After being able to level up from 70 to almost 100 in just a few days, I figured I'd share my full necromancer build to show how effective it is. I hope this video helps my fellow necromancer enjoyers!
running the same build just with Decrepify instead of Bone Prison. Its a lot of fun, but in group it sucks. Cause it needs setup and your way faster mates will screw that all up for you. You dont get fortification then and also Essence runs out if you just kill stragglers with zero setup :/ also pushing NM tiers 70+ you basically get oneshot by normal white mobs. Its soo squishy, especially since Fortify just sucks. You have a little damage reduction until you get hit and then the fortify is entirely useless. They need to rework it fast. I played a long time thinking that its an extra health pool, not aware it is just buildup for the effect once you reach the max and once you lose it any "almost full" fortify is entirely worthless. It sucks so bad
This is the best guide I've watched so far. It provides a detailed explanation and talking in a normal pace. Usually, the 'guides' circulating on UA-cam talk so fast, as if someone is chasing them.
I’m found something amazing to add here; I really wanted the damage from the 2H sword but I also really loved the Scythe kills generating constant barrier, so I had an epiphany, I slapped 2 royal skulls on my 2H sword and bam now I have the damage and the barrier generation. It’s crazy good.
i love how a lot of people were saying the game is too simple, skill "tree", etc but even weeks in to season0 builds are still changing and new ones are showing up lol. such a good game and cant wait to try this build since im finally playing a necromancer
This has been THE staple build since day one. Other builds exist but cant touch this. Hopefully they drop the patch soon i want to play with minions effectively
Dude are you kidding 😂😂 Weeks into season 0, people are barely lvl 100. Give it a month or 2 at endgame. The game is at its core simple, there is no denying that, just because he is changing a few bits of gear does not make it anymore complex lol
@@shishigami4510 Depending how they balance them, Necro might actually have more than 4 builds that can dominate nightmare 70+. Shadowmist and Bonespear are the only ones I know at the moment but if they buff minions and blood... who knows.
have tried this build for a couple of hours now and got used to it. Game Changer, ty so much. All these necro builds at the top just dont slap, this does!. I was stuck on tier 30, now im blowing through tier 30 like a breeze. Thanks man!
Love this, literally running the same exact build almost to a T lol hits so hard but I am struggling with essence and Umbral Aspect seems like it would help out so much. Right now I’m having to mix in corpse explosion in between bone spears to ensure I don’t run out of essence but when I do bone prison, corpse tendril or bloodmist always finds a way to save/help me in some way to get the job done! Until I found a higher roll of umbra (it's a dungeon codex so you can go get the 1/4 essence version) I was using the aspect that gives mana back when you heal, and running 2h scythe. As a plus with temerity unique pants, the overheal shield counts as well and gives essence back even if you're full health. Fun little combo with the scythe heal on kill I liked running
I am level 75 necro. Stgruggled with Essense before as well... But now I have ZERO essense generation through skills (no basic, no corpse explosion or corpse consumption) - nothing. The ways I regen essense are: 1) Paragon points (essense on kill). 2) Aspect [1-4] Essense per CC with Tendrils and Bone Prison and slow from Decrep and Chill from boot (my roll is 1 only and it is enough). 3) Lucky hit generates [30-50] Essense (mine is only 30, but it is enough). ^ those 3 are more than enough for PvM and PvP.
I've found that corpse explosion + flesh eater to be clunky gameplay. Going Decrep curse + Amplify damage gives 20% damage reduction, a slow, lucky hit stun, and 9% extra damage without needing to blow up 5 corpses. Feels about the same damage with better game play. Giving you the ability to remove CE completely and freeing up an extra 4 points for Death's embrace and enhanced blood mist.
Bone spirit and bone spear is good as a hybrid too because then you have an escape with your blood pool skill. I take it over the bone prison and run that unique chest piece for bone spirit and blow up groups that try to cc me after tendriling. It also can get you out of the status of being frozen which can mean guaranteed death given the circumstance. Problem with necro rn is the lack of escapability since minions are inferior rn so no meat walls. In my opinion the only viable builds rn are ones that can kill before they reach necro on higher tiers which this one can accomplish to a certain degree but eventually will run into those that they cant 1 shot/dps down.

