    Complements 1st:
    That was the MOST fishing information crammed into the shortest clip I've EVER watched !
    I only want to slow troll a 1/2 oz bucktail while drinking coffee for a few hours after dawn on oil slick water a few miles off Miami.
    If I catch nothing? No big deal.... I know how to blister the fish inshore.
    After watching your clip, I feel confident.
    I tapped the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters and subbed.
    Thanks

    Good job … comprehensive overview! Fished the keys from cradle to ytd (I am in early 50s) and it’s exactly how you described it! The inexpensive lures many times over catch the most fish and live pilchards almost always get the job done! Thx.

      100% I catch more off a bucktail to start then transition to live pilchards

    Great video, just subscribed. On the octopus skirts, what is the make/model of the clear plastic head you’re using?

      Thanks brotha! I usually use a 4in black and purple squid rig. I think they are made by Boone

    I forgot to ask earlier, what size leader would you recommend on that spinning outfit. Your channel is great. I like getting info from someone who actually lives what they are talking about.

      I usually do 40lb mono. Honestly Mahi are so predatory they are not going to shy away from a leader. The only time ive run into them when they wont eat is on artificial or chunks. Live pilchards is the way to go . Thanks! Putting out a solid mahi video this weekend as well! Appreciate the support

    Is that a 4000 reel? You use just spinning reels not bigger trolling? Would frozen squid work for bait? Or live is best?
    Great video thanks.

    • @liquidambition
      @liquidambition  Рік тому

      6500 size reel. I use 8500 of kk throwing a squid skirt to troll. That’s all you need for mahi. Live baits best if you have it. Pilchards

      @@liquidambition ive been dying to catch my first mahi on my 13 whaler. Took it to the isla humps on 11/5 and got smacked by a few a wahoo and missed them. Gotta swap to better hooks. Check that vid out if you wanna see a local with heavy balls

    What weight Bucktail jig do you use? Is that a 2oz or 1 oz?

    Do you ever use all three lives wells on that beautiful conch 30? Been meaning to ask … you notice any pros/cons with that euro style transom than the traditional closed transom bracket? I.e. reach to water for yellow-tailing etc?

    • @liquidambition
      @liquidambition  3 роки тому +1

      Honestly 1-2. I’m usually fishing solo so I don’t need an over abundance of bait. . The euro transom is nice I think it’s all around better for just running surface over anything else. The low gunnels help for reach

    Hey Jason, Im a Canadian recently bought house and boat near West Palm. New to the Mahi fishing but lots of experience up north. Any interest in coming up to West Palm for the day and showing me the ropes on my own boat? Ill pay you well and if all works out you can come to my backyard and Ill show you some Salmon, Pike, Walleye fishing in Canada. If you give me an email we can discuss.

    I have heard you say before state water and federal waters. When catching Dolphin you can catch 10. You have said something indicating you can catch more than 10. What is the difference between the two of them. How far out do you have to be to catch more Dolphin. Thank you for your videos.

      Federal allows limits up to 10 . I believe it’s 5 miles off the coast. So if you catch more than state limits I would just come back to the dock after. If you fish state waters and FWC comes up to you you could face the fines in state water
