He can't even bear to look at you. His attacks aren't targeting anything. They're all over the place. Even when he strikes using his trident, he uses wide swings, not actually aiming at you...
Man..When that flute dove slightly out of tune, it sent chills down my spine. My band side was like, "No, that's not okay!!" And my rational mind was like, "OH MY GOD, YES PLEASE...!!" Overall, this was an outstanding composition!!
Golden flower pedals fill the air. You can feel a light breeze from beyond the barrier and it fills you with determination. The King of the Underground bows his head in solace. "Just one more life and we can all go free..." He readies his trident with pain in his heart. He knows, win or lose, that this will be his final battle.
Wow. I'm breathless. I thought I could live without requesting Battle Against a True Hero, but now I'm willing to beg for it. Your style of orchestration is so great!

Good God. This is literally the best piece of music I’ve ever heard. I just spent six minuets in my living room, eyes closed and arms flailing as if I was trying to pluck each and every note played by each and every instrument out of the air. I’m sure some day this’ll be toppled in my mind by some other work, but for now it is genuinely a feat of musical prowess.
Damn, that is spine-chilling! Not nearly as intense as other covers, but with overtones of urgency, giving such a deep impression in my head! And the pitch bend in the flute! OH MY LORD IT'S SO GOOD!
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Jesus Henrik i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I find all of these videos fascinating, you look at the fight and the song and come at it from a completely different angle from me. For me this fight was soul crushing, the whole game gives you a child like view of the world, teaches you that killing is always wrong and then it faces you with asgore, neither of you want to fight, both of you just want to be friends but you both have to fight, this is all just made worst by the earlier experience with toriel. Firstly how you know that she is his wife and secondly by how you can, and most probably did by accident, kill her off in such a brutal manner when trying to prove yourself and progress.
A very nice arrangement with a plethora of instruments. I actually like the fact that there's no real escalating build up and just stays in this comfortable medium throughout the whole piece, which makes it transition into a loop effectively. Other might not like that it doesn't reach some grandiose epic conclusion towards the end, but it makes it stand out even more for me compared to most other covers/versions I hear. Keep it up!
This arrangement causes so many emotions.. I love it! Especially the buildup near the end as in 6:09 - the fanfare, combined with this little piano motif, this simple, single clap and the fact that the main theme is kinda repeated once more at the end make me wanna cry from nostalgia and the moments I had in this beautiful game. Thank you so much for this, I absolutely adore your work
This is amazing. The tune is nice, it always seems to have that point in the back that no one notices but keeps it going. The combination of sounds all added together are amazing. The way the flute plays is quite amazing. Good job.
This is absolutely incredible! There is so much feel in this, you really captured the essence of the song! I love how you take time to analyze the original song. The drums fit so perfect with the strings and horns and everything! You never sieze to amaze me, because you take the arrangements to places I could never imagine! And yet it's like "of course it should sound like this!" You truly are crazy talented, in the best way possible! Stay awesome!
Just a great song! A perfect for Undertale movie. And the backsong, there's like-vikingish spirit, it matches with Asgore himself, he's like a big daddy viking leader. This is actually what i needed! Oh yeah, don't forget there's a like-medievalish spirit too!
