That's what she told my dad when he was little "you got the touch" and that's what my dad said to me. Being an empath has its ups and downs because you feel others pain. My friends gravitate towards me when they're in some form of emotional distress because they know I care and want to help them feel better. One of my friends is convinced I'm part Fae lol ❤🧚♀️
Calypso did a very good job teaching children how to be cooperative, and thought kids how to not be annoying when working with others. I swear, working with people, sucks, because people are so fucking annoying.

Dude. Standardized learning messed me up so much. Not to mention my ADHD really didn’t help. Not to mention I was a pandemic graduate, so online learning actually hurt my mental and emotional health. What’s crazy is that, Megan Washington’s Music did help me through Freshman and Sophomore year. I Believe You Liar was such an amazing song and her voice was straight up Angelic. When I heard Calypso I though ‘she sounds familiar and so soft spoken. I wonder why’ the I saw her name and I was met with serotonin. After watching her episode, Barky Boats, and Space…I wish I had a teacher like Calypso. It would’ve helped me out so much. Sorry for rambling I really love nearly EVERY aspect of Calypso, she is by far my favorite character.
No she is watching Bluey and Mackenzie in the background of those episodes. She straight up took the typewriter away from Bluey to force Bluey into using her imagination instead of an actual typewriter and then lies about where the typewriter is. That is the one episode I did NOT like Calypso. Space was good though and I loved how she was guiding Mackenzie through his separation anxiety trauma. Fun fact: Border Collies can be prone to separation anxiety more easily than other breeds especially if they aren’t given something to do. Also Australian Shepherd’s like Calypso were created using the Australian Cattle Dog (heeler) and Border Collie to create the breed. This also explains why Calypso is pushing the Bluey/Mackenzie pairing in Barky Boats. And why I think it’s more likely than Jean Luc and Bluey.
The purple long dog is on top of the school house next to the heelers car, the brown long dog is next to the small Chloe plush, and Chattermax is on the very bottom shelf next to the Christmas book.

Lol, as an early childhood educator who has worked in a Steiner childcare here in Melbourne, 100% you can sit down and make a wool twistee (which is what she is doing) as the children play. I made, and continue to make lots of them ^_^
What are some of the things they teach you in that field in regards to being able to handle kids? As someone who went to a Steiner preschool I can testify that teachers like Calypso really do exist, but it always baffled me how no other teacher (or adult) could be a perpetually calm as my preschool teacher.
I actually think Calypso is either a psychologist who can easily identify sad children, or either she's interested in culture and religion from other countries and religions, or both. We need more people (or in this case, dogs) like Calypso, because she's teaching children how to help each other, and be cooperative and not a pain in the ass when working together. The world sucks now, 'cause of social media, and people are not cooperative, more like annoying to work with. That's why people suck like shit, and I love working alone. Like, people, be quiet, and help others.

I only half watched the episode as I was taking care of my dad at the time, so when I looked up at the screen and saw the three terriers behind their little make shift castle, it brought such a big smile to my face! I've loved the terriers ever since.

I first read the title as "Is Calpyso MIUSIC?!" I quickly said, "Yes! Finally, something to do with my country." (Trinidad and Tobago). Calpyso originated in T&T. That is why I got so excited 🙈 (Calypso is a type of music that is a mix of Indian and African drum beats +lyrics.)

Watching this episode for the first time, as Honey shows her completed gnome village and the music swells (and I’m glad you mentioned that the music was in Babe) and my memory is shot back to “if I had words to make a day for you” it made me immediately misty eyed cause I thought it was just so beautiful and it brought me back to that song. Bluey's school in the show fascinates me as a Canadian. When I was Bluey's age, my school was teaching basic first level stuff like the alphabet, numbers, how to read, etc but Calypso seems to put heavy emphasis on using your imagination, creating things and socializing with other. I'm not saying one way of teaching is better than the other, it's just interesting to see how other schools go about it.
It is very much the Waldorf philosophy not the teach academics at Blueys age, and even in primary school generally that basis of learning doesn’t exist until children are 7-8, and it is taught with a heavy arts foundation

True. I feel like school at age 7, shouldn't be solely about imagination and there should be some aspect of math and history and stuff, but not done in the same way that modern schools do it. Imagination is overwhelmingly important. Also I heard something about Blueys school being like a certain type of real school.

