    I love that you talk about not wearing sunscreen! I'm a red head and spent my whole childhood burning to a crisp even with SPF 50. Then I moved to Florida for a couple of years in my early 20s and cleaned up my diet, and I've been tanning without sunscreen ever since. I've had one sunburn in nearly 20 years.

      It's a good idea to wear sunscreen even if you don't burn. If not you are at higher risk of skin cancer. Yes sun is natural but global warming and pollution have made the ozone layer too thin and we weren't meant to have this much exposure to UV rays 🙏

    Thank you for this video. I particularly like the way you present things, your tone. You are presenting information that might be of interest or be relevant to others, in part or as a whole. You are not selling or pushing your truth as being the truth everyone has to follow to become this or that, as one can too often see "guru's", 'therapists", "healers"do. So thank you for that. That makes you believable and credible. Cheers.

    This is inspiring. I do a lot of these, but certainly have room for improvement. I can attest that stopping the use of chemical toxins in your cleaning products and self-care products seems to have more effect than you'd think. Thank you for giving credence to the idea of "detox." A lot of "experts" act like anything related to detoxing is a scam right out of the gate without even considering what it might do for a person.

    Thank you for sharing these! I know a lot of work goes into this. I’ve been recovering from toxin based illnesses beginning with breast implants, mold toxicity, and now acute and chronic Lyme infections.
    I’ve been detoxing for about 6 or 7 years, and eating and drinking cleanly since I found out about breast implant illness and beyond.
    My holistic dentist told me about zeolite, and that it was better than the binders I was taking.
    I have a broken shoulder that is not getting correct blood flow and isn’t healing properly, probably due to Lyme, so I’m working on that.
    I do have extreme stress in my own home at 68 years old, because my ex and adult son have moved in for the past 2 1/2 years. My son is disrespectful and lazy (brain trauma and disabled but narcissistic).
    It’s killing me, but a lot if these things I need, are too expensive because of out of pocket m ducal expenses.
    I am going to get the zeolite, and since it’s summer, spend more time outside!
    Again, many TVs k for your wide variety of information❣️

    Hi Irene, I noticed that you've shared at least a couple of clips from Teal Swan on your IG. Idk how long you've been following her, but I have to say she is really one of the worse people you could be following and sharing stuff from. I started following her early in her youtube career around 2011 and then as time went on more and more people who were either closely connected to her, worked with her or just followed her stuff have come out with how abusive and manipulative she is and how harmful a lot of her "teachings" are (not to mention she plagiarizes and bastardizes spiritual teachings). That's not to say that it's all bad, but it's not hers and she's not who she professes to be. I remember on the first version of her website she had a bio that said she was sent here by some alien race to help humanity. As she her following grew, she got rid of that obviously so she could be more mainstream. I have to comment this because I always perceived you as a serious scientifically based practitioner, so I was surprised to see her stuff on your page. I'm into new age stuff though somewhat, but I'm just not hardcore about it anymore after the whole thing with Teal and learning how much abuse there is in spiritual communities.

    A lot of these suggestions are great but for those of us who are not rich, it's not feasible to have a professional work on everything. This is one of the most frustrating things when people need help inside and out ... But their income doesn't support 100k + of self care/counseling

    • @ethereallioness
      @ethereallioness 2 роки тому +8

      And i think it's low-income people who need it the most. Financial stress on top of all the developmental trauma and other stuff we've experienced or are currently experiencing is just adding (a whole lot more) fuel to the fire. I've kind of just thrown my hands up after years of being on a healing journey.

    • @ethereallioness
      @ethereallioness 2 роки тому +4

      And it's not just lack of income but often lack of time if you have to work lots of hours and don't even get a full night's rest most nights just trying to make ends meet.

      @grm3967 2 роки тому +5

      @@ethereallioness exactly. I can relate on so many levels. It is the people who have all the extra stress that need it the most, you're right! Unfortunately, the mental health community has become a get rich program and there isn't much available for those of us who do not make as much. My husband and I are both in public service and have great insurance. It's still too expensive! And I have found the sliding scale is not really much of a savings. I guess only the rich get to experience mental and self care, sadly

    Thank you for this video! It's really hard to find good information out there on what's good for us humans amongst all the toxicity.
    A couple follow up questions:
    1. Related to the SE work, are there any things you would prioritize doing before/during SE work? That would make the SE work stick? [for instance, I am sensing food, exercise, relationships, job to be priority over some of the other things mentioned]
    2. Can you explain why it's necessary to take added supplements/detox measures when humans naturally never needed to do this?
    3. You spoke on food but I would be interested to hear your approach to the meat/egg industry? Obviously organic is important here too but do you also consider factors such as : livelihood, their food consumption, etc? Or are you meat-free?