I hope the devs fix the issue with the necromancer if you have corpse tendrils or corpse explosion on your x button on xbox you cant pick up any loot until youve cleared every corpse off the screen and everything i do is about creating corpses so clearing 20 corpses after every single battle has become tedious very quickly. In fact if you have corpse tendrils on x you can't pick up loot full stop.
I don't know if I am not skilled or what, but I cant seem to quit bone splinters and replace it with bone prison. I am at level 84. I keep running into elite packs that run me out of essence and I cant regenerate it fast enough. I think my gear isnt good enough yet, namely I dont have a perfect Umbral ring to regen essence. Maybe I just need to keep practicing.
"Casual one million". Loved the video and hope it won't get nerfed, i am running my own build of BS in HC (level 99) but cant reach those levels of DPS since I have to focus much more on survivability
Doing this EXACT build of a maxroll guide,loving it! Dont see why they would nerf it,necro comes with its own problems like speed so i feel its balanced (powerful but slow) Plus its the lead D4 developers fav class.😂
At level 60 I started experimenting with using Iron Maiden to generate essence. It costs nothing to cast and has no cooldown so you can spam it. Also running decrpify for the crown control damage which I’m getting gigantic boosts from my glyphs.
Nice video and nice guide.. Biggest problem with a lot of builds in diablo is unless you find those key aspects the build kind of sucks and feels very clunky.. At least that is my experience.. I do hope they either change the fact that you can use an aspect multiple times or change the rarity a bit. Or allow unique aspects to be extracted... Currently I'm fumbling around my necro summoner with bone spear aroung at level 51 or so and it has been a bit of a mess.. I totally disagree with your assessment that blizzard will or should nerf this... I mean it only works because of many countless hours of farming and getting all the correct rare aspects and such... If they nerf it there would be no point at all getting that far....
I totally agree with you. That is a real problem in this game. Most of These builds really don’t start to come together until you are at least level 70. The only class in this game that feels good to play early on is rogue.
Once you reach 40-50% unbuffed crit chance you should be putting splintering aspect on weapon. Serration is bugged right now and over performs - generally you'd want that on gloves but due to the bug you may want to use it on a necklace especially while grinding lower tier content. If Serration wasn't bugged once we'd get to that crit chance breakpoint we'd always be using Grasping Veins aspect on an amulet. Best stats on weapon would be vuln>crit dmg>int>core skill dmg. Double crit dmg instead of core skill dmg isn't far behind, but ignoring main stat on a weapon is a terrible idea, main stat scaling is in its own bucket just like vuln and critS.
As a casual player i have a question. I see a lot of hardcore players (like you), that have already reached lvl 100. You have a great completed build, all the unique items you need for it, all the aspects, the legendaries, the best gems, full paragon points, whatever. You have reached a point where you can solo clear lvl 90+ nightmare dungeons like it's nothing, one shotting anything that moves including bosses. WHERE do you go from there...? I mean what else can you do with your character after that? Is there anything else to do? Or you're just playing for nothing from now on?
That's a great guide out there dude! But it would be much easier for people to be looking at it on daily basis if it was available online in a written way (i.e. maxroll, icyveins, etc.). Do you have the guide in such format?
Just a tip for players that want to do hardcore. Do this same build except put one point in corpse tendrils and skip bone prison. Instead keep the skeleton minions. And be a hybrid bone spear summoner. Those minions are invaluable in hardcore. They soak up so much damage so you can focus on just using bone spear. In soft core you don’t need as much survival
@@davidmaltais2912Hybrid will get you far. However I strictly play hardcore and instead of going for straight damage, I use one sword and shield for block chance. Run protector, disobedience proc it with blight corpse explosion for crazy resistance and bone storm barrier. Both barriers together can easily get you through solo play. Want to try out the blood lance build thats breaking the game tho 🤣
@@davidmaltais2912 yeah. You essentially use hemmorage to build up fortify. Stat into health because of overpower, get attack speed on everything you can. Tendril of course and just blood lance the shit out of them as fast as you can. In high tier nightmares. Its been putting up such high numbers and so fast that it can lag out everyone thats doing the same dungeon as you and in the same region.
@@davidmaltais2912 Also even tho it sounds like I was disagreeing with you. In hardcore, playing with minions is more safe when you’re leveling to cap because most of the bone spear build is heavily reliant on uniques before you can go full solo.
Have you tried out using skeleton skirmishes (corpse gen) and cold skeleton mages (2 essence on hit, chills enemies on hit, freezes enemy after 7 hits)? It replaces corpse explosion on the skill bar. You drop memento mori for fortify in corpse generation by you or your minion skills. You replace Umbral with +2 skele mages and something else with +3-5 max essence per active minion (you have 8 minions so that’s 24-40 max essence) which is huge damage. This is better essence gen than Umbral unless you have a 3 or 4 Umbral. It’s not great for pushing NM dungeon difficulty or bossing but it is really a lot better QOL than corpse explode for essence generation for overworld content.
I'm running almost exactly the same thing now in mid-70s. I also have 25% movespeed on my amulet which makes running nightmare dungeons so much quicker. Only have a 2 umbral to work with though at the moment.
I don't understand why player with big builds like this show the gameplay on a simple T4 dungeon. Can you show us a 60-70 key at least to show it's really working
Man this about to make my shit hit way harder. Need to sacrifice something for the unique gloves that make your skills randomly do 1-300% more. On average thats 150% more each skill
give me your opinions guy: i feel like i prefere play decrepify instead of corpse explosion 1: yes it cost essence, but you have lot of essence regen 2: + explosion damage are not that big 3: fortify give 10% damage reduce, but decrepify give 20%, so you take less damage, a really good gain for survivability 4: it give CD reduce, which is really good for tendril/prison/bloodmist AND storm bones, reducing 4 spell on 6 looks really good to me, especialy when it's CC and def CD 5:what do you think about glyphe territory instead of essence? a bit less damage but more tanky?
Now the first thing you need to do in order to get millions of damage filling your screen is get to level 98...The only thing I'm worried about are the items that say up to 10% chance. Does that essence add any luck? Does that mean you need to stack luck and if you do is it capped at 10 for that ability?
If you're going to use a one handed weapon in this case, make sure to use a shield alongside it instead of a focus. The shield will give an extra 80% main hand weapon damage which can supplement damage. My first thoughts for aspects on a shield would be shared misery, because that extra crowd control is extra essence.

