    I really don't understand the culture behind needing to shield children everything because it might "traumatize them". I understand wanting to have the talk about sex when their older. But telling younger kids that babies come from a mommy's belly and not from the cabbage patch doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I knew exactly how babies where born before the age of 3 and I'm the youngest child in my house hold. My mom used to watch a show called "A Baby Story" back in the 90's and that showed women giving birth and I turned out perfectly normal.

      I saw my first live birth when I was 10. It was a cat but still.
      My 4 year old was 3 when Daniel Tiger's mom had a baby and now she has most of the basics. We haven't talked about how the daddy gives the sperm to the mommy yet but the rest of it she knows. She even uses the words uterus and vulva.
      She also knows men have a penis but it's still a bit of a foreign concept to her as she hasn't seen one except on livestock. She tried to milk my mom's billy goat once so we had a little discussion.

    It sucks that disney banned this episode cause its one of my favourites in the entire show. Not only is the episode just absolutely hilarious from start to finish, but I like how it normalise childbirth and doesn't fall into a lot of the cliches of scenes like this.
    I do understand that some parents wanna wait till their kids are older to talk about where babies come from and that's completely understandable, but I never really got the whole "Oh babies come from the cabbage patch or a stork brings them" my mum told me that babies come from a mums stomach and I was completely fine

      tbf, my family made a weirder version of childbirth by saying that babies grew in the stomach and either "out the bum" or through C-section (aka how i was born), all I did at most is question how the baby didn't die from stomach acids but I was otherwise fine.
      I've always found it a bit weird that some people say that "babies come from a stork" or smth because what if a kid sees a pregnant mom? or sees a mom about to give birth in a hospital? what are the parents gonna say?

    • @couch_philosoph3325
      @couch_philosoph3325 Рік тому

      I think it's healthier to just tell kids that babies grow inside the belly of women. Like don't put on a graphic video. But children are bound to be around pregnant women, as tons of families, cousins, etc. will have a parent that is expecting. So not being turthful just takes away also from children understanding that a pregnant lady might need to sit on their spot at the bus cause she is using her energy to grow a new human

    • @eglol
      @eglol Рік тому

      Exactly! Linger and postpone for too long and that's when problems arise! People only tell their kids lies because they were told lies, and they think that's what to do. And because they were told lies or not told what is true about the situation for so long, they think it's so weird and gross, but it's literally natural, and literally just how it is! I guess that doesn't mean it doesn't seem gross to us spoiled humans at times, but it really is just how babies are born, every time.
      Parents are too embarrassed to talk about that stuff a lot. Bluey handles it right, or at least better.

    American mom here and our family has seen this episode. When my 2 year old (non verbal but understands EVERYTHING) was watching, he started signing wanting to know what was going on. We told him exactly what it was and he got so excited about it and was clapping so much when Bingo was born. I think it's so crazy that Disney is censoring so much of this amazing show. Times are racing forward and things are rapidly changing. Disney needs to realize that they can't keep "shielding" children from these things for very long.

      I'd love to see a petition demanding that this episode be released. If it worked for "Family Meeting" then why not this episode.
      And if the holy roller snowflakes make a fuss, then TOUGH! Besides, they have that dumb chinchilla cartoon. Those idiots are holding this nation back, are fine with going against the Constitution and don't like that the USA is a Secular Democratic Constitutional Republic.
      If one wishes to be an "Ultra-Conservative Christian", want to be a prude, pray to an angry version of God and practice traditional gender roles, fine... all the MAJORITY of Americans ask is that it's not imposed on us.
      Don't like a show, don't watch it. Don't believe in Same Sex marriage, don't have one! Want to pray in Public School, one can still do so, quietly or with like-minded friends.
      Disney has been feuding with Ron DeSantis. What would be a better way to stick it to him than releasing this episode.
      If Disney is skiddish, put a disclaimer before it. Sheesh!

