I've seen over 20 videos about trolling on UA-cam all the way up to big professionals. Gotta say your video was the easy clearest one on explaining on how to troll. Great job
Thank you for your post. You made it very easy to understand. I feel more comfortable now to get into deep sea fishing. Thank you again for the information
Awesome Information, I fish down in Zihautanejo and this past February NO one caught a legal Marlin to win the prize so the Mahi leader won. I use Halcos for the Tuna and Daisy chains with Google or needle fish. Siempre Fiel!!!
Thanks, what an awesome tutorial, what a great speaking voice also. I’ll put it to the test this weekend. I live on Florida’s Gulf Coast, and Kings, Black-fin tuna, and maybe even Mahi Mahi are all out there, near shore, this time of year October/November ,…
GRACIAS AMIGO!!!
Gracias Nuevamente
i do not know if anyone told you this, but man you really look similar to Markos Vidalis, like, the shape of head, the shape of face, the same, wow. If you would shave bald, you would be identical. Funny thing, he is best european fishing youtuber, amazing like you. Great video ! Greetings from Croatia !
Hi very informative video, Thanks. Can you comment on the speed (range) of the boat when trolling your spread. Any suggestions regarding changing speeds ?
I'll always be running my boat between 6 to 10 mph while doing this kind of fishing, Mahis, Tunas, Kingfish and so on can swim a lot faster than that so it will never be a problem for them to get to those lures whenever they want. About depth here in South Florida I wont bother to stop for any reason before reaching the 1000 feet depth. from there to 2000 feet is a good range, sometimes I'll be out 20 mines from shore... if it doesn't look good I'll keep going east until I change my mind, see a bird, grass or objects on the surface, there I'll always start running south against the current and 90% of the time I find them. Thanks for the support. I'm glad liked the video!
Question for ya: I'm going sailing in Antigua next week and am bringing a couple of trolling rods to target mahi mahi. I have a couple Rapalas (dive to 30') and also some 8" squid skirts that I intend to run. Can you please advise on how you run squid skirts? Do you typically have them skipping along near the surface or are they further down? I have equipment (dipsy divers) that could target lower depths if recommended. Thanks I'm advance. Peter
Give this method a try... I never got a tangle like this... you can almost drive in figure eights and you wont get tangle. Colors on the lures I’ll say white and blue for mahis but is tough... some times they like that and some other times they wont go for it... but white and blue are GOOD place to start!
First, I just found your channel and THANK YOU. Second, I want to make sure I'm understanding- you're putting your feather out first- just one, 250 yards out. Then, with your islanders and plugs, you're putting a pair of each out - one on each side of the boat and then one Rapala close to the boat for a total of 6, is that correct?
Great video. Bout to buy me a boat. Will be fishing off North Carolina. I have fished for years but never had my own boat. Have my eye on a 239 sea hunt ultra. Cant wait.
You mentioned a Kayak at the end of your video. How would you go with the spread if you are doing it from a fishing Kayak (Hobie ....) ? Which Lures since for sure it is going to be very difficult to have 6 rods going at the same time in a Kayak :) Thx in advance.
Nice boat man, love Hobies. In a kayak you can do 2 rods and as lure I'll recommend Rapalas on both, you can get Rapala lures that swim at different depths and with your Hobie it shouldn't be a problem. When I go out in my paddle board I'll be always pulling two Rapalas every time I move from spots.
This video is so Informative! Well done.. A question i have please is this.. I only have a 13 foot boat so i try to boost up as much as i can. If u use a top water rapala or even deep diver, can i use a couple of small teasers with that or do i ruin the way it swims?
Man with a 43er you can do a lot of stuff! But if you are only starting on trolling start with the same 6 rods layout I explained here... That will give you fish and time to learn and get better on it. Once you know what to do you can have a nice 12 rods setup with outrigger behind your boat and be a killer!! Go to 1500 feet and start looking for grass, birds or anything else on the water and once you find it troll around it up and down for a while, you’ll catch some fish for sure!
Thank you for this great video. We all learn from each other I always troll 5 rods but I'm going to try the rapala also and the bullet. Keep up the good work I run a 30ft Grady white in key largo the bite has been very good.
Can I only troll one line from a sailboat? We travel 6 kts. Or should I get a second reel and place it too? Which bait and line would you suggest for only one? I sail south Fl.
Coño tremendo video , My first time seeing your video, First of all Muchas Gracias Brother!!! Thank you very much for sharing this information, I will be Kayak Fishing here on the Texas Coast, I will have at least two rods for Lures and one for perhaps live bait or lure as well for this set up would you recommend a Feather or two, and one Islander,, also what LB of Mono are you using to tie the lure? your thoughts are appreciated Salty.
Gracias brother! It will all depend of what you are targeting, if you are going for kingfish I'll go with the live bait and the rapalas, if you are looking for tuna then the feathers will work, dark colors, tuna love feathers, and if looking for mahi then the bullets are awesome as well as the feathers... The other thing you can do is to mix it up a little bit and if nothing happen for some time be ready to change and improvise. Thanks for the support and kind words!
Salty Tales it will be mostly Kings and Dorado or Mahi, Tunas are too far out , I can get 4-5 miles at most in about 65 feet of water the Texas Coast flat but some small platform rigs are within 3-5 mile range
Nice man! At that range we target kings and sometimes tuna comes down shallow too... Mahis are more difficult to find at that range here. So start trolling with live bait and rapalas, those are great for kings, also remember that kings go deeper as the day progress, early in the morning they will be at top water and going deeper and at about 10 AM they'll be biting at 20 to 40 ft down. Please send me a photo on FB!
Great instructional video! Some say how to, then just show them catching a bunch of fish with NO details! Thank you. If you had to use one rod only, what would you use?..... for a lure that is
Hey Ninja, I just discovered your channel couple of days ago. Good stuff. Congrats!! I was having a debate with a friend about your heritage roots. My position was that you are Brazilian, is that correct? Thanks and keep up these great videos.
Can you recommend a good boat ramp near Hillsboro Inlet that allows overnight parking Hillsborough Inlet they say is very Danger was trying to avoid that one or even south of Hillsboro Inlet would be good
I just didn't have my others rod on board that day and we were seeing a lot of birds and action in general. No specific reason at all. If you are out there be ready to adjust and improvise as needed! Thanks for the questions and support!
Agree with Jian's comment, use a mono 20ft to 30 ft shot/leader and attach it to the braid, using a "FG" knot. Match the leader test/strenght according to the type of fish you're going after... best of luck.
In this video I used the 7 inches one but I ‘ll change it if needed. I’ll recomended at least 2 of then one that swims at 30 to 40 ft deep and another one that swims at 15 to 20 ft. If one doesn’t work you can switch them and try different configurations. Thanks for the support!
OK , so on sunday im going fishing and i have no clue how to do a proper trolling spread . here is what i have : 3 rods ,. 1 rapala magnum , 1 daisy chaing ( pink and white) , 1 cedar plug ( natural color) , 1 regular spoon and a Yo-Zuri Sashimi 3D Squirt Lure, Chameleon Natural Glow, 7 1/2-Inch. what am i supposed to do with that? looking for mahi and tunna

