You are so right. If your partner don't want to level up and grow as well after you guys have talked on it, then you're going to stagnate your self from brighter days staying with them. At the end of the day, you can't make no one do what they don't want to do and don't try to make them do what they don't want to do...just move on and take wisdom with you!

This is my EXACT story. I met my ex-husband at 24. I was in college at the time when we met. I outgrew him. He didn't follow. And that's why we are now divorced. If men are reading this, don't be stubborn and do the work. My ex came back a few years after divorce apologizing and telling me that if he could go back he would've done things better and would have given 100% of himself in the relationship. Don't make that same mistake and regret it later.

    • @ochacal7794

This mentality is crazy: when a person is 25 yo she is not the same as when she was 18, when she is 30 is not the same as she was at 25... a 50 yo is not the same person she was when she was 35 or 40... so if the reason for not marry young is that you are evolving and becoming another person, this will happen through your entire life.

This is so true…people can change so much during a marriage particularly if the woman has leveled up. Dealing with the insecurities is hard as is the increased stress and resentment. It’s no wonder that many women who experience this simply ‘check out’

    • @truckywuckyuwu
      @truckywuckyuwu Рік тому +6

You don't enter a marriage attempting to follow different life paths or goals. That's the huge flaw with your argument right there.
If you're pursuing something to 'level up', you never should've been in the marriage to begin with. You enter a marriage to find a common goal, or dream, and work towards it together, you support eachother. You compromise, you give up wants for the long-term benefits of the relationship. You learn to be okay with being unhappy, as that's what life is. Ebbs and flows of happiness and unhappiness, and in doing so, you find contentment, peace. Even more happiness. You put the marriage first, and desires and selfishness second. Foundation for a strong marriage right there that will last 50 years.
Something like 80% of divorces are initiated by women these days. That is an absurdly high number. Half the reason is that women are incentivized to leave relationships. Alimony, divorce settlements, child support from the government. The other half is that people these days are being taught to follow selfish desires rather than investing in the people in their lives.
True happiness comes not from self-serving goals, it comes from altruism, it comes from helping other people in your life. When you dedicate your energy into investing into the relationship, working through problems. It will thrive.
When you sit there thinking about how you want to do your own thing. You've already stopped giving the relationship what it needs, and it's no surprise it fails.
If you want to pursue selfish goals in life, don't get married. It's that simple. People need to stop getting married thinking that happiness or lovey dovey feelings will last, using the marriage as a way to feel happy. That's not what it's about at all. You will never be happy in a marriage unless you actually commit to that marriage.
If you're considering getting married to someone. Talk about what kind of life you want TOGETHER. Then aim for that, work at it. Don't get married till you have this talk, and don't get married because you're happy in the moment.

Marriage is about the two of you. You don't get married for feelings you get married to foster a life long partnership. You don't get married and then pursue selfish goals. You don't get divorced in a marriage because of a rough patch, or boredom.
People are sitting here condoning divorce because of feelings, when true love isn't built on that at all. Feelings of infatuation, butterflies. Those will come and go. They are not a sound basis for a marriage, and if you're getting divorced because your feelings change, you never should've been married in the first place.
Marriage fails because of selfishness. Put the marriage first, then yourself second. Work through your problems, find a path together. Don't just get married because someone currently makes you wet and happy. That's not what a marriage is about at all. There are years in life where happiness is hard to come by. You'll never be in a fulfilling relationship if that's what you're looking for from your partner.

Nowadays we need to be into growth if we want to be in a relationship. Also, relationships come and go, they work until our soul receives what it needs from it, learning, healing, etc. That's why we have multiple ones in a lifetime. We need to be mature and secure enough to allow others to grow and choose to grow with them. It must be a mutual desire and understanding.

Great powerful presentation! Wow... Unfortunately, we are not taught that a couple's individual Vision of a marriage/committed relationship may become the Huge breaking point. No One teaches us this, in advance. As fragile, fantasy-based, and hidden as that expansive 'ideal love' walking-on-air (for many) vision is ~ it could manifest itself down the road as shocking and sorrowful quicksand. Early love coming together is the crucial time to do the revealing work, first. Peeling back the layers of "idealness" with plenty of "What ifs" is not very romantic, but it's ground-building for healthy boundaries. And even then, who's to predict how life lessons (and especially opportunities) skews our vision along the way of life's path? I don't know about you, but that's asking quite a lot of necessary 'what-if's' of the initial mere, yet extremely-powerful, romantic attraction. True, honorable love of oneself and (equally of) one's beloved is an admirable quest ~ and not for the faint-of-heart.

The thing I'm seeing in common on all of these people talking about their divorces, is how selfish they turned at one point. Instead of investing into the relationship, communicating, finding a path to take together. One partner takes a path they want, and leaves the other behind.
This is why one person is the leader in the relationship, and one the follower. It doesn't work when both people are going after selfish goals.

People have to grow together, especially if you’re in a marriage/committed relationship . If you don’t, you outgrow one another. If you’re truly in love then you would be growing as a unit. You would never have outgrown one another. Everybody has free will to do what they need to do. And that is yours and only your choice to make. Society as a whole myself included need to look at your their own life. If your life was so perfect, you wouldn’t be looking at a video like that and if you do that, which is your free will you don’t have to pass judgment. Look up to God for judgment in your own life before passing it on to another. Show grace to another in all matters and you will be rewarded. God matters to me. Amen.

The problem is sometimes both genders want to be chased by everybody and be attractive for everybody.
    Their wishes came true.
They are attractive for everybody and chased by everybody.
Except for the one they have the love, empathy and gratitude for.
they give the energy out to the world, instead of going inward and changing their mindset.
Their mindset should be I want to be attractive to one person and be attracted to one person who is compatible fo me.

So he was good enough to be the bread winner and support her and when she got her own all of sudden she’s got a change of heart!? Please she want to go get some more out there. These women watched too much Sex in the City!
Don’t get married if you have no desire to do life together! Kids 10 years old in other countries with more emotional intelligence and strength than these people today. Especially in the states.

No he just didn’t grow with her. Men get comfortable and think they know everything, their women can’t do more than them they have to settle for unhappiness and dim their light for the men but men won’t sacrifice nothing for them. My ex husband says the same about me and now his ex girlfriend and he didn’t make either of us better. We left him to get better. With some men the math ain’t mathing