    • @ToastyNoneofyourbusiness
      @ToastyNoneofyourbusiness Рік тому

      Yeah i don't think that's the reason. Disney is notoriously puritanical, but even they wouldn't have a problem with that scene. It's fairly obviously it's playful - Bandit was intentionally being cheeky, Chili obviously wasn't actually hurting him or trying to hurt him, they were both smiling and laughing. Disney will put up with a lot of things, but anything related to sex or sexuality has always been a big no-no for them

      @@ToastyNoneofyourbusiness I think Disney is so obsessed with making money that they feel that they NEED to please everyone. Since their stuff goes throughout the world, including very homophobic countries, they have to play kid gloves with everything.
      This is why they can only IMPLY LGBTQA characters and not have them obvious about it (Be it Artie from 'CRUELLA' or LeFou from the live action version of 'BEAUTY & THE BEAST'). It's got to be either a secondary or minor character that COULD be interpreted as gay without saying it or a very brief character or scene that could be cut for international markets.
      This is why "STAR WARS" fans never got to see Finn & Poe as a couple (despite John Boyega, Oscar Issac and MANY fans pushing for it). Disney's gotta get those Rubles and Yuan, after all.
      Banning this episode is an example of this, gotta get those Right-Wing parent's "dollar-bucks" and they hate sex-ed and anything "gender-bending".
      Disney can only go as far as having "Gay Day" promotions at Disney World and get mad at Ron DeSantis for his "Don't Say Gay" law. Otherwise, they have to walk on eggshells.

    The part of the episode where I think it's understandable for them to censor the episode is the whole birthing process in general. Like yeah in Early baby the kids are pretending to be pregnant and "giving birth" but what they're doing is the pulling a doll out of a sash while in Dad baby it basically is what happens when a woman, or trans man, decide to give birth. Usually when that happens on shows it is behind closed curtains (Doesn't stop the audience from hearing the screams though)

    I think that a lot of it has to do with the targeted age group for the show, which is young children. As opposed to the other examples where the targeted range was preteen to teenagers. By the same perspective, you would not see a childbirth scene in an episode of Sesame Street or Dora the Explorer, regardless if it involved a woman or a transgendered man. It is easy to vilify Disney by accusing them of being transphobic, but really they are trying to keep their airing of the show innocent and not involve childbirth, sex, or gender politics. Also avoiding angry letters from angry parents, that's a big point right there. Conciser that they also cut the joke in one episode where Bingo asked Bandit how the baby gets into the women's belly.

There was also an episode where Lil’ Nas X was dressed in what appeared to be a ladies maid outfit while singing with muppet penguins. It also showed real chicks hatching and covered in the left over egg goo. And in the 2019 Dora movie she repeatedly talks about mating and lizards are shown mating. As an American from what I can see from this show alone is that Australian men appear to be comfortable in their masculinity unlike much of American culture now. A man raising his two daughters and being a decent parent shouldn’t be seen as threatening, but it is.
    Modern conservative culture: men are men and should be working. Child rearing is woman’s work. If you’re taking care of children you’re not a real man.

Basically forcing a parent to explain how childbirth actually works when they are not ready to have that conversation with there kid, or they don't know how to have that conversation in an appropriate manner for their child's age.