Ngl, this is the first title card that made me do a double take, because of how absurd the theory is to me lol But oh man, Calypso! One of my favourite episodes, and one of my favourite characters! Her role in weaving the different scenarios the kids play into one connected storyline, the different scenarios themselves, and seeing the kids play out the story is always a treat. The music is phenomenal, and it also tells a story on its own. Saint-Saens' 3rd Organ Symphony: Finale, which the backing track for this episode is based on, is already a great listen and a fun one because it uses uncommon time signatures (9/4 mixed with 6/4) and musical phrasing, and Joff Bush and Joseph Twist's rendition is also a fun one to listen, especially the moments with Bluey's fish and chip shop. Notice how when we are first shown the fish and chip shop, the music is calm and is in 3/4 time signature. The next time we're shown the shop, when Indy comes in and asked for work, Bluey mentioned it's getting busy, and the music gets a little more excited with the instrumentation and changes briefly to 2/4 time signature, portraying the busyness and 'not having much time' aspect. Later, when Indy is working there, the music shifted to 4/4 time signature, making the scene feel more open and relaxed, since Indy is now helping Bluey, they're not that busy anymore. Finally, I'm convinced Joff and Joseph arranged the music in a way that every character here has a musical instrument or leitmotif associated to them. Calypso is the tambourine, present through most of the song. Bluey and Indy are the marimbas. Rusty is the oboe. The Terriers are the French horn, drum and strings ensemble, and the marching theme. Honey is the flute, and the gnome village itself in the beginning is either the xylophone or celeste. Coco and Chloe are flutes as well, or maybe woodwinds in general. And Pretzel is the beautiful countermelody at the end part. Yeah, sorry for rambling for so long, but I just really love this episode, and how it uses music to represent the characters and the story
I think magic would kind of... bring down what this show is? The "magic" we always see is the magic of a child's imagination, and I'm including the episode Fairies in that assessment. I think Calypso is just very perceptive and empathetic. I can't remember if it's this one or a different one (I'm pretty sure it's different), but there is a pair of episodes in Calypso's class that are back to back, where one clearly is a second part, and Indy and Rusty get in a fight while playing house. So peace probably doesn't last *that* long in her class xD

I love love love calypso ❤ I wish she was my teacher as a child I have ADHD and I think I may be autistic too and as a child my teacher shamed me a lot because it was hard for me to share my stuff with other kids and said “no” a lot and I was distracted like looking outside instead of “paying attention” to her when I was in fact listening to everything she said and when she asked me what she said after I repeated exactly what she said word for word she still called me disrespectful 😢

What state are you living in exactly? Where I live there’s plenty of “fish and chips” places. From Captain D’s and other fast food versions to mom and pop restaurants. And there are plenty of people having fish fries as fund raisers. I don’t even live by the ocean but there are places that serve ocean fish too. And in costal states like Florida and Louisiana there are even more places to get “fish and chips” as a menu item. Though sometimes they refer to the chips as fries which is weird.
I was gonna ask you to do a pom-pom deep dive I But realised pom-pom doesn’t have much screen time only one episode and the end scene of curry quest if you do a pom-pom, I recommend wait a bit until season 1 brings up another thing

Calypso is most likely named after the Goddess from Greek mythology, who is named Claypso. So they could take inspiration from her! Also, whenever you mentioned the island I could only think of the fact that Calypso from Greek mythology was banished to an island for, well forever.

She is a calm teacher, she knows what to say for any situation, she knows which kids to pair with for either a learning experience or making good friends with. If that's not magic, I don't know what she is.
i have seen my mom somehow do it. she has been a kindy teacher for well over 30 years. i would drop by and all the kids would be playing and she would be doing something. And people Ask her how she does it and she says i just do it and it works. funny enough she has the same sort of scarf around her neck during fall,winter and spring.
The "Terriers" are ***NOT*** Scottish Terriers! They are Miniature Schnauzers! Scottish Terriers are never pepper-and-salt (grey) colour - they can only be black, brindle (striped) or wheaten (golden fawn), they never have dropped (floppy) ears, and have an entirely different head and tail. In the Bob Bilby scene where a photo of a Scottish piper busker is shown in the scrapbook (no that's not Mrs Terrier, Mrs Terrier would not be busking, she was behind the camera), you can see an actual Scottish Terrier as drawn in Bluey style and you can see the difference with the darker colour, longer head and longer standing ears. It's a different kind of dog altogether from "The Terriers". The triplets in Bluey's class are named "The Terriers" due to an error/misunderstanding or perhaps a deliberate joke on the part of the creators, as the Miniature Schnauzer is erroneously placed in the Terrier group for show purposes by the American Kennel Club, even though it is not a Terrier. Rather it is a rough-coated Pinscher, a type of German pest control dog which in a fairly recent stage of its history was given the new name "schnauzer", a word which refers to its snout being bearded and strongly constructed. There is no Scottish reference here to the Romans. Source: I am a lifelong but now retired dog breeder and former show handler. This is my area of expertise.

