I love this. unfortunately it can be misleading for some people who have extreme brain damage from childhood developmental trauma. yes the brain is able to change and grow. having said that, it needs proper guidance and consistency in order for the changes to occur. unfortunately we live in a society that doesn’t promote healthy living. recovery from childhood issues is not easy and doing it on your own is extremely difficult and takes a very long time to alter behavioural response and genetic predisposition. It can be done ( I know from my own growth) I just think it needs to be acknowledged that it Takes Time and a Lot of Effort and Consistency with GREAT Support systems otherwise it can be devastating and damaging to the brain and self esteem. Thank you for your amazing podcasts
I don't know your level of brain damage, or if it affects your motor skills, but with the internet we have a lot of access to health information. I don't mean magic pills and herbal voodoo, I mean everything points to literally just walking every day and eating fresh foods (less processed, lower fats, sugar, salt). If you just kept it that simple, it makes a huge difference.
@ impulse control dis functions are a huge block to growth. it isn’t something that can be controlled with willpower or positive thinking. quality foods are essential but unaffordable for most people with minimal income and as to exercise, again I agree with you that it is beneficial and necessary for good hormonal balance and if it was that simple to implement into daily routine then a lot of people would be out of a job. the type of brain damage I refer to is developmental issues in how the brain responds to certain tasks. disorders such as BPD and other personality disorders are due the overactive mid brain and low functioning executive functions in the frontal cortex. these are deep connection in wiring issues often due to epigenetic and Vagus nerve damage . hope this helps answer your question. 🙋♀️