Unfortunately everyone can have and drive a boat without any knowledge required and that create all these googans we see avery day around... Nothing can be done but getting away from them as much as you possibly can... sorry 😐
Finally, a clear and simple explenation. I have been searching for days! Thank you!

This is exactly what you are supposed to do. DON"T BE GIVING OUT ALL THE SECRETS!!!!!!!! Great explanation.

Incredibly informative! Great job
Very cool and knowledgeable thanks Ninja keep it up man.
Thank you Cory!!! Glad you liked it!
Awesome information. I am ready for trolling.
Yoooooo.... This isn't a cooking video lol awesome
That is a big spread! Any preferences on colors? I’m with Guga - two/three lines is manageable... any more for me and its a tangle dance.
Give this method a try... I never got a tangle like this... you can almost drive in figure eights and you wont get tangle. That is 100% correct! Thanks for the support!

Thanks brother! I wasn’t expecting it to come out so good!
Great video. Bout to buy me a boat. Will be fishing off North Carolina. I have fished for years but never had my own boat. Have my eye on a 239 sea hunt ultra. Cant wait.
Ninja love you too man. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again
Great information. Saving for future reference. Thank You
Thank you for watching!
Thank for explaining to a newbee. I will start with three rods to begin with though.
You mentioned a Kayak at the end of your video. How would you go with the spread if you are doing it from a fishing Kayak (Hobie ....) ? Which Lures since for sure it is going to be very difficult to have 6 rods going at the same time in a Kayak :) Thx in advance.

