Great informative video. Didn’t feel like a waste of time. Detailed, not boring, well planned out and useful. Better by far then majority of stuff out there. Lee them coming like this.
Great video. I have a question I like to rig my lures with just a bit of hook showing at the end of the skirt and I also like the hooks to swing nice and free. Do you like your hook completely hidden? My friend rigs his with gear that sets the hook more stiff and he says it keeps it from getting knocked out of the way and missed more by the Mahi when it first strikes. Curious your thoughts or other guys out there on this? Thanks.
The purpose of the wind-on leader is to provide extra protection boat side when the fish gets close. The "wind-on" allows that extra protection without winding any hardware or swivels through the rod tip and guides. Thanks for asking!

After watching this video, I thought I would look up a fishing expedition with Captain Scott Walker. However, when I went on the web and did some review background on him it appears he charges an exorbitant amount of money to begin with and then expects an additional amount of money and tips because he’s a “ celebrity“. Even if it WAS only a vacationing family that doesn’t take fishing seriously, I can see where the celebrity attitude was probably there. Not the attitude I want from a professional on an expensive fishing trip with a bunch of my deep pocket buddies. Going elsewhere.

@@WestMarineInc Thank you for your response - however - what I was looking for (and what others are probably looking for) is a response clearly indicating that West Marine's culture and corporate policy is to NOT support this kind of "celebrity" mentality. Humility is the great teacher/equalizer. If someone chooses to eek out a living rigging and trolling ballyhoo for charters, that's one thing. A tip might be in order - but someone conveying a celebrity lifestyle on a million-dollar center console probably doesn't need tips to supplant their lifestyle. So why expect tips?
One of the best videos i have seen on YT

What is the purpose of the wind on? How much 80lb floro before the tie on main line?

This may be the dumbest question, but where is the hook in all these baits?
It's generally at the end of the fishing line. If you look closely you can see his finished lines and see where the hooks are.
I asked the same thing
This guy is know his stuff so well
He does indeed - thanks for the feedback!