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  2 роки тому +4

      Hi Liz. No problem. Here's some quick answers:
      1 - My suggestion is to start building practical foundations and learning the basics of nervous system theory prior to investing in a SE practitioner. Mainly because, it'll save time when you are in person with someone whom you are paying per hour. I say this from professional experience. I put my private practice on hold indefinitely to educate folks online and via my programs as it is was clear how much foundational work aided private work. My SE colleagues have mentioned that working with folks who have done some groundwork first, are much easier to work with as they can dive right into the work. (My 21-Day Nervous System Tune-Up is what I'd recommend as a starting point: 21daytuneup.com/ )
      2 - I will dive into this a bit more when I release my interview with Eddie Stone on Sept 6. In a nutshell though: we are living with manmade toxic chemicals that are not processed and excreted easily by the human system, therefore, I've come to realize that we need a little extra to get this stuff out.
      3 - I'm an omnivore, and eat all foods, all animal foods, dairy, veggies, etc. My husband and I, buy our animal protein from local farms practicing sustainable practices. I'm a big believer in permaculture, and getting back to the old school ways of farming. We've got a long way to go, but I'm seeing more interest in this these days. I found this documentary interesting: ua-cam.com/video/eedW-RcCnDg/v-deo.html
      Take care, Irene.

    • @Gerhold102
      @Gerhold102 2 роки тому +5

      Hi, I know your question is addressed to Irene, but I felt that this healing work which she talks about is in addition to the somatic work.
      This makes complete sense, as diet, exercise, cell detoxification and biome optimisation are all going to lead to a general improvement in health and are mutually reinforcing.
      I believe that we, in particular Westerners, are indoctrinated into ignoring our bodies and resorting to drugs and other 'cover-ups' to hide the effects of living in toxic and stressed environments. We're taught to adapt to what is an inimical lifestyle (most of us, that is), where we surround ourselves with no end of consumer electric and electronic devices disruptive to the subtle energy system of the body and use poisoning forms of transport to convey ourselves to and from stressful and toxic places of work.
      Countering these anti-life forces requires focus and discipline and challenging 'normality' - qualities which are difficult to generate when ones body is in survival mode.
      I think it's about establishing good patterns in all areas of ones life. This takes patience and constant reinforcement.
      I think maybe the key first step is exercise followed by diet change. This begins detoxification. Also developing faith and belief in what you're doing.

      Taking good care of yourself is part of healing your nervous system as well. This strengthens the postive pathways in the brain and most likely will give you more power to work through the rest.
      I had some bad triggers last week and am really struggeling at the moment. Feeling overwhelmed by "the need of calming my nervous system". For me this video was very soothing and I am about to make plans for a sauna day tomorrow.

      Hi ayu odagirl, Jen here from Team Lyon. Every system is different, and generally speaking most people can benefit from eating whole, nutrient dense food. • @teamlyon3109

      Hi Leila, Seth here with Team Lyon. Sunscreen blocks the ability to produce Vitamin D in our system, which is the natural physiological response to being exposed to the sun, and a very important one! Also, we don't have a ton of research to back this up, but what we've noticed anecdotally, is that as we have detoxified our systems, and gotten lots of good fat into our cells, we simply stopped burning, no matter how long we were out in the sun. If someone is not at that point I recommend simply wearing a hat, and being aware of your skin, such that you cover up or go in the shade once you start to sense you've had enough sun.

    Irene, but with CFS and Fibromyalgia weights are not possible for me right now 😢

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  Рік тому

      Leonora Abreu, Jen here from Team Lyon. I hear you that weights aren't possible for you right now. Another aspect of this work involves respecting our physiological capacity, and this can be especially important when CFS is in the picture. Given this, you might start to notice the ways in which you already bear weight and move your body. This could include things like walking to the bathroom or rolling over in bed.
      Once you have this awareness, you might explore how you can build on this a very little bit at a time, giving yourself time in between each change to see how you respond. For example, if you're someone who's able to cook, you might start by living a can of soup 3 times with each hand and while in a seated position, pressing your feet into the floor three times and then releasing. You could also explore some isometric movements. These are intended to be examples - adjust these suggestions up or down depending on your current level of ability.
      The principle of titration can be very helpful as we are rebuilding up from a place of depletion. I'll link to a few of Irene's related videos.

      1) total cholesterol includes HDL, “the good cholesterol” and so the total increases when HDL increases. So total has no meaning.
      2) not one element in the cholesterol test is actually cholesterol. LDL is low density “lipoprotein” ball and HDL is high density “lipoprotein” ball and triglycerides are fatty acids. So there is no cholesterol measured in that test.
      The test yo measure cholesterol is called NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) that can actually see how much cholesterol particles you have in each lipoprotein ball, like LDL.
      If they want to know how much your cholesterol is, they need to get you that test. And there are large fluffy and small dense within the LDL type and the small dense are the problem ones. They are oxidized.
      3) Oxidative damage to your cholesterol was caused when you ate exclusively plant-based because plants have PUFA and they oxidize
      4) PUFA reduces LDL but it increases the amount of oxidized cholesterol in each LDL ball.
      5) All the fat-soluble vitamins are carried in LDL.
      6) Most of our body uses free fatty acids for fuel. LDL carries this free fatty acid. With lower LDL the body needs to use more glucose as fuel and some organs-such as the heart-after using glucose, get injured because of the lactic acid buildup. The heart nearly exclusively runs on fat and it must come from somewhere.
      You will be up against lions in the corner with these doctors because they must follow the rubric that was created by the institutions that messed up everyone’s health. "
