    Okay, I think prior accusations of abusing other people on the part of Heard is absolutely relevant to the Virginia case. As Dr. Curry stated, false abuse accusations are a common tactic of female abusers, so the fact that other people are said to have been victimized by Heard would actually serve to establish a pattern of behavior into which false accusations would actually fit perfectly.

      Dr Curry denied the existence of PTSD in Amber because "there were too many signs of it" and this many signs of PTSD was unusual to occur in the same person. So she assumed AH exaggerated. Imagine the emergency doctor telling you "I'm not convinced you are in pain because you show too many signs of it and I've never seen anyone with this many signs before". 🙄🙄🙄

    • @miathemouse5659
      @miathemouse5659 Рік тому +15

      @@Goodzillla1066 that explanation of what Dr. Curry found kind of ignores a lot of facts regarding how PTSD is disproven. Dr.Curry picked up on the fact that Amber reported symptoms which, on their face, meet criteria for symptoms of PTSD, but the way she claimed to be experiencing was actually inconsistent with the way that PTSD effects the brain, in reality.
      As someone who has PTSD, I can assure you that a lot of people think that they know the symptoms, but couldn't convincingly fake it, because lists don't actually give an accurate representation of what it is like to have it. The best comparison I can come up with is the difference between telling someone what ingredients go into a chocolate souffle and telling them how to actually prepare it. Lists don't do justice to nuance.
      There's another thing which I believe that neither psychologist mentioned: PTSD and Borderline present in very similar ways. Dr. Hughes went into her examination without entertaining the idea that the abuse didn't happen, so everything she found was colored by that assumption, and she didn't run any test which might disprove her assessment. Dr. Curry, on the other hand ran tests to look for PTSD, and a test to specifically look for faking. She also found that Heard did have symptoms consistent with trauma, but not recent trauma. The ways that trauma effects the brain actually change, over time. Because trauma has been extensively studied, over the past century, we have a pretty good idea of how recent trauma and distant trauma differ. Dr. Curry reported that Heard's symptoms were actually consistent with the trauma occuring in the distant (relative to Heard's lifetime) past. This would make sense, given that it's pretty widely known that she was abused as a kid. Honestly, if Dr. Hughes hadn't reported some symptoms of trauma, that would have been a red flag for me.
      Additionally, one of the factors that Dr. Hughes used to support her assertion that Heard wasn't the aggressor was the lack of history of abusive behavior. We now know that Heard actually had an extensive history of abusive behaviors towards others, but that information was just withheld from Dr. Hughes. Lack of access to complete and accurate history of a subject can actually render an assessment practically worthless, because it's foundational information when making a forensic assessment. However, that wasn't the only problem with Dr. Hughes. She would not, on the stand, admit to having ever treated/assessed/testified on behalf of the male victim of a female abuser. In fact, she seemed unwilling to do anything more than acknowledge that they do actually exist. If I were Depp's lawyers, I would have asked Dr. Hughes how she would expect a female abuser to behave in examination, of she were trying to convince Dr. Hughes that her male victim abused her. Bias is one hell of a drug.

    In requards to the point where they asked to bring up the vehicular death that Elaine fought to keep out. Well AH did hire a private detective to dig up dirt on on JD. Now none was found but they specifically gave names for Mr Baressi to dig up. Most were from over 40 years ago. They looked into the Viper Room employees and tried to find anything possible to discredit the man even when he was very young. I have heard a rumor that AH lost her license because she was the driver of a vehicle that caused a death. I think something bad did happen for her to lose her license til she was 21. I know it is sealed but Depp didn't hire a detective to dig up dirt on AH. She was hell bent on destroying that man. She is a twisted individual. I'm no Depp fan either. I'm just a fan of the truth and there doesn't seem to be a shred of truth inside that woman. She has dragged that poor man through the dirt and she doesn't get to play victim now that is has backfired. It's mind blowing the lengths that woman has gone through to ruin the man she claims to love. I hope Noone ever loves me that much. It's sickening. She has proved how horrible of a person she is and I as very sad she has a child. It's even scarier that she's the only parent for that poor baby to depend on. 😔

It seemed like there were several things Camille wanted to object to in Elaine's closing, but did not. Whether or not there’s grounds to overturn the judgement against JD, I’m still at a loss as to how AH proved Adam Waldman made those (truthful!) statements whilst acting as an agent for JD. I was keenly looking for it (and watched the entire trial), but I couldn’t see it. If anyone can pick out a piece of evidence presented at trial that would support this assertion, please let me know.

      It was confusing the way it mentioned in the trial. There were 2 calls to 911 but not the way Adam Waldman stated which was they called first, cops didn’t see anything, they left. They messed up the place and called back. According to officers there was no damage when they went at all. So I can see why she got that one. Only based on how it was approached/ timelined. It was confusing. But on appeal, I think that should be overturned for the simple fact that Waldman wasn’t acting as a spokesman for JD, it was just his belief of what they did.

Basically Amber heard hired him as a private investigator to dig up ANYTHING he could find on Johnny Depp, and he says he did a very thorough investigation and came back to her with nothing but praise for JD from literally everyone he interviewed. Obviously with no dirt to provide, AH fired him immediately and team AH has done their best to silence and discredit him. He was slated to testify on her behalf but again, with nothing bad to say about JD he was dropped, so her lawyers wanted that to be silenced in court as well and I suppose they won because I don't remember hearing his name at trial. I kind of feel that could have been relevant to JD because it shows that she was actively trying to find things to pile on and make him look bad. I would just caution you from going along with Elaine's framing on how Depp's team behaved with Whitney's depo. I can think of at least a few relevant reasons they may have been asking about the accident at the deposition (e.g. to find out if the tragic death in the car accident could contribute to Amber's purported PTSD). I also imagine both legal team's, but especially AH's are trying to paint the other team in the most negative light, and I've seen other examples of Elaine's motions skewing facts in a way that seems intended to mislead the court... so I approach both sides' motions, but especially Elaine's with a big ol ' "grain of addict salt" (as AH would say).

    I haven't heard about the fatal car accident with a friend before. And I was also very surprised to hear Peter say he finds it appalling that Depp's lawyers would bring it up even though "AH was in a different state when that happened". She wasn't involved and was in a different state according to whom? After everything we've seen transpire in that trial how can you take anything Elaine says at face value?
    How many times have we (anyone watching the trial) witnessed AH's legal team try to twist the facts? How many times have we seen JD's legal team do anything unethical? I can't think of one instance for the latter. And I don't even need to comment on the former.
    If anything, it makes me wonder if they had very strong reasons to believe that Amber was driving the car when that happened.

    🚨 🚨 🚨I think you skipped over an important bullet point in the MIL to exclude reference to discovery-related stuff. They specifically identify not wanting counsel to be able to say that something was disclosed “for the first time in your deposition/discovery response.” I think that relates to CV’s line of questioning about AH coming up with new allegations of IPV that she hadn’t disclosed previously. Remember that AH kept saying she’d never “gotten the opportunity” to give a full list before she did her response to JD’s Xth set of interrogatories (at least I think that’s what she said). It seems to me that the most controversial things came in through impeachment (which is fair) or Eleine's misconduct (e.g. the 6 mils).

      They don't necessarily need JD's deceased security person as a witness. More importantly would be to have the Doctor, who treated JD at the hospital at the time of the incident, testify. Or, at the very least subpoena the hospital records. But, there's just a couple of problems I could see with doing this - firstly, if JD specifically requested that the Doctor not record on the notes who was responsible for the injury to JD and, secondly if JD's blood/alcohol/drugs reading at the time would prejudice JD!
