Would love to pop this in my 1969 continental. It has514 currently, but I would do Weiand tunnel ram twin demon carbs on that 598 if i got it. Pair it with a nice STS twin turbo kit Jon Kaase heads maybe a midnight special comp cam. To dream.
For drag racing there aren't reliability issues. You build the engine for the intended use. For a drift car, you would reduce the stroke and build according to the engine intended use for reliability.
@@cncmotorsports Thank you I definitely have a few questions about it, I want to build a mega truck for racing and a lot of the competition run 1500 all the way out to 2K HP blower motors mainly 540ci and so forth but I’m a Ford guy and I want true Ford HP would you recommend this motor or maybe go lower down to a 545 , 572 ?
Last weekend on Engine Power they built a 636 ci BB Chevy ..this wasn't a budget build, top dollar parts, order and assemble, 14.5:1, ..made 1021 hp and 833 lbft trq. Enuf said..
It’s an air pump, Chevy stuff is more prevalent in drag racing. They make a BBC exhaust port on BBF heads, not the other way around, R&D is way up on BBC stuff than BBF. I like the 385 series because of the small combustion chamber equates to more compression with a flat top piston. You can find stock block 460s on the cheap and stroke them to 557CID without an aftermarket or tall deck truck block.
Just so you know The guy from Power Nation went to Jon Kasse's and watched them build A big block Ford and couldn't believe it made more than a 100 horsepower more than his high dollar Chev with between 30 and 40 less cubic inches.
Donald K. MacBaird Top use to build Pro Stock motors for Greg Anderson back then, he’s not easily impressed, it was shock value for television. I’m pretty sure they didn’t want to show up Kasse Racing Engines. But in the end they are still air pumps pick your poison. They use the same aftermarket rods and valves that are used in BBC. I like both manufacturers
@@fairlanemuscle the potential gain wouldn’t be worth the price of a custom crank at 4.7” with a smaller bore center on A460 heads. The 4.6x4.5 bore stroke combo is better, and it saves you the money on a custom crank
You lost me at roller camshaft. I don't want a garbage roller cam. Because if I'm going to buy an engine that big I want a real aggressive choppy cam profile. I want that damn thing to chop like the 632 Big Block in a 2023 COPO Camaro. But I'm just looking for a Ford competitor to that engine.
That many cubic inches revving that quickly. Incredible! Well done.
Without a turbo or supercharger or NOS..Nothing like a big block, Ford brute power 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
1038hp @ 7500 very nice
Probably my favorite...Single 4bbl Big Block Ford build....great Job Guys....👍
Check out Jon Kasse big block Ford N/A motor with his SR71 heads its insane, as fay far AS I know his makes the most N/A power.
I need this for my Crown Vic
Mines too, I have an 1990 Ltd crownvic
Great video Ford powered forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them bow ties and the horns off them mopars
Perfect fit in my '61 Starliner. May have to box the frame rails and add a cage, though. The ol' Ford-O-Matic might need freshening up a little bit.
That's a beauty fellas...

Very very impressive

Is this available carb to pan? On your web site?
Any reliability issues with bbf and bbc with massive stroke? What is the redline? And is it advise to run it on a pro drift car N/A

nice!
Sheeeeit!
Can you add a blower to this motor?
You will have to lower the compression for a blower.

Cam specs?
I assume this was a 4.6 bore, 4.5" stroke combination. I wonder how it would have performed in a 4.44 bore, 4.7" stroke combination
pistons get too short at that stroke imo..
Torque would’ve increased a little, that’s about it. But the 4.44” bore on the a460 heads would likely hurt peak hp I think
@@juliennacer8871 lots of 632s built with even shorter pistons