Calypso is the tambourine, present through most of the song.
Bluey and Indy are the marimbas.
Rusty is the oboe.
The Terriers are the French horn, drum and strings ensemble, and the marching theme.
Honey is the flute, and the gnome village itself in the beginning is either the xylophone or celeste.
Coco and Chloe are flutes as well, or maybe woodwinds in general.
And Pretzel is the beautiful countermelody at the end part.
Yeah, sorry for rambling for so long, but I just really love this episode, and how it uses music to represent the characters and the story

I think magic would kind of... bring down what this show is? The "magic" we always see is the magic of a child's imagination, and I'm including the episode Fairies in that assessment. I think Calypso is just very perceptive and empathetic. I can't remember if it's this one or a different one (I'm pretty sure it's different), but there is a pair of episodes in Calypso's class that are back to back, where one clearly is a second part, and Indy and Rusty get in a fight while playing house. So peace probably doesn't last *that* long in her class xD

I love love love calypso ❤ I wish she was my teacher as a child I have ADHD and I think I may be autistic too and as a child my teacher shamed me a lot because it was hard for me to share my stuff with other kids and said “no” a lot and I was distracted like looking outside instead of “paying attention” to her when I was in fact listening to everything she said and when she asked me what she said after I repeated exactly what she said word for word she still called me disrespectful 😢

What state are you living in exactly? Where I live there’s plenty of “fish and chips” places. From Captain D’s and other fast food versions to mom and pop restaurants. And there are plenty of people having fish fries as fund raisers. I don’t even live by the ocean but there are places that serve ocean fish too. And in costal states like Florida and Louisiana there are even more places to get “fish and chips” as a menu item. Though sometimes they refer to the chips as fries which is weird.
I was gonna ask you to do a pom-pom deep dive I But realised pom-pom doesn’t have much screen time only one episode and the end scene of curry quest if you do a pom-pom, I recommend wait a bit until season 1 brings up another thing

Calypso is most likely named after the Goddess from Greek mythology, who is named Claypso. So they could take inspiration from her! Also, whenever you mentioned the island I could only think of the fact that Calypso from Greek mythology was banished to an island for, well forever.

She is a calm teacher, she knows what to say for any situation, she knows which kids to pair with for either a learning experience or making good friends with. If that's not magic, I don't know what she is.

The "Terriers" are ***NOT*** Scottish Terriers! They are Miniature Schnauzers! Scottish Terriers are never pepper-and-salt (grey) colour - they can only be black, brindle (striped) or wheaten (golden fawn), they never have dropped (floppy) ears, and have an entirely different head and tail. In the Bob Bilby scene where a photo of a Scottish piper busker is shown in the scrapbook (no that's not Mrs Terrier, Mrs Terrier would not be busking, she was behind the camera), you can see an actual Scottish Terrier as drawn in Bluey style and you can see the difference with the darker colour, longer head and longer standing ears. It's a different kind of dog altogether from "The Terriers". The triplets in Bluey's class are named "The Terriers" due to an error/misunderstanding or perhaps a deliberate joke on the part of the creators, as the Miniature Schnauzer is erroneously placed in the Terrier group for show purposes by the American Kennel Club, even though it is not a Terrier. Rather it is a rough-coated Pinscher, a type of German pest control dog which in a fairly recent stage of its history was given the new name "schnauzer", a word which refers to its snout being bearded and strongly constructed. The short answer is, yes, she is. The long answer is that Calypso is a professional in the study of child psychology and takes an approach to direct the children to make their decisions in a way that they will synergyse their play activity for a mutually beneficial outcome. That's a certain kind of magic, isn't it?
