/2 days off a month in advance
This is why I love this job, it’s extremely flexible, you can request off, but 3 weeks ahead of time
@@anbupan3 weeks is a long time, 2 weeks in advance is the standard
What are some interview questions to prepare for? Also, i have never worked in fast food
