Thank you thank you thank you! This was EXACTLY what I was looking for, a high single target damage Necro built that also uses minions. Most minion builds are AoE based which hurts his viability vs single bosses.
This is exactly the build I'm looking for. I'm starting a necro alt and want to build that is strong and include summoning skeles. But I found most other builds are either weak (pure summoner) or sacrifice the skeles (if I don't summon anything, why not play a sorc instead). This build perfectly fits my two requirements.
i switched to this build last night at level 91 and the damage is crazy! yup, went from doing 15m nightmare dungeons to 5-10m. after 2 nightmare dungeons i found ring of mendeln hahaha. thanks for the build

For those concerned with essence consumption, the main way to combat this is to use raise skeles a lot. Youll get into a rythem of spamming a couple spears, then spamming raise skele, rinse and repeat. Sounds very simple but i think a lot of people over look how important it is to alternate the two. Pick and choose your burn moments

What?!???? You’re the first person I have seen with my exact same build. And I mean down to every skill point pretty much. Crazy. I was gonna make a video explaining it. But now I don’t have too since you did. This is the perfect hardcore character. I use minions to tank hits for me for surviabilty but use bone spear for damage. It’s fantastic build for hardcore.
Been doing the same thing only without skele warriors but I think it makes more sense to use them solely for corpse generation so there's a free slot to put ult back instead of basic skill. I'm using a two hander and can absolutely say there's too much damage to pick it over some utility from focus or shield. Everything so far dies in 1 or 2 hits. Sadly, deleted lucky hit unique ring some time ago so will need to find another one. Keep it up!

I'd still really like a build that let's my character be a tanky support and the minions do all the killing, but until then I'll try this. Hope the broken things are fixed soon.

I was running this till late 60s. I never found the ring though and the problem I was running into was certain elite types in nightmare dungeons were trashing my minions.
Man I have been atomg Necro from the start trying to make shadow summoner work and it is amazing how much better this is. 20 corps explosion plus blight plus skel golem army all takes like 2 or 3 times the work to match this build with no aspects helping... crazy
I've been running a hybrid since kripps build inspired me to use the minions as a essence battery. Imho it's a lot more smooth to progress because you don't need all the specific uniques that the high end bone spear sacrifice builds need to generate essence. As a bonus in group play, if you take the blizzard aspect for the mages it freezes a ton of shit.

Dude, i just oneshotted Ellias on my 62 necro with your build.. I just gave him 2 spears and he had like 15% left. I'm using 2h sword, no unique ring, and instead of 2 additional warriors aspect I'm using unique helm. Love this build, thx a lot!

Hello Raiz, thanks a lot for this build. I have a level 100 necromancer and tried your build. it was a lot more fun and durable compared to my pure bone spear spec but under certain circumstances I find myself running out of essence so i made a few adjustments and I am loving it. I removed a point each from bonded in essence and death's defense and put those 2 points into grim harvest and I ditched the unique ring and instead started using a ring with crit chance, critdmg etc and aspect of the exposed flesh. I am still using a one hander, focus and have around 45% base crit chance, 35% lucky strike. This way I am literally always full essence and reaping benefits having so much maximum essence and during downtime i consume corpses quickly to top out my essence and also get the dmg buff, since reapers give an unending source of corpses it works out really well. thanks again for making this spec.
How do you make minions live?😊
@@carldarley6026until the buffs id spec into minion defense in the paragon boards. Probably the best way to do it. Also get the skill in the tree that makes it where minions can’t lose more then 30% of their life. But there should be minion buffs in the necro buffs so whenever the patch rolls out you may not even need to specs into their defense all to much
@@carldarley6026 usually after I use bonespear 2-3 times I spam the healing ability that uses corpses on the ground to heal the pets which also gives us a dmg buff so you get very high dmg for 6 seconds right after that and pets usually live, also always keep decrapify up. I have a good amount of health and DR which pets also benefit from. I was able to get to phase2 of uber lilith and kept pets alive. I could kill her with this spec if I was more skilled :) I tried many other necromancer specs, infinitimist can push higher nightmare and some pure bonespear builds can kill lilith in 50 seconds or so cheesing the encounter but this spec is the only one I actually had a lot of fun playing so there's that.

Thanks. I’m lvl 74 and struggling to clear tier 21 dungeons with my blight/CE build (no minions). I’m liking for a better build and one that includes minions.
@@urgatorb8 I'm lvl 84 now with this build, clearing tier 64 pretty easy and my gear is not optimal yet, this definitely is a good build to run!