This build looks sick. I also run something similar but I think I might respec my tree to try this build out. How depended is this build on the equipment? Most of my gear is rolled to just do as much bone damage as it can.
Missing so much essence cost reduction and total essence in this build, not to mention damage mitigation. But hey, you have a bunch of crit! Check out how damage buckets work in D4, will help you a ton!
What aspects would you recommend for the gauntlets and weapon since you mentioned you messed up? And what stats and aspects for pants and boots would i be looking for until the unique drops
Ok, this build helped a lot but I have a question. Slot 5 usually binds to Left Mouse, which is normally Basic abilities, and moving/action. I'm aware that you can split that feature to have 'hold left mouse' be steering and movement, but I can't seem to separate 'use item / interact' from slot 5 without making the Ultimate and those both the same button. Can someone explain that basic step to me?
I’m not sure why the basic slot would be tied to your interact binding only. Like you said, you can separate them out, but when you go further into the bindings, it should give you an option to set the binding for move, interact, and basic skill separately. It also gives you the option to bind move and interact together while keeping the basic skill separate.

You can use the aspect for lucky hit on vulnerable bone skills, easy way to get a lot of essence using bone spears

I have a bone spirit, bone spear build that runs 40nm in 3min or less. Funnest build I played so far.

@Ajme-kb4osj ust hang on til 50. You'll get a power spike. Once you can get to world tier 3 the gear is way better.

What do you think about the Bonestorm Aspect? It consumes up to 8 corpses for additional bonestorme time. and it should proc the Flesh eater Node asap

Is the damage just lower on two handed swords in general compared to two handed scythes? Do you just sacrifice the damage for the crit it comes with?
I dont know but Disturbed is my 2nd favourite band of all time.

You seem knowledgeable. Do two handed swords just roll lower damage compared to two handed scythe or am I just that unlucky?

How are you getting that 11k life? I have life on 3 gear parts and only come to 9k... Did you take all the extra life from the paragon board?

I combine Retribution aspect with corps tendrils. Giving me 40% more damage against stunned enemies
Just a tip for players that want to do hardcore. Do this same build except put one point in corpse tendrils and skip bone prison. Instead keep the skeleton minions. And be a hybrid bone spear summoner. Those minions are invaluable in hardcore. They soak up so much damage so you can focus on just using bone spear. In soft core you don’t need as much survival
I can't imagine playing necro not hybrid tbh even in softcore those minions are crucial to survive
@@davidmaltais2912Hybrid will get you far. However I strictly play hardcore and instead of going for straight damage, I use one sword and shield for block chance. Run protector, disobedience proc it with blight corpse explosion for crazy resistance and bone storm barrier. Both barriers together can easily get you through solo play. Want to try out the blood lance build thats breaking the game tho 🤣

