you guys know this is a career, right? it’s not like she’s wasting 100’s of pizzas, and the food she does use gets contaminated with non edible things so it couldn’t be eaten anyways. i’m sure they eat the extra stuff that isn’t contaminated.
Jack K she didn't waste the first cooked pizza. She pretended to throw it. She threw the pepperoni away cause it was contaminated hence useless. But ya I do agree that the food industry should use more edible food styling methods.
I was gonna go to college to IUPUI to art school but I these videos makes me wanted to go to Michigan to become a food stylist. Cuz I love art and to cook with a hint of makeup.
People shaming for wasting food. Come on! She wastes 1 pizza to get awesome photos. Buffet restaurants and supermarkets waste tens of thousands. Want to fix food waste? Look at the companies that waste a lot!
I just found your channel and I am lovin’ it!!! You are an amazing food stylist!! I often wondered how the pictures of the food ALWAYS looked 100% better than the REAL product? Now I know!!! Because of incredibly talented artists like yourself! YOU GO GIRL!!!
Hi Lauren, This is a response I posted in the comments to another one of my videos regarding this concern: "We try to use and consume as much as we can. It is an unfortunate part of the industry that we waste food at all, so we try and do our part. As far as cooked food goes, we feed our teams during the day and then send leftovers home. And with groceries, both refrigerated and dry, we keep what we can use for future projects and then donate everything else to local shelters and churches." Thanks, Rishon
Lauran Carter calm down its legit one pizza.... you’re blowing it way out of proportions. It’s not like she wasted plates and plates of food from a buffet or something
@@RD-kw7mk It's still wasteful and ignorant though? This entire industry is why there is so much food waste in the food industry. Doesn't look good? Bin it! Super markets, farms and even restaurants do this. One pizza or not, they didn't have to bin it, or at least make it seem like they did. Feed it to the crew... like they claim they do.

Some of you don’t get the point of food styling. The point is to make the food look good, not to feed the staff. That’s the caterers job. There’s no need for it to be edible. You guys complain about her throwing away one pizza when in reality they would have 10 pizzas/burgers/sandwiches to Frankenstein the best parts together. It’s their job. You wouldn’t yell at a flight attendant for not finishing everyones plates. Food gets thrown away. Deal with it.
Gone ya like come on it was contaminated. Sure she ate it in one clip but think about it like this. You were cleaning your room and you have to choose which one to throw, an empty paper crushed up paper ball ( Not torn ) or a clean more appealing empty paper. Obviously you would pick the clean one. The same situation here. Except it was food... which was contaminated. Also the critical part was for the first reply and the original comment.
These videos are awesome!! I do prefer the ones where you don't happily throw away all the not used meals etc though....it just makes me really uncomfortable :/ couldn't the first pizza (not picked apart, not contaminated with not edible stuff, just not picture-pretty) have been eaten?
Thank you so much for expressing your discomfort. It was a poor creative choice that lead to those dramatic gestures of waste in the videos, and I am happy to say that is not the way I (and my team) treat food in our day-to-day. The answer is yes, that other pizza could have been eaten, but please know we keep our food waste to minimum and consume/give away/donate as much as possible. 🙏🏼 - Rishon
Food styling has always been fascinating to me. These videos are so cool. I'm surprised there aren't more views. I don't know how I found this channel but I am now subscribed!
Absolutely love your videos. One critisism if I may. It phisically hurts me seeing you or anyone wasting food when half the World is struggling to get fed. I am not talking about your product itself as much as the things you dont need for the shoot. How you tossed out those pepperonies - was unneccesary in my opinion, but then you trashed a whole pizza because it wasnt pretty with a huge grin like you did something funny. Again I do enjoy your videos, Im a suscriber and possibly watched them all, but wish you could show more sensibility to waste - you could say you will donate the food to a foodbank or your crew will eat them, or just put them on the side without mentioning anything. But when Ive heard that "ugly" pizza landing in your trash, it made me think how many homeless people would love that that pizza, and how many of them were starving in your neighborhood while you were shooting. Again, you dont need to be a food samaritan, just please dont try to be funny and trash not pretty food while millions try to make a difference and live waste free or help people who are way less fortunate than us and struggle to get a square meal every day. Very sorry if Im out of line. I did not try to hurt anyone. Just a humble request from your fan.

If your country is experiencing a pepperoni famine, please let me know. I will immediately design an awareness ribbon and organize some sort of pepperoni walk so that as a race, humans can come together to send your citizens crates and crates of pepperoni. No one should have to live in a society in which pepperoni is a lacking commodity. Also, her JOB is to make food that isn't necessarily edible, but looks "pretty" so it can be used in product photography and advertising. She's not making pretty food because she's going to take it to a movie. This "pretty" pizza employs hundreds to thousands of people in various industries, and subsequently puts food on the plates of countless other people.
First off all, I do appreciate this as an art, but can I point out how you waste food and find it funny ? Have you heard of the phrase ‘world hunger’. Maybe you could do a segment on how to recycle the food you needlessly waste.