I think I mentioned on your Heartache upload that, despite also being made by you, I don't think this cover quite compares to Heartache - it doesn't contain as much of the tragedy as I'd want from a piece about Asgore, especially when you gave Toriel so much. But even so, it takes a really unique stance on the song which I adore. First off, each movement of the strings, each note of the woodwinds, is crisp and sharp, even with the intro. It perhaps might not be something you expect from a burly character like Asgore, but it works perfectly to give the song this royal and militaristic feeling. The percussion aids this as well, with a cross between war drums and more crisp percussion similar to Megalovania. It not only aids to the feeling of an honorable battle, but almost like a dance, a ritual that has been carried out with every human before, one whose consequences extend far past this fated encounter. Interestingly though, the brass isn't treated as crisply. Granted it's mostly low brass, but between the transition from the intro to the main song, and the transition into the Heartache section, it's emphasized and lengthened, as if to hold the battle in the air. To, if just for a moment, peer past Asgore's shadowed face and understand the tragedy, but also that any hesitation will only delay the inevitable. I specified the low brass though, because it forms a cool dichotomy with the trumpets nearing the end of the Heartache section. The low brass steadily comes in with sharp notes, but gradually becomes softer in tone, while at the same time the trumpets jut in to proudly proclaim the power of his royal highness, as if it and the war-like beat are trying to cover the emotion beneath. I consider it almost tragic that the song itself, in portraying the tragedy of such a kind soul as Asgore distancing himself from the horrible task he is given, the song itself is somewhat neutered because of its dedication to portraying that façade, presenting the war and royal aspects in full force, while only keeping the emotion underneath for the avid listener. Even so, you worked with this idea perfectly, by having that façade slowly crack. By the time the Heartache chorus hits, the chorus of trumpets is, while accented, less staccato, the singular flute that called for an honorable battle now plays a sad harmony, and even a glockenspiel (calling back to a music box of course) joins in. It all comes to a head during the Determination section, playing the solo with the beauty you'd expect from a player putting their heart into the song, their soul on display... only for the harpsichord and stinging violins to make their way back in, dropping the beat to once again push away that emotion and focus on the battle. It's funny, you're usually the composer who deviates most from the original piece, and yet this part right here gets the idea Toby was going for during the piano solo and subsequent build-up in the original ASGORE, so much so that its made me realize things about the original piece in itself! I think what's even crazier is the piece does effectively end there. Sure, it gives a little flair of the main ASGORE motif to feed back into the loop, but even so from the piano solo onwards it's just hitting the story beats of the original, even pulling out Spear of Justice for its cameo in all its glory. In fact, this cover near perfectly matches the structure of the original. It makes me wonder if you didn't have to go looking for a story in the song to compose this time... you simply saw the tragedy the song already had to tell.
I love how creative you've been in making this arrangement. I love it to pieces! :D Thank you so much. I hope all the trouble was worth it in the end, pal, cos this is amazing! I love the piano part especially.
Arrangement is amazing. Yet again you impress me with your choice of style and instruments. You made the orchestration that suits the occasion perfectly. Thank you!
I love love LOVE this. I love how you mixed the violins into this epic orchestral soundscape. I love how you put your own spin on things and switched the chords up sometimes. I love this in so many ways.

It's really strange. But also not. It has also take a long time for me to write this comment. This is by far the best and my favourite interpretation of this song. I have been listening to this for years and keep coming back to it every week or so to give it a listen for its epic stance and build up. What is strange is I have previously listened to your music even more years before with the cover of Tal Tal heights from links awakening. By far my favourite version. Little did I know they were both composed by the same person! To think that on a platform as large as UA-cam your talent shone through the ages and will always continue to :) I have discovered so much more through you such as setsuna. Keep on your musical journey! :D I'll be anticipating your next release.

imho this is the best orchestration out there on UA-cam. not sure why this get only 200k views. I really like the piano at 2:40. The beats is just prefect for my study mix.
Hi! I listened several of your undertale's orchestrations, nice work! The overall is pretty well done, but I think one of your major problem (and it is more flagrant here) is that you give too much importance to strings. They basically have all the important themes, but aren't necessarily the most adapted instruments for that. Don't just use brass as supports, they can do much better (I would have pictured predominant winds instruments at the beginning, the transition could have been much more impressive this way). I advise you to listen to some brass bands records, it could give you some new possibilities and ideas.
thanks for your suggestion, and i agree that a lot of my tracks have been string heavy. a big reason is that i simply have much better string sample libraries compared to my brass and woodwind libraries, and it would take a lot of time and effort tweaking everything to get them sounding good as the main focus. it's easier to mask their fake sound when they're in the background. nevertheless, i do intend to try to improve my use of non-string instruments. thanks again!