Thanks that is what I thought, always but good to have validation from an experienced fisherman. Thx
what is that organizer for the lures called? And where did you get it? Thank you!
Ninja you ABSOLUTELY need to make a video about Marlin fishing!!!!
Hahhahaha yeah man. If people want to know I’ll tell all I know!
This video is so Informative! Well done.. A question i have please is this.. I only have a 13 foot boat so i try to boost up as much as i can. If u use a top water rapala or even deep diver, can i use a couple of small teasers with that or do i ruin the way it swims?
Great video! What is the best color for Rapala? I’ll be in the Keys trolling and looking at 25 Rapala in blue/silver. Any suggestions? Thank you!!
Awesome video as always, thanks for sharing
Thanks Marshall! Still waiting for my shout out man!! 😄🤜
Salty Tales Its coming bro, thanks for your support
Cool brother!!
I have a 43 ft POST so what type of set do you recommend? I am new at this so any advise would be great.
Keep up the good work I run a 30ft Grady white in key largo the bite has been very good.
great video. to the point and with lots of info.
Awesome video!!! And your hair looks like your the Cuban Superman.

Glad you liked it brother!! Thanks for the support!
Can I only troll one line from a sailboat? We travel 6 kts. Or should I get a second reel and place it too? Which bait and line would you suggest for only one? I sail south Fl.

Man these videos were the best
I am going to take my first shot at it in the coming weeks....what should my trolling speed be?
Wow, awesome breakdown!
Thanks brother!
Good video my friend. How ,any miles into the gulf do you recommend and what depth?
Thank you for the advice sir! Peace
No problem brother!
Do you recommend a star or lever drag for this type of trolling?
I enjoyed the video. Good information.
Great video! Wanted to ask you what size and weight is that rapala magnum?
Coño tremendo video , My first time seeing your video, First of all Muchas Gracias Brother!!! Good luck brother and thanks for all the support!
Diagram of your boat was very helpful!
Glad it helped!
Great instructional video! Some say how to, then just show them catching a bunch of fish with NO details! Thank you.
If you had to use one rod only, what would you use?..... for a lure that is
Do you use planers for any of those lures?
No for that kind of trolling...
Hey Ninja, I just discovered your channel couple of days ago. Good stuff. Congrats!!
I was having a debate with a friend about your heritage roots. My position was that you are Brazilian, is that correct?

Can you recommend a good boat ramp near Hillsboro Inlet that allows overnight parking Hillsborough Inlet they say is very Danger was trying to avoid that one or even south of Hillsboro Inlet would be good
I would like to know ,florocarbon line can it withstand king fish bites, i normally use wire leaders can you tell me pros and cons
Wow awesome gear sir
Awesome video and great tutorial! Do you not use outriggers? You just got another subscriber:)
Why do you have a a spinning rod on a bait casting reel? Is there a reason for this, id think I’d be very uncomfortable to handle
I just didn't have my others rod on board that day and we were seeing a lot of birds and action in general. No specific reason at all. If you are out there be ready to adjust and improvise as needed! Thanks for the questions and support!
Buen video. Gracias.
Great video! Do you use any added weight to any of the lures when trolling?
This guy really gives me the feeling that he knows what he's talking about.
How many pound leader do you use for the islander?
may be a stupid question, do you ever put a bobber on your line ?
Thank for the info, I’m new at this!
Is 500 yard 50 lb braid good enough for the rapala plugs I only have penn 20 rival combos ??
Definitely good enough!
Offshore guys like to run at least a mono shot for its stretch
Agree with Jian's comment, use a mono 20ft to 30 ft shot/leader and attach it to the braid, using a "FG" knot. Match the leader test/strenght according to the type of fish you're going after... best of luck.
Hi how far the lure should behind the kayak when I trolling
Nice explanation sir thanks ..
Thank you so much!
What kind of line and what pound test do your recommend using for this trolling?
Great video brother !
What are the sizes of the Rapala magnums you have in this video
In this video I used the 7 inches one but I ‘ll change it if needed. I’ll recomended at least 2 of then one that swims at 30 to 40 ft deep and another one that swims at 15 to 20 ft. If one doesn’t work you can switch them and try different configurations. Thanks for the support!
Awesome video thanks 🙏
Excellent information
