As a kid, I was only able to play BN 1, 5, and 6, so I'm enjoying my time with BN2 on the Legacy Collection. Except for FreezeMan's scenario, that bit can screw right off. If this game ever gets remade or something they should cut it entirely and give FreezeMan his own dungeon or something
3 is the best game mechanics wise but 2 has the most heart and set the feel for the rest of the series. My favorite game series. Getting hub style was so fun.
22:50 Speaking of BN4, I just beat BM in the Legacy collection. Had BusterMAX on the entire time, guides open for the tournament pre-battle quests, only beat it once, and never going back....
No one blames you. I'm about to return to the series VERY soon, right after I drop my next video. (Gravity Circuit.) And I'ma tell ya right now...in order to show everything off in BN4, I will need to beat the game at least...hmmm...12 times. Two versions, 3 playthroughs, show off all the exclusive content between those games....Oh god...Upon realizing this, I am going to have to drop some videos in between. This will be a LONG project.
9:35 now i could swear you can manipulate (not majorly but minorly) the element side by using chips with that element i seem to always get elec style first since i love abusing those chips you get from the bunny virus and i never get wood style since it's hard getting chips of that type at that point of the game i just might be lucky then if that isn't the case lol
Trust me, it's random. I tried my hardest to get FIre in every run and spammed flame elemental chips forever. Somehow I got wood, Elect, AND Aqua in all of my attempts, but NEVER fire. I only got it when I wasn't trying. Go figure. DX
@@2elusivereviews funny in all my time playing the game i NEVER gotten' aqua and only got wood once, i always get elec and sometimes fire, this game is silly lol
YES!!!!! Also expect a whole Ape Escape marathon somewhere down the road. That is the game series that got me hooked on Playstation, and I will give the games it's flowers.
Oh, I'm prone to getting the Custom style when I play Battle Network 2. Because I love abusing program advances. Especially the ridiculously broken "Gater" program advance. "2xHero" is a close second.
i just replyaed this and only figured out you could run shortly before finishing. I assumed it wasnt in this game considered the escape chip still being a thing
Freezeman sucks, but his scenario is overblown as far as how annoying it is. I usually power through it and enjoy the rest of the game. In my opinion BN2 is the best game in the series. BN3 was my first game and I love it to pieces, but being able to have more than one style, trade said styles, go to the airport, have a villain with a legitimate redemption arc put 2 over the top for me. Not to mention all the QoL features it had over the first game that, sadly, were never really expanded upon in later titles - just copy pasted from this game.
I do agree 100% about the Freezeman scenario being overblown, as it's not the most annoying thing out of the entire series. Just only in BN2. In fact, 3 does the exact same run around Freezeman does, but the only reason why it's not nearly as noticeable is because it's broken up into two chapters, rather than having it all in one go. (Basically, I'm referring to the Flameman Arc and the Drill Man Arc...they happen back to back, and what are you doing in both? Running all over the network and doing a huge scavenger hunt.)
Really it's mostly just the FreezeMan scenario, the rest is tolerable. While I do love these games, the one thing I'm glad to leave in the past is the need to artificially pad out a game's runtime with tiresome busywork. Especially if it's just running around the world map doing fetch quests.
Very solid retrospective. Definitely has me pumped for the legacy collection
I am HYPE for that collection. Already preordered and ready to go too!

Posted this before I got to the part of the video where you said the same thing, glad to see everyone is in agreement about Freeze Boi
I'm so excited to play through 2 again. I have such fond memories of earning Hub Style and getting the stars on the title screen
That is awesome!!! Congratulations!!!! It always feels good when you play your favourite games and get all trophies and things!
@@yuukikuran9029 it really is! I hope you enjoy the collection as well! Hopefully we run into each other at some point!
@@thedoctor2099 Oh you'll definitely see me on there :D
2 was the first one I received back in school so I have good memories of it.

The music in the WWW secret area is so good too!
Yes it is! 2's OST is such a good bop~

Gotta pop in the comments to show appreciation for the custom robo music 😢
I knew someone would catch that. Good looking out :D

Can we take a moment to appreciate the Higsby dance at the end of the video? The dude has moves!
Yes he does! XD
I can hear that you used music from Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed. More people need to know of the greatest party game of all time.

I'm addicted to 2xHero. I've used and abused that PA in every version it's in.

The backtracking is too much in this game. I almost skipped it for 3, but i want to enjoy the undernet, since i remember liking it so much.

Nah, you can rejoice to still have that one racist grandma in the Legacy Collection.
I saw, and I rejoiced indeed lmao