Yeah, this build is pretty sick. I don’t have the survivability I did with my blood build, I felt like I was unkillable with the blood build, but damage was meh, damage here is good, I put my own spin on it, may tweak more
Would have been nice to see what the minions can actually do for damage, from the glimpse we got, it wasnt much at all. Nice build, just got the ring myself. Looking forward to trying it out!
there's a "how minions work" built out there from another channel. it's mainly about "which stats do affect minions and what can they do" and tbh... it's rather depressing how much they CANT do. they dont really take aggro, they cant proc lucky hit, even some aspects dont function the way they should.. it's a really interesting video, but it shows the problems necro minions have
Very great build for ND 40-50!
I was running a minion build with golem and 12 war/mages and although it was ok, it started to feel really bad towards lvl60 in WT3. So I bit the bullet and went for a bone spear build. But hardly had any supporting items. So although it was nice to see 50k crits at this level after minions, it just ran out of essence too fast. I was about respec back for the consistency when I saw this build. It's pretty much the minion cannon I've been looking for. Golem is decent when you keep it's cooldown refreshing quick, but it's stupid at the best of times. This only leaves stupidity to the player. How it should be. Nice build and I can't wait to get more gear to support it.
I’m doing a bone spear build at the moment but I’m doing it without minions. At lvl70 I’m gritting 2mil. The bone spear is awesome and extremely hard. I’m using the bone shield and the aspect for it for defense plus the barrier every 30 seconds. With about 200 essence at the moment. Just need to work on move speed lol.
Hmmm, I did not know that minions also could proc Lucky Hit! That makes them a lot more interesting even for usually non-minion builds.

It is similar to the build I am playing, bone spear with minion support for utility. I still think it is a bone spear build and not a summoner, but it seems to be as good as we are going to get unless Blizzard buffs/fixes minions.
I don't think D4 has a proper summoner build where the minions do the majority of the damage and you kind of support the minions with buffs/debuffs/utility, like PoE or Last Epoch or basically any other ARPG.
I used solo bone spear alone edition of mine... =) as u can guess the essenece is the issue... =( now it s done i got the gear and aspects, so i can build this one thanks man.

You mentioned that you have no essence issues, is that because of the essence reduction from gear? I'm having a hard time with essence when there are few enemies.
Also, I got Deathless Visage, is that any good in this build?
Wand makes me cautious but I want to try this out and get my bone bros back.
on the subject of wanting to play minions despite minion damage seemingly being bugged, have you looked at the blood surge amulet? It makes each of the minions also have a mini-nova like effect everytime you press blood surge, and the damage on it is quite low, but whenever you overpower, they also overpower (seemingly for the full damage).
I’ve tried that build. I personally just can’t make it work very well. I was using corpse explosion so much to level that at level 70 blood surge just seems underwhelming.
Big fan. I don‘t have the ring yet but found the bonespear helmet yesterday - would you recommend to use that one until I find the ONE ring?
This makes me very hopeful for the Boy and his Dog build I wanna do (necro and golem)
i'm a bit a nerd but you should swap your bone spear talent from top to bottom in the twig tree, the top one doesn't do anything since you have the bone spear lego (vulne on hit), also will try this for sure after i finish my level 75 hc necro :) good vid
the bone spear lego only applies vuln to enemies "beyond the first" you have to use the talent to vuln the first target
@@axelrogers777 i tested it and it actually apply vuln to every bone spear hit even the little ones after the spear break. I don't know if it's a miss translation or the legendary is bugged. Also notes i think the shards shotguns the targets, need maybe more test with other people but when anything is close to a wall or max range it just dies with multiple numbers (more than 2).

Even after patch nerfs, this build is still shredding T50 NM at level 80.
finaly someone made a build with bone spear i like a lot.. i just hit lvl 100 yesterday and got f**ked at lilith with my CE shadow build.. i will give this a try! thx a lot for the guide!:) would you change anything for fighting lilith with this setup?
If I remember correctly, you said on stream that aspect of serration, crit damage with bone may be better on the weapon ? or i misunderstand can you explain why then ? serration look addidive no "+" ? when even tendrils aspect is X ?
Another thing you overlooked raiz, blood orbs are in a separate damage bucket. This makes necro the highest dps of any class. I would highly recommend incorporating blood orbs and gain damage in this build. Otherwise you lose an entire damage bucket
would love to hear some ideas on how you would work in blood orbs, always up for min maxing for more damage!
@@dravenbloodwood embalmer aspect and get the affix deal "x%" damage for 5 seconds after picking up a blood orb
I’m around level 65 and my drops have just been crappy all week. Been doing a lot of Helltides, Tree of Knowledge, NM dungeons, and gambling with the purveyor in cities. Just can’t get unique items or higher level gear for some reason. Playing only on Nightmare difficulty until I get better gear for level 4 content. Trying my best to keep minion build for now, but just need some luck to happen on drops.

With splintering you take the crit spear node, not the vuln.