    It’s because of the stigma homebirth and midwifery carries in US vs places like Australia and the UK where it’s normal to have a baby at home with a midwife if you have medical clearance to. Unless you’ve done it yourself in the states most people don’t realize how different we treat it here. Versus other first world countries… that’s why the other birth scene is “safe” because it’s in a hospital..
    I’m in Florida where we have some very serious anti lgbtq legislation happening but it’s a mistake for people to think this was censored for that reason, I don’t believe it for a second but only because I had a homebirth last year and know how my country views it :(
    it’s classist and horrible and a serious issue and Disney could have left it up to parents to skip that episode but they decided to censor it instead. It’s really disheartening that people don’t see the real reason why it’s been banned, and are attributing it to a anti lgbtq agenda, because there are other minority groups hurt by it. Toddlers won't even know what's happening because most toddlers can't understand long sentences. I can rememberso many scenes when I watched Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory(1971) as a child way back when. I didn't remember anything they said. I was a toddler. But I loved it and laughed at it because of the way Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka) and the Oompa Loompas acted on scene. I didn't know why Violet blew up like a balloon or why Agustus got stuck in the tube but I still found it funny. I laughed my ass off as a toddler. But I rewatched it as an adult a couple years back and finally could understand what they were saying. I remembered everything in the movie from a kid but this time I can understand the content.
      If I was a toddler watching that scene in bluey, I would be laughing because I'd think the dad looks silly. I wouldn't understand what's happening and when toddlers can't male sense of something it's usually funny to them. There is no blood there is no graphic content. The Owl House has a nonbinary character but they also arnt a human
    if they asked literally any transgender person i'm sure they'd find that we'd love to see the normalization of men having babies through cartoons and through a dad playing with his kids. i at the very least adore gender roles being swapped and played with
    so i'm pretty sure if its a trans issue it's them being transphobic, not trying to be an ally

    As a nurse I wish childbirth and early ( age appropriate) sex education was taught more in younger children. It is a clear fact that kids who have been exposed to proper terms and ideas are better advocates for themselves and have lower rates of sexual abuse. Child birth is a normal and natural thing.

    What I feel like they could do with the whole childbirth scene is have that episode placed in the adult account like I don't know if you know this but the movie turning red is PG but you cannot find it on a child's account on Disney Plus so what if they have that episode hidden from a child's account but you can watch it like any other episode on an adult's account

    Ik this is from a month ago but like the reasoning for a lot of things Disney likes to ban anything that gives representation to LGBTQ+ take the fact that Priya from turning red was supposed to have a kissing scene with the goth girl and that Pixar likes to give better representation to LGBTQ+ that they most likely have threatened to disperse from Disney just so they can have the rep

    • @bird266
      @bird266 2 роки тому +6

      Reason 3 and 4 is most likely the reasons and its just Disney playing it safe.
      What I think its more on how Bingo played as the "baby". There was a scene where Bingo dropped her head to the floor while still in the baby carrier and plopped back in the baby carrier after she said her bit. I got the joke, but I get the feeling my younger cousins will ask me if thats what babies do while in the mother's belly.

      @@saturnisgay69 But Bandit isn’t even trans. He is a bio male character who gets put into uncomfortable gender bending situations. Sometimes he rolls with it like Horsey Ride and marrying his brother Stripe who is playing the girl horse and Stripe looks uncomfortable the entire time. If anything it makes fun of LGBTQA and everyone is just mistaking jokes for inclusion because of being so desperate. It will NEVER be excepted beyond a joke. Straight people laugh at the “funny (not) gay” and LGBTQA thinks they are actually being included. They aren’t even actually LGBTQA and it shows by how uncomfortable the characters are in those situations. And it’s the uncomfortable parts that make straight people laugh. It validates straight-ness whilst making the gay stuff seem silly. It’s why Disney and other companies only have gay villains or side characters. Because gay = evil to many and having a gay villain reinforces that they are “bad gay”. Same with comic relief except now it’s gay = stupid/silly/idiot/clown. It reinforces negativity about the community.

    I wish they had just put a heads up on what's in the episode so parents could decide. My son LOVES Bluey and we watch it almost every day. It's actually playing now, and I wish we could watch the dad baby episode. The only valid argument they could use is that some parents want to teach the "stork method" of delivery, and that's totally fine, but anything else just seems a little dumb. I don't think Disney cares about LGBTQIA+

    My reason behind thinking this is in The Owl House, almost all characters are LGBTQ, (there’s NB, ace, les, and more) but Disney wasn’t the one to make the idea, but they passed it. Season three started and we only get three episodes for it, so it’s short because Disney doesn’t like it..