@@davidmaltais2912 yeah. You essentially use hemmorage to build up fortify. Stat into health because of overpower, get attack speed on everything you can. Tendril of course and just blood lance the shit out of them as fast as you can. In high tier nightmares. Its been putting up such high numbers and so fast that it can lag out everyone thats doing the same dungeon as you and in the same region.
@@davidmaltais2912 Also even tho it sounds like I was disagreeing with you. In hardcore, playing with minions is more safe when you’re leveling to cap because most of the bone spear build is heavily reliant on uniques before you can go full solo.
Have you tried out using skeleton skirmishes (corpse gen) and cold skeleton mages (2 essence on hit, chills enemies on hit, freezes enemy after 7 hits)? It replaces corpse explosion on the skill bar. You drop memento mori for fortify in corpse generation by you or your minion skills. You replace Umbral with +2 skele mages and something else with +3-5 max essence per active minion (you have 8 minions so that’s 24-40 max essence) which is huge damage. This is better essence gen than Umbral unless you have a 3 or 4 Umbral. It’s not great for pushing NM dungeon difficulty or bossing but it is really a lot better QOL than corpse explode for essence generation for overworld content.
I'm running almost exactly the same thing now in mid-70s. I also have 25% movespeed on my amulet which makes running nightmare dungeons so much quicker. Only have a 2 umbral to work with though at the moment.
Same I cant find any umbral legendarys, they seriously dont exist
I don't understand why player with big builds like this show the gameplay on a simple T4 dungeon. Can you show us a 60-70 key at least to show it's really working

I run a similar build, but instead of corpse explosion and bone prison, I run bone splinters and Iron Madden.
U HAVE to use the cc damage glyph on bone board, i have a 138% damage boost to cc’d enemies just from that glyph
The CC damage is additive, so it’s not nearly adding as much as you think
Man this about to make my shit hit way harder. Need to sacrifice something for the unique gloves that make your skills randomly do 1-300% more. On average thats 150% more each skill

give me your opinions guy: i feel like i prefere play decrepify instead of corpse explosion
1: yes it cost essence, but you have lot of essence regen
2: + explosion damage are not that big
3: fortify give 10% damage reduce, but decrepify give 20%, so you take less damage, a really good gain for survivability
4: it give CD reduce, which is really good for tendril/prison/bloodmist AND storm bones, reducing 4 spell on 6 looks really good to me, especialy when it's CC and def CD
5:what do you think about glyphe territory instead of essence? a bit less damage but more tanky?

Now the first thing you need to do in order to get millions of damage filling your screen is get to level 98...The only thing I'm worried about are the items that say up to 10% chance. Does that essence add any luck? Does that mean you need to stack luck and if you do is it capped at 10 for that ability?

dont use a one hand. The stats suck, use a two handed because it 2x the stats
@@JourneysORSR That may depend on whether the build needs one more aspect to work properly.
If you're going to use a one handed weapon in this case, make sure to use a shield alongside it instead of a focus. The shield will give an extra 80% main hand weapon damage which can supplement damage. My first thoughts for aspects on a shield would be shared misery, because that extra crowd control is extra essence.
How are you supposed to get aspect of exposed flesh? I’m level 68 and I didn’t get a single one yet

This build looks sick. I also run something similar but I think I might respec my tree to try this build out. How depended is this build on the equipment? Most of my gear is rolled to just do as much bone damage as it can.

Missing so much essence cost reduction and total essence in this build, not to mention damage mitigation. But hey, you have a bunch of crit! Check out how damage buckets work in D4, will help you a ton!
What aspects would you recommend for the gauntlets and weapon since you mentioned you messed up? And what stats and aspects for pants and boots would i be looking for until the unique drops
Same aspects, just swapped. It works both ways for sure, just depends on if you want to lean in on vulnerability or critical damage more.

Ok, this build helped a lot but I have a question. Slot 5 usually binds to Left Mouse, which is normally Basic abilities, and moving/action. I'm aware that you can split that feature to have 'hold left mouse' be steering and movement, but I can't seem to separate 'use item / interact' from slot 5 without making the Ultimate and those both the same button. Can someone explain that basic step to me?
I’m not sure why the basic slot would be tied to your interact binding only. Like you said, you can separate them out, but when you go further into the bindings, it should give you an option to set the binding for move, interact, and basic skill separately. It also gives you the option to bind move and interact together while keeping the basic skill separate.