Problem with this build after testing is that you are dependent on mages for essence and damage for ring proc as well. So when you get an elite with the bubble shield in a NM dungeon, your minions are basically useless because the mages do not run into the bubble and their attacks are all blocked. Honestly kills the entire build once you begin pushing IMO.
Is the Blood mist useful in the build for the immunity and health heal? or is it a placeholder that could it be replaced with something else?
needed at higher level, so much CC that will get you killed
I love these builds that show up on UA-cam but I need a build that can clear nightmare 60-90
I'm probably missing something, but how is this build generating essence on bosses/anything that takes more than 2 hits to die? The generation provided by the mages does not seem sufficient at all to me, or does that get better with higher levels?
The longer the fight the more corpses from reapers will be made for you to reap. Also need aspect so you increase mages from 3 to 5 (if you put it in amulet you get 6 total, doubling the essence you get). The mana you get from mages is significant
I want to try this build but I am just concerned about three things... 1. I haven't ever played without CE and I'm kind of scared to not have it in my build. 2. I wary that there aren't any aspects that directly buff your minions so I'm afraid they'll die too easily. And 3. The one time I tried Bone Spear it was so essence hungry that I would cast two (usually missing) and then be out of essence running around for dear life. Admitedly, I wasn't really spec'd well for BS at the time but ... I have faith in RaizQT's builds as I've played many of them in POE. Guess I just need to try it but getting the gear together just right is hard.
I have mendeln but haven’t tried it. I use another dps ring with exposed flesh in that spot.

If Supernatural Bone Speak is bugged and we skipped Initiate's Bone Splinters and Plagued Corpse Tendrils, is there a point to obtaining Evulsion? Evulsion only applies to vulnerable enemies right?

I would also recommend putting your + to number of skeleton mages on your amulet, as you get +3 instead of +2 that way (+50% power). Unless the tendrils aspect bonus is overall more valuable.

Why do people use the consume corpse power buff with corpse tendril, when it states it does not consume a corpse. Do the buffs still work

I wish people would say where they acquired the ring. I wanna see if there's a theme on location or something to try and have a better drop chance. Where did you get it?
Acquired in a nightmare dungeon, was part of the end rewards for clearing the dungeon.
Just got it yesterday for just clearing normal t4 dungeons, no sigils, on random mobs
This is almost exactly what I'm running right now at lower level. Really feels like people are sleeping on the utility of minions, even when they do no damage. Smashing through T3 easily right now, so I can confidently say this works great while levelling as well.
What do you think about using Deathless Visage on helm instead of Disobedience aspect?
Also, what exactly is the resource generator outside of cold mages in this build? Is it just them and the essence on kill nodes?
probably use that helmet but use that apsect somewhere else, bonus armor is good, i'd replace that glove aspect he had if anything

whats the HEALTHY definition in D4? is it if youre always 100% health? or ulesss you arent dead?
Healthy means above 80% health.
Injured means below 35% health.
Level 90 and still.havent found the minion essence aspect anywhere. 😊

I am having essence issues too. I am not that far into the paragon tree so I'm only getting essence by raising corpses

He only needed reap to progress the skill tree.
I have a very similar build and I think you made a few mistakes. One their is a amulet unique that gives you 30% more essence so if you are at 150 that's a 50+ essence increase! And secondly the ossified essence has a cap and doesn't do nearly as much as a 2 handed weapon with perfect roll for bone spear (225% dmg to vulnerable)
ill be looking into this. Also feel weird about not having a nonsense dependent attack

can you explain the 11 million crit damage... the most i do with bone spear (without minions) is 1.2-1.4 million... and i think that is ONLY when i crit and all the splintering spears explode inside the target and and it shows the damage as 1 number. my regular crits just do like 300-400k as the spear passes through. i have the seration ring, the corpse tendril legendary on my amulet... 2614 dps 2h sword with perfect splintering legendary aspect. dont understand why i am doing so little compared to everyone elses claims

Make sure you have +vuln on your gear and that you're getting them vulnerable before the spear.

@@giray899 corpse tendrils. I spear a pack to open, if there are 3 or more left after that i corpse tendrils, maybe drop a wall around them, then spear again to finish.
Whoa…this is my build, I considered myself the originator. I did the exact same thing, I missed minions when I sac them for bone spear so I switched gears and focused on spear and used Skelly as utility. I get 60 max essence from requiem aspect (extra mage on amulet) which is huge for ossified.

How do you consume corpses?
The summon skeleton skill consumes corpses to both heal and buff the minions.
I would like to see more game play really hard to tell how good the build is with only 2 minutes of gameplay in a 36 minute video.
Raiz was a PoE guy.. this is the D4 version of the Asmongold meme about poe guides being 30 minutes of spreadsheets and no gameplay.. 😂

level 65 and redid the paragon board to match this as best I could and doubled my avg bone spear damage. holy shit. do not use early paragon points and glyph upgrades to buff minions. thank you very much sir
