Tommy The Great she’s not. Motor oil is used for time taking pancake photoshoots that by the time you’re done the syrup would’ve gotten soaked by the pancake. But in this video she barely took a minute to finish taking the photo which really didn’t require using a more viscous liquid like motor oil
I feel like since we've learned what they use in commercials,we think we know more than the actual food stylist. I'm not trying to be rude it's just a joke 🤠👍
Girl. All I did was jazz up ye old box of Bisquik with buttermilk and cooked them on an electric griddle. So simple. So delicious. Soooo fluffyyyyy! 😊 - Rishon
i'm really surprised this one required a lot more ACTUAL COOKING tricks like the wavy bacon technique and ~general~ hashbrown shaping. i was expecting to be grossed out once again!
Thanks for the ideas, finally someone who doesn't spoil the food with artificial stuff. Nicely done and explained. It is not nice of us to mock and despise, but rather to encourage.
can you feature next time how to style a grilled sirloin steak and grilled salmon fillet? want to know what’s the best way to put grill marks on salmon and steak. thanks 🙏
you’re bold and practical! some might say rude when you throw away that pancake ( disrespectful to food) buy hey it’s a show! :) thanks for sharing your tips here in foodstyling, you’re one of the best food stylists i found here on youtube!!! 👏👏👏
No, not motor oil… and I have never used motor oil for Food Styling. (Pretty sure that is either a myth or a trick from the “dark ages”) It was dark Karo Syrup which is corn syrup. I like to use that versus regular maple syrup because it is a little thicker in consistency, shows up better, and doesn’t absorb as quickly. Thanks for watching! And keep the questions coming. - Rishon
Okay, people are going to freak out if they see you using a metal spatula on a non-stick pan. An... All-Clad pan? Unrelated, if you want potatoes to keep a shape in a mold like that, add some flour to them before putting them in the pan. Then, cover the mold with a lid or another pan. This will cause the gluten in the flour to begin to gel slightly and will hold the potatoes together better when you flip them (though yours did pretty well during the flip). You've inspired me to reshoot a dish I shot two days ago with ham in it that just looked flat without the scorch marks.
Thanks Flynn! We've been growing steadily over the past few months. We'll keep putting out content in the hopes that more people continue to share and engage with us.
@@nbgirlygirl so yeah, its lying on what the product looks like to sell more hahaha. It works definitely, but you cant tell me it's not bullshit when they should that "good looking food" compared to what they serve you haha
HardDuckMan you’re buying burgers that cost no more than $3 made by some high school kids looking to make a quick buck...what exactly are you expecting
It' nice to see food styling where the food is still edible, after lol. The only thing is it'd be nice for the food to actually look that way when you buy it
I worked at IHOP in my pancakes never look like the ones she's showing they look old like they've been sitting around for hours when you cook a fresh pancake at IHOP it comes out like half an inch thick I don't know what I have she went to but she must have gotten leftover pancakes that's not how IHOP makes pancakes. Also when you line cook at IHOP you're working three Skillet at a time and pumping out a bunch of egg orders you don't use a metal spatula in a Teflon pan you just slide them out onto the plate and you're doing hundreds of orders. If a line cook use a spatula in every pan you would never get your order in time before your lunch break ends line Cooks make a ton of orders in a short amount of time and the food is fresh I don't know where she got those pancakes because I worked at IHOP and my pancakes looked nicer than hers to be honest with you like half an inch thick cuz you have to always make fresh batter in the morning. Whatever. It's easy to criticize a place that you don't know anything about. And comparing what your food comes like out on a plate to a corporation then you is ridiculous do McDonald's Big Macs look like the ones on the poster in the restaurant? I think she's being unfair and I don't mean any disrespect
Hate to tell you but when you work at an IHOP you cooking hundreds of breakfast dishes in a couple of hours and so the food is really good and really hot but it doesn't always look picture-perfect like the IHOP Corporation menu. The cooks at IHOP don't get to spend 30 minutes cooking one single dish like this video. Food is fresh and good but it's not going to be picture-perfect that's what you get at basically a fast-food restaurant which IHOP basically is I was a cook there for 20 years

Excuse me ma’am you’re supposed to use motor oil

I watch this whole video waiting for the motor oil.
Right 😂😂

The thing is that she won't be able to eat it after using motor oil

You can see the dark Karo right on the counter. 🤔😒
I was screaming eat the bacon the whole time she was holding it
My family questions me now
Wow actual edible food, other than the paper towel and paper plate. I can actually make this at home.
Go for it!
I want to do this too!

Thanks! More episodes on the way
I really enjoyed this vid!☺️

A lot of what you did is still edible. I may make a breakfast this way for the youngins for real.
I like my hash browns very crispy outside light fluffy inside, and I enjoy country gravy over top
You're making me very hungry!

What are hash browns?

Is it all still edible tho?
Man I'm so hungry
Did I miss the pancakes being cooked???
Food stylists are the reason restaurant food never looks like the picture
Me when she deals with the sunny side up: O_O
Their big breakfast is really really well done!!! Thanks for sharing let’s keep supporting each other
I didn’t see her make the pancakes
She is like the MacGuyver of food!
So basically all American food ads are selling lies
Yep
not really. its only purpose is to sell the food. you wouldn't buy it if was advertised the way it actually looks when served.

I mean people use filters in their pics. And do you really think models look like they do in the magazines and commercials when they get out of bed?
Waffle house-double order crispy with cheese. Yummy!
Can I have that plate???😋😋😋

Feel like the pancakes could’ve been better but over all good job
My god her eyebrows🤔😯