my favorite part is that it still has the vibe of the original songs for example Bergentruckung still has that sad somber tone but also sounds regal but also not regal at the same time. ASGORE has a tone similar to heartache (especially when the leitmotif of heartache is playing) with the same reluctance to it and the drums oh the drums they fit perfectly for this arrangement. bravo good sir
I feel that in this piece you didn't tell as much of a story as you usually do. It had a constant mood, constant energy level, mostly constant instrumental selection throughout. Harder for me to stay engaged than normal. That being said, freaking incredible arrangement. Loved it. Thanks for sharing!
I really like your take on this song. By handing off the melody to various instruments, it doesn't get repetitive like the original could. and i like how the beginning is light, not too heavy so early on in the fight. and i really kove that flute that bends the pitch. masterful use of thst, and not something ive seen on other orchestrations of this. i love it!
Awesome arrangement! I was expecting this to sound a tad more “epic” (if you will) and not as light but it still sounds great. That’s just my opinion :) All the undertale orchestrated pieces you compose are awesome.
this is absolutely fantastic. the drums, the strings, the chimes... gave me chills! the only part that bothered me was the out of tune wind but in the middle, but i’m guessing that was intentional :) amazing work!!!
The arrangements are nice, but I think you really sold it short by not fully committing to the driving beat. It's got some great moments but never really gets up to full intensity and instead I felt like it just left me hanging, with some kind of never-ending build up. I just want the release, and the percussion section to let loose and go f***in' bonkers. Still very competent and well arranged, I just disagree stylistically with it, I guess.
+HelpfulPlez you make a good point. This track was genuinely confusing for me to arrange. I felt like the original track reached its climax at the point before the transition to the solo piano/organ, and had an extended ending. I felt like unless I totally changed the last section, I wasn't able to give out that big finish. Any ideas on how it could be done?
I agree with the difficulties concerning the actual phrases of the song where the build would be. I think your understanding of the 'where' is completely fine, I just mean that you never had a section that really railed on the 2 and 4 with some heavy snare. In essence, it's fine to not have the song structured as a linear progression, and have the strongest beat towards the middle. It can fade out and get a little bit more frilly towards the end, and I think that abnormal structure will still resonate with those familiar enough with the song. I can certainly recall thinking the exact same thing when I listened to the original. "Weird, it kinda just waffles out towards the end, but the first half is really intense." Still, as for how to implement it, just add that 2 and 4 rhythm. If you're familiar with RichaadEB, see his heavy metal interpretation. He has an incredibly strong beat to drive the song, and that's what I'm looking for in essence, just orchestrally instead of with a simple drum kit. Hopefully that's clear enough.
You man transformed unique feelings and emotions in something that is perfectly addicted to what my heart always wanted to find about this kind of music in combination to a great game wich undertale is.
I find it funny that Toriel’s theme is called “Heartache”, yet that name would fit Asgore just as well. A lonely king who believes he deserves no forgiveness. Who lost his son, his child, and his wife. A truly broken man, yet still upholding the lives of his people for one hundred years without falter.
Not a big Hans Zimmer fan, but I like that you utilize the sense of full sound that comes from his soundtracks. Very good, my friend. This would probably sound great even in a really plastic midi machine.
While not being quite as intense as some other remixes who wish to recreate the epicness of the fight, this piece makes for up it in that it matches the feelings you experience throughout the battle and Asgore's character much more faithfully.
It's songs like these that need the power of the choir to symbolize that this battle is THE battle. Monsters are all believing in Asgore to kill the human and take their soul but he doesn't want to because he sees the innocence within the human (that is, if you haven't killed anybody). But that is just minor judgement on my part. I really like where you were going for this track. You made sure that the feeling of determination is constantly surging through you as the player but the "intended"(???) lack of strength despite the buildup makes it so that you need to realize that Asgore's life is hard and he doesn't want to kill you although he must. Your determination wanes... This track perfectly got that feeling. I always love music that makes you FEEL complex emotions that makes us people unique. The feeling like what this fight gives. It gives you determination AND guilt. Both don't go well and don't make sense but it is a feeling that exactly describes what you feel during the fight. Well played my dude

Neat analysis! I don't understand most of it, but it's nice to see that there are people who can find the cool rocks so to speak.

