- In this week's video, we did something a little different: this video is going to act as a live demo to showcase the live-streaming and multi-camera capabilities of the ATEM Mini HDMI Live Stream Switcher by Blackmagic Design. This 4-HDMI switcher and its ATEM Software Control program are absolutely perfect for small scale live-streams and multi-cam programs, so I thought it would be cool to demo it live in this video!

Can this work if combination of multiple input in one single scene? Like on top of each other (for example the one was lyrics presented from other computer overlayed to the camera feed).

For using a mirrorless/DSLR camera in 1080p mode at 30fps to do Zoom conferences: Do you know how the video quality of the Blackmagic ATEM Mini compares to the Magewell Capture HDMI Gen 12 and/or the Elgato Cam Link? If I want to minimize latency, am I better off getting an internal computer card like the Magewell Pro Capture HDMI Card? I heard complaints about certain capture cards that use some form of jpeg compression that reduces the video image quality. Does that really matter? Does a device using USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0 make any difference in latency? (I know the Blackmagic ATEM Mini is a switcher with extra features, but at this temporary point, I'm just trying to understand differences in latency and video quality for each device using 1 mirrorless/DSLR camera.) Thanks.

Could you you see the preview of all the connected cameras on Vimix? or do you have to use their software?? also if you send stereo audio from the camera via hdmi, are you able to control 2 separate channels on the switcher? or would it work on Vmix, programing the audio keys to control vmix?

Did you record this as a livestream or a screen capture? How did you get the image to be so clear? I've been running into issues where the bitrate causes livestreams to be fuzzy/pixelated.

@@alexisgc33 you could install and use OBS and focus on recording. (But you’ll need a good camera setup as well, good luck )
Why is your video so clear and crispy? I am using a BM studio 4k, but I use it with vmix software. I can't get it to be as clear as yours. What do you do?
Great video. Question: Can the HDMI out (or any other optional output) run into a dongle for iPhone? Amazon Live only allows iPhones right now and I'd like to have multiple cameras running. This would work perfectly if the output can be converted to Lightening for iPhone. Thanks
I have not had luck with things like this in the past, but I haven't tried in a long time and I have more faith in iPhone than Android. Good luck!

Great review. Do you happen to have a video talking about the audio setup. I have heard that running the audio through the device causes audio video sync issues?
I don't, BUT I will mention here that all of the audio recorded from the switcher was delayed by 4 frames! The audio came from mic jack #1 from a wireless lav
Depending on how you hook up your audio you would or would not get a delay. If you hook up an unbalanced mixer to the line in 1 or two you get no delay since the audio and video enters the mini the same time. With a mixer you can add as many mics your mixer can handle and you got two line in ports = one more mixer or unbalanced souncard.

so you can use the USB-C as the output to go into software like OBS? The USB-C acts as one live webcam?
yes exactly, the entire output of this unit goes through that USB-C and then your computer/software recognizes it as a webcam
Can this video switcher handle a 4k hdmi cord? Because I tried it and my device keeps saying no signal

Does this work with any hdmi camera source or does it have to be “clean” hdmi?
For all non-BMD cameras (e.g Ursa, BMPC6K) it has to be clean HDMI. Right now it only tethers to BMD cameras and with those it retrieves the clean HDMI on it's own

seems like the Pro added a lot of internal stuff like stream metadata and much support for recording out to SSD. And the big draw to the Pro ISO is that it simultaneously creates a DaVinci resolve project along with your live stream, physically the same as the Pro

You can assign it to any of the 4 inputs, or set it as a preview
You can assign it to any input, Multiview (big feature that regular Mini doesn't have), or Program View

Yes, as long as they go HDMI in

Yes but only if you can get your audio signal into the ATEM through a 3.5mm mic jack or HDMI... no XLR's on this unit

Yes, in my video on the Mini Extreme ISO, all of the nature/screensaver shots were from an Apple TV via 50ft HDMI

that transition demo looked super awkward lol, why not describe the transitions as you were doing them?
I wounder if Riot would consider this an cheat device as well since they already block a lot of capture card devise so i found out the hard way. I am going to have to use an 2nd pc with capture card in it the NDI back to my main pc for muticam view all for one game .. might have to borrow one of these to give it an go all for wanting to use my external camers for mutiview ingame LOL yes i could use 2 webcames but meh
Primary purchase use is for multiple-camera input & switching. Why didn't you demonstrate that? A demo showing multi-cam switching for a device such as this one is infinitely more useful than 5:57 "transition tour."