Awesome arrangement! I was expecting this to sound a tad more “epic” (if you will) and not as light but it still sounds great. That’s just my opinion :) All the undertale orchestrated pieces you compose are awesome.
Truly phenomenal work!!!
This is perfect, just perfect
this feels fitting, like this is what the song is supposed to sound like
I seriously always loved this song and this is even better! :D
I already have goosebumps from the beginning of the melody, great job!
Dude, this is so good! 0:59 gives me chills lol
Absolutely amazing. Fabulous job
I listen to this, and I imagine Asgore having a friendly, but super cool looking spar with someone. :)
I've been waiting for this and as soon as I saw this in my notification bar my day was made!
GOD, I LOVE YOUR ORCHESTRATION! Beautiful mess is a kind of my favourite
I was thinking Sawano before I read your description completely, it's not a bad influence for orchestrated tracks!
this is absolutely fantastic. the drums, the strings, the chimes... gave me chills! the only part that bothered me was the out of tune wind but in the middle, but i’m guessing that was intentional :) amazing work!!!
Awesome work!! I love this.
Undertale: Awakening
this has such a unique sound!! wow!!
Study with this music and it will give you the feeling that you're in your finals.
Hmm, possibly true. It felt a little bit... tame. But still, a good track.
I agree.
"Weird, it kinda just waffles out towards the end, but the first half is really intense."
Still, as for how to implement it, just add that 2 and 4 rhythm. If you're familiar with RichaadEB, see his heavy metal interpretation. He has an incredibly strong beat to drive the song, and that's what I'm looking for in essence, just orchestrally instead of with a simple drum kit.
Hopefully that's clear enough.
HelpfulPlez I wish I was a music nerd, too ;-;
You man transformed unique feelings and emotions in something that is perfectly addicted to what my heart always wanted to find about this kind of music in combination to a great game wich undertale is.
Amazing as always
Omg, this is just so awesome, sounds majestic :3
I've been waiting for this one. It sounds fantastic!
How long did it take you to finish it?
Btw don't worry about that dislike, I'll hunt him down ;)
I'll hunt down the other dislike
And I'll hunt the third
M_Dutch97 I'll get the fourth
Damnit, none left for me.
AHA
5TH ONE'S MINE
2:08 That Flute God all mighty! That flute I really wish there was way more flute becuase god this works so well
I find it funny that Toriel’s theme is called “Heartache”, yet that name would fit Asgore just as well. A lonely king who believes he deserves no forgiveness. Who lost his son, his child, and his wife. A truly broken man, yet still upholding the lives of his people for one hundred years without falter.
It's the best orchestral cover I've listened.
I've been waiting for this... worth it. Aah, I love it *o*
Not a big Hans Zimmer fan, but I like that you utilize the sense of full sound that comes from his soundtracks. Very good, my friend. This would probably sound great even in a really plastic midi machine.
Just.So...GOOD!!!
Amazing Work I'm really Speechless
Goat Dad…
Man, this song is epic, it times i wanna get back into playing Undertale
While not being quite as intense as some other remixes who wish to recreate the epicness of the fight, this piece makes for up it in that it matches the feelings you experience throughout the battle and Asgore's character much more faithfully.
This is BEAUTIFUL!!!
this man is a true opponent.
our battle will be lengendary
Nice nice, I have been waiting for another one :) Thanks you m8
Simply beautiful.
listening to this fills you with determination
Sounds great,
boy this boss what quite hard so I came to enjoy this theme the most...
Epic Beginning!
2:07 bro that little flute was everything
